But, there's only one 4 lanes lap pool so I have no idea why they had to "rest/close" the pool from 1-4pm weekdays. In both MN & PA, lap pool is opened all day 5:15am-8pm weekdays. If lap pool was used for swim team or life guard training, they'd open the kid's pool for lap swim. In Philly, there is one pool with no kids' pool. So certain hours, 2-3 lanes of pool are reserved for kids lesson/ fam swim, leaving 2 lanes for lap swim. But the pool is in use fr 5:15 till closing at 8 weekdays or 6/ 4pm weekends, except for Friday 2.5 hrs of pool cleaning. They tried to maximize the pool's usage to benefit members. Why such a waste of resources here in Avon, IN? I saw that the staff were just hanging out, doing nothing near the pool while members were not allowed 1-4pm to use the pool nor the sauna. It would be the best time for some ppl to swim/sauna in these 3 wasted hours. I hope that the management of Hendricks Y will reconsider their pool hours and not waste such a wonderful resource for its community. I will upgrade this to a 5 star if this is changed for the better (or even 6; ).

I am only a basic member, so I can't vouch for the extra features like the pool and the sauna and the other classes. I go mainly for the weightlifting equipment and the open spaces. I like how there are two fitness greens in the gym which both offer plenty of room to exercise. The variety of weightlifting equipment is also pretty good, with a lot of different machines and cable stacks. The free weights are also pretty well stocked. My favorite area is the Olympic weightlifting area, which has four platforms and six squat racks which also have platforms. This area has a lot of mirrors so it's easy to keep your form in check. I have never used any of the class spaces but they all look really well kept from what I can see. They even recently updated one of their studios for weightlifting classes! I've been going there so you know I'll be back again!

Never have trouble finding one. I haven't used the weights much but in the morning there always seems to be enough. I really joined for the pool. It's always almost empty from 5-7 am and it is just really nice to be able to swim in a clean pool. I wear goggles, would highly recommend them. Hot tub is a plus as are the steam room and sauna. My fave part is using the massage chairs after my workouts. I pay 25 a month for everything. The lower membership doesn't have pool included. Fair price for what I use the gym for. Clean place, good music and good people.

And it's the same great big pool I remember from when I was a kid. The reception area looks the same as it did back when I was a kid. I was a bit disappointed to see the bottom of the pool was exposed concrete with many cracks having been repaired with white epoxy seams. There was crumbled bits of concrete on the floor of the pool that I accidentally stepped on and felt like I was walking on rocks (OUCH). The locker room was okay, somewhat maze like, and could use a face lift. I went to take a shower after my dip and it ran cold to scalding with no opportunity for adjustment in between. Such a great location and facility. With so many possibilities.

Plus, there are 3 lanes for swimming and a hot tub for adults. I enjoy playing with the kids, or just sitting by the side of the pool and enjoying watching the kids have the time of their life. The classes are led by lifeguards, who all seem quite kind, but my little ones really love their swim coach, Holly. They've done extremely well under her instruction, moving from level 1 up to level 3 within a month. We've since had a handful of pool days here and really enjoyed everything this pool has to offer. The lifeguards are all highly attentive, especially in the diving well and slide areas. Parents are allowed to take their little ones down the large slide with them, and that has provided a lot of fun for my toddler grandchildren when they join us for a pool day. There are a lot of lounge chairs surrounding the pool, so you're sure to get a seat. Getting to the pool early in the day ensures you get a prime spot. I like to sit between the 2 pools so I can keep an eye on all my kids when I'm not in the pool with them. I also have a good view of my girls on the diving boards and water slides. There are so many amenities here. A nice sized baby pool, 2 shaded picnic areas, and a shaded play area full of Little Tike type houses and equipment next to the baby pool. There's the large pool, but then another pool that's perfect for families with both infants, toddlers, and smaller children who aren't quite ready for the big pool but also have outgrown the baby pool. 3 waterslides, a diving board, and a splash pad. The snack bar is reasonably priced, and the food is decent. Mooresville Family Aquatic Center has become our absolute favorite place to have pool days. The swim lessons have really boosted their abilities and confidence, and they are quite proud to finally be able to ride the water slides and jump off the diving board like big kids.

First the website can be a bit weird and if you are getting day passes and it keeps saying its 'timing out' you need to make a Plainfield recs account first and it stops being weird. On my visit i purchased tickets/admission on the website because i could not tell if i could get in on location or not. Once we got thru the check in process we went to see the indoor pools first.... Well they were closed. OK... Went outside and its pretty expansive and clean. One of the non-tube slides was down as well as looks like 1/3rd of the exterior swimming items were down for what looked like cleaning since i saw staff working on it. From the maps view basically the huge lazy river side. As a non-resident the pricing i feel was a good value for goofing off in the water for roughly 3 hours. Onsite food isn't anything to rave about but at least it is available and it was not crazy prices. Tons of life guards doing an awesome job from what i could tell while watching the people watching the rest of us so i felt super safe and confortable they were keeping an eye on all the kids. I didnt grab any photos because i dont really like publishing anything with people in it.
