I figured I was out of my depth and some engine work was probably required, likely coil replacement. When I explained everything at LarsEngines, it was indicated that I was in queue and it would likely take a week which was unfortunate because I was hoping to use the pressure washer for a project that weekend. Long story short, it was a quick fix that didn't require shipping of additional parts and because they actively listened to my need for the unit by the weekend, I got it back in time to make that happen. These folks do good work, listen to customer needs, and are honest.

You need someone to come to you, and that is exactly the terrific service that Jim provides. My older mower has had several issues and never ran well (I bought it used). After several attempts to patch it along, it finally stopped running. I called Jim who came out, loaded it on to his cool rig, and about 2 weeks later it came back running like a charm!! There have been a few follow-on issues over time, and each time Jim has come out to my place and either fixed them on site or taken the mower away and brought it back humming. I hauled the mower into the local saw service twice this spring. It still wouldn't mow for more than 90 seconds. Another go-to small engine shop in town wouldn't even look at it. After searching and searching online, before I broke down and spent another $5000 on a new mower, I heard about Bill's Lawnmower in Santa Rosa. A Yelp review said that shop was closed, but Bill was now operating a mobile service van called Mower Medic. Bill responded quickly to my call and addressed the problem with great expertise and persistence. I appreciated a mobile provider who could observe what was going wrong when I operated the equipment in my own field. It took a couple of trips to resolve the problem, which gave me the chance to understand Bill's exceptional business and customer service ethics and enjoy his entertaining delivery. He could be teaching classes in business school if he weren't busy repairing engines. Bill ultimately solved the problem completely and charged an extremely reasonable fee for his services. We were charged and they didn't even do the job! On top of that, they told him the tractor was ready for pickup, so he made the trip out there, only to be told once he arrived that it actually wasn't ready. That's a complete waste of time and shows a lack of communication and organization. Mechanics are inexperienced, and management is not properly overseeing the work or the customer experience. I'd be cautious about trusting them with your equipment!

Robert called me back that day and came out and took care of the problem in less than 15 minutes. I invested probably 4 hours reading the manual, You-Tube videos on the subject and fiddling with my tractor... but decided in the end to call a professional. Robert's truck has a hoist, welding rig, generator, 30 gallons of grease and all manner of tools so that he can fix most any problem in the field. He's also got a shop in Penngrove where he can do major repair work. He fixes generators also if you have a generator on your remote site. He fixed my tractor and charged me "whatever you think is reasonable" - which was quite reasonable to me - but worth his time to come and take care of the MF30. (I have some tire work that I'll have him do later.)

His knowledge and personability are rare traits these days, and it's hard to find folks that will go the extra mile who genuinely care about getting you the right tools. We bought a wood splitter this weekend. We are really grateful that the owner held it for us all week! We have been excited to pick this up and we are stoked to keep supporting a local shop that sells quality equipment. There were two gentlemen working when we made the purchase, Jeremy and some other guy named James who I had never met before. They were a bit busy and we weren't in a rush, so we waited for things to simmer down after Jeremy rang us up so we could get a run-through of the equipment and load it up. Really no big deal to wait - I worked retail for years I know it can be hectic - but Mr. Jimbo didnt seem at all interested in actually helping when he could have sped things along. He literally just acted like we were "in the way" or we were some sort inconvenience. I came back in to ask a question about a pin for the hitch mount (Genuine safety inquiry, so a legit concern.) Dude just stood behind the counter sneering at us and snapped at Jeremy to, "Make it quick...." Um, we just spent nearly 3k on a machine, can you at least act like you work here or give a hoot about the customers? We were told due to it being the beginning of spring that it wouldn't be done for about 4 weeks. Which was understandable. However, here we sit on July 1st without our machine . My husband has been by on 3 separate occasions and keeps being told 2 weeks and then a week. He has also had to since go and purchase another machine due to the fact that we do landscaping part time and needed this for work. I'm sorry but this is unacceptable.It has been 2 and a half months and it still isn't done. I don't know what the issue is over there but we should be discounted on the price or compensated in some way. When my husband said something to the manager regarding the machine not being done in a timely fashion the manager was like well that's the price we quoted you. Yes it was but we were also told it would be 4 weeks not 10+ weeks. We definitely won't be doing business with this store again.
