I know this is a hit or miss shop in the area, but every experience I've had is good. My first visit was in 2017 for a flat tire - repaired quickly with fair price. 2nd visit in Oct 2025 - I sent a car owner to the shop for an independent inspection when I considered buy his car. Results were as expected with a few surprises that led the car to getting junked. This was not my local shop & the car owner had never been to it either. I made appointment via phone & left specific info about follow up so we would both get a copy of the inspection results. Piece o' cake 3rd visit in Dec 2025 - My car needed an alignment due to pothole in Salinas. City Manager's office told me that I could request reimbursement since fault was by the City. Luis, Sullivan's service agent, understood the mission & made sure that car had a suspension inspection prior to the alignment. Safety is very important for all vehicles on the road. Alignment was completed, all fees remained consistent without surprises, and customer service was the best. I was provided with documentation (txt and paper copies) for my records & to file a claim. Waiting area is clean & well-stocked with a variety of beverages to keep us hydrated during our wait. Entire property is clean & well-maintained. I took my daughter car since I was busy (big mistake of my part ) for simple oil change They offered tire rotation for free lol And they did full inspection I was like wow this is a good deal (obviously not) They give me 2 pages I was like wow going need sell my daughter new car 2019 In all inspection they check my AXELS Serpentine belt (by the way charge $754 to change serpentine belt lol) Everything They never mentioned control arm NEVER THEY CALL ME CAR IS DONE my family we went small vacation never use the car into we got back My daughter drive call me right away that the car making noise when she turns The front tire rubbing the fender Never happens before also they never mentioned the control arms after they give me a huge list of problems This is the good part When I took the car they say maybe we hit the car when we was driving wow That the part is old And over anything they didn't do that to my car But that the manager assume we hit the car and have fix on a weekend lol is amazing I went for oil change They don't want take responsibility now need paid for fix something they broke And they say control arms are bad Something they never mentioned on the huge list they give me The hard part is how they treat you after they make a mistake Clearly they say F U find someone else Or take me to court The one really bather me is manager try say we hit or do something to the frame during the weekend From 75 dollars job now hundreds Thanks for nothing Now they say my frame was hit long time ago But that never that happens Into the rotation Again thanks for nothing Sullisucks read more

Car has 42k mies on it- took in in for a front end alignment, "JP" told me that the front control arms were "bent" and would have to be replaced immediately, JP stated that they could not perform the alignment work without first replacing the control arms, or the alignment would not work. JP quoted $ 1,400.00 for the new control arms JP also told me that there was water in the brake fluid and that would need to be replaced, also the transmission fluid needed to be replaced. I instructed him to replace the rear tire and change the engine oil, and I declined all other work. JP warned me that the car was not safe to drive! The next day I took the car to American Tire Depo, they aligned the front end, and checked the control ams( no issues) , I then went to J & D auto and theu nspected the brake fluid and found no issues.... read more

