While getting my annual service the dealership told me my brakes were shot. It seemed early to me, since my car only has 23,000 miles. I decided I needed ceramic pads to hopefully last longer than the OEM pads. I authorized Mo to do all four wheels with ceramic pads, but he called me after about an hour and told me I had plenty of pad thickness left on the front wheels. Very honest! His price was also reasonable. I will be bringing it back to him when I need the front pads done in the future. read more

After repairing my wife's glovebox on her SLK Mercedes, the Air Bag light lit up on the dash. (Because I disconnected and reconnected passenger airbag) I called a Mercedes repair place asking if they would reset the ABS light. They said they could at a cost of $200. I went online and bought a On-board Diagnostic tool for $50. to try to reset myself. The tool came, I pugged it in, and it did not work. (Apparently the tool was not sophisticated enough to do the reset) A few days later, while driving by, I happened in to A1 Precision Auto. I met with Mo and explained the problem to him. While there I noticed his shop to be clean, well organized, and having all the latest auto repair equipment. To my surprise, with a big smile on his face, he told me he would reset the light for free, and sure enough he did. He now has a new customer. This is the third time I've gone to Mo's -and each time he has taken care of my issues professionally, inexpensively, and successfully. My wife's car's brakes -I thought had a problem, but he pointed out a minor issue that was quickly set right. My car did have some brake issues and he fixed them quickly, inexpensively and they work great. Finally the other day, I took my car in because it was stalling at idle. He suggested it could be one issue, but upon checking it turned out to be (sadly) bigger issue. Oh, he also found a small leak that he fixed during that same job. Price was fair and I was happy that my car runs great again -perhaps quieter (& smoother) than before! Had a great experience. Leaving Auburn to head to Monterey for a long weekend. Breaks sounded horrible so I took it to Les Schwab and had a horrible experience for the second time. You can read that review for more detail. Made it to Monterey and found A1 on yelp. They worked me in to their schedule, were very friendly and informative. I don't know much about auto stuff so I like it when they explain the problem and what they have to do. Price was fair according to my buddy who would know. I have a 2006 Mercedes Benz and I had took it next door to Midas for an oil change and they charged me well over 140 dollars and did an inspection wanted to charge me over 2.5k for brakes, wheel bearings and oil pressure hose. I took it next door to Mo's and inspected my car, got my brakes done for a way more affordable price. Man does he know Mercedes like no other, very intelligent guy. I came expecting another owner entirely and I would have gone elsewhere except the place looked so good and so professional and I had an emergency. My 2000 Ford Windstar was leaking coolant and it was getting worse. Was driving through Monterey (seaside) to San Francisco when my serpentine belt came apart. Turns out I needed to replace the harmonic balancer. Not an easy fix. Called around on a Saturday. Found out shortly after that most auto shops weren't open all but A1 luckily. Called at 8:30 and Tofer said he could take it right in and immediately started working on it. Nawar helped as well by continuously updating throughout the process. Took longer than anticipated but every minute was worth it. Like I said it was not an easy fix. Long story short, I had to bring the Jeep back here because they did not fix the entire problem. Because of this, they fully charged our battery, kept it overnight, and ran some tests to try to diagnose any further problems free of charge. They were unable to pinpoint our exact problem, but we marked the most likely source as some prior work that was done by another auto shop and is still under warranty. Update!! I almost broke down on hwy but managed to drive over to the shop and left my car for Mohammed to check out for me the following morning because my oil light Was on and car was shutting off. Mohammed found all the things that were wrong and even though it was more than I wanted to repair I know I needed to and being its my older work car I knew the car needed some love!
