They charge $120 for an oil change. They are nice, until you're comfortable with their pricing and they turn sour. Go somewhere else.

Ridiculous quote. Diagnosed my truck with a cracked flywheel, yet automatics do not even have a flywheel. Saved $1000 going somewhere else.

I know this because I have been changing my own engine oil my entire life. 1) Remove the drain plug. 2) Remove old filter. 3) Install new filter. 4) Replace drain plug. 5) Add new engine oil. That is ALL it takes. As a matter of company policy, they provide a very time-consuming safety inspection. It can take up to an extra hour! Knowing this, I respectfully waived the inspection, as my wife was waiting to be picked up from her office after work at 4pm. It should have worked out fine. They told me "NO", the safety inspection was mandatory. That is like you placing a food order, and asking for no onions on your burger, and them telling you it's company policy to add onions, and your request is denied. How would THAT make you feel? I sat in their lobby for TWO HOURS! I was out the door at 5:10pm and my poor wife sat in her office for over an hour past her clock out time. That infuriated me. Sullivan's Auto does not value your time and they do not respect your wishes. Their company policy safety inspection is nothing more than an attempt to up sell you with additional parts and labor. On a previous visit to Sullivan's Auto, they requested my home address for their computer records. I declined to reveal my personal data to them. They told me, "It is California state law to have the home address of customers", and they demanded my address again. I immediately conducted my own research and discovered there was no such law. They lied to my face to get my personal data. I will never return to this disreputable business again and I emphatically suggest that you don't either.

The mechanic was competent and did a good job fixing my car…read more However, the lady that works behind the counter to order parts and arrange payments did a very poor job and did not seem to care about customers at all. I was traveling through town and my battery died when I tried to start my car in the hotel in the morning. I called this repair shop because I needed my battery replaced quickly, so I could get back on the road. When I first spoke to the lady, she said that she could have a battery that fit my car, delivered to the shop in under an hour and they could install it right away. This sounded like a good solution. I went to the shop, they took out the old battery and the lady said the battery was on its way and should be there soon. I went to get lunch nearby and returned an hour later. To my surprise, there was no battery in my car. I asked the lady what was going on and she said there was some mix up with the battery supplier and the battery was never sent. She said it was the suppliers fault, that she just spoke to them and they were rushing over the battery now. I just had to wait another 20 minutes. I was not happy, but mistakes happen and another 20 minutes seemed okay. Another hour went by and there was still no battery delivery. I asked her again, where is the battery. All she could say is "the guy is on his way". 30 more minutes passed and still no battery. I was very annoyed and worried, because I had been waiting 3 hours for a battery, my car was disassembled and it was already 4pm at this point. To my surprise, the lady just closed-up the office and started to walk to her car to go home, leaving me there in the shop with no idea if my car was going to be fixed. Fortunately, the battery did arrive about 30 minutes later and one of the mechanics who was still around installed it for me. As I mentioned, the mechanic was good. But the lady is terrible at taking care of customers. She most likely created the problem by not ordering the battery from the vendor correctly (although she blamed them), took no ownership of solving the problem and essentially left to go home with the problem not resolved and with a customer left hanging. Also she quoted me $500 and when the mechanic went to charge me, it was $575. But since the lady went home already he had to charge me the higher price, since nobody could reach her.