Stay away from here. They over charge & take advantage of senior citizens. My grandparents go in for a simple oil change & all of a sudden $800 later they have other issues. One of the mechanics says there is only synthetic oil and nothing else. Interesting because I can go to O'Riley or Auto Zone and they still have all types of engine oil. I had the best experience at Sullivan Tires just a few days ago. I needed a couple of new tires. Louis Flores was my sales rep. He's really a great guy, very friendly and knowledgeable. It was exceptionally great that he could call UBER for me so I didn't have to go through that hassle. They also arrange for an Uber driver to pick me up when they were finished putting my new tires on. I will definitely go back to Sullivan Tires again the next time I need Tires. Called around and found this place by chance. We are visiting here from Colorado and our heater core went out. Needed to get this done fast and they said they could deliver. Seemed a bit pricy but everything in this area is so whatever! Now the only thing I have to say negative is I wish the communication was better I had to always be the one calling. I was told it would be done by Thursday as they had all the parts in stock. They did get it done at the last hour and I truly appreciate it. We thought we had an issue and the mechanic Isaac stayed and met our concerns and eased our mind! I'm not sure where to start. If you live here you probably get their coupons in the mail. That may be enough to warn you. It's probably a decent place to go do your usual maintenance like air filters or oil changes but I think the buck immediately stops there. Heck maybe you just need a tire repair because you got unlucky with a nail in your tire. I felt particularly unlucky. I take our '13 Fit in for an oil change since it's been a year but it's a really low mileage car. I just want the basics done. However we had a larger battery than the stock one and it impeded my ability to change the engine air filter, so why not have a paid professional do it. We got the car back and the electronics behaved strangely. Instrument cluster was dark. No dome lights on. Really strange jiggling of the needles on the panel when turning the ignition. Power locks not working. Really strange electric behavior after service. We brought it back the next day and the shop feigned dumb and made us get the proper sized battery. Apparently that resolved the issue, but how does a car know what kind of battery it's getting. That's beyond me. What took the cake was what you see in the picture. I simply wanted the freon to be topped off for a road trip next week going past Fresno towards Kings Canyon. They had a coupon for AC service for $197. I compromised to agree to an inspection to fully know what was going on. I guess it turned out to be a full car inspection because my car was off the ground and all the wheels came off. I received the quote for AC compressor replacement including AC freon recharge totaling over $1300. Even a low effort search on RepairPal says about $1200. There was also a laundry list of maintenances or repairs that were recommended. It was certainly more than the user manual that Honda provides. I rolled my eyes because I personally change my air filters now. Honda's maintenance minder system literally tells you to when the transmission fluid should be serviced. Honestly at this rate, I can't afford their brake service. Fortunately, I'm easy on the brakes so I've been stuck at 3mm this calendar year. I'm little surprised they didn't point out my balding tires. Anyway, point is they'll make an effort to upsell you. Of course I said no. The desk person's face was priceless. And I wasn't too amused. I walked out seeing my freon caps on the windshield and I threaded them back in. Dude, I could have driven off with parts flying out of my car. So instead, I paid for an inspection and now AC servicing. I'm just $200 poorer now. You can have your bag of SmartFood Popcorn back. read more

I have been meaning to write this for a couple months at least, finally got around to it. I had a great experience bringing my company truck here. They specifically have Angie who handles all the fleet vehicles and it was great to experience compared to the last place I tried to take my truck into. Angie called and communicated with me well, and even offered to "get me a ride" I'm not sure if they have employees who pick up/drop off or if they would cover an Uber but she said if I needed a ride she could do that for me. They did have a slight slip up on communication once, one person over the phone told me my tires were installed then later Angie called back saying they were not installed yet... but wasn't too big of a deal because I found out before I went to pick up the truck and because I know the process of getting approval to do the work for these company vehicles... it's a lot of waiting on the approval from the fleet management company. They got my truck 4 new tires, 4 new Tire pressure sensors, and oil change. I think overall it was a great experience here with Angie and don't see myself taking my work truck anywhere else for services. read more

I have a 2004 Honda and have always gotten my tires from Sullivan's. And have also had oil changes. But yesterday was likely my last time going to them. I made an appt for a tire rotation and to check one of the tires for a nail because it had a slow leak and went flat the day before. Dropped my car off at 10:30am as requested. I hadn't heard back for 4 hours so I called at about 2:45. It was then that I was advised that they wouldn't rotate the tires nor fix the bad tire that had a screw in it, because my tires were dated 2016, and that they won't do any kind of work on tires older than 6 years old. (I don't drive much so the tires weren't that worn). He then said he would call me back with a estimate for 4 new tires. (Of course!) I declined. Why it took half the day to tell me they weren't gonna do what I brought it in for, and why was I the one making the call 4 hours later? They should have, and could have, called me as soon as they determined they wouldn't do the work. But they did have a list of a whole lot of another things they could do, some urgently needed and some not, totaling over $8000. On a 21 year old car. The thing that bothered me the most was not fixing the flat. Simple task. They let me drive off with a screw in my tire that caused a slow leak. The lack of concern (I'm a senior), was a real disappointment. Will NOT be going back! read more

The worst ever experience! I went there because I had a flat tire , they didn't want to check it or help because they were about to close. The sign still says open , and I went to them all the way from carmel and I arrive 15 minutes before the closing time. They told me to leave the car , and when I got in the morning they have them nothing to my car. I kept getting marketing from them as if nothing happened. This place is about making you feel bad about your car and asking you to replace stuff that they don't need to be replaced. The steering wheel started vibrating at 60-65 mph after 300-400 miles. I asked them to check the front wheel balance, and they immediately started trying to get me a front shock absorber diagnostic (about $100), even though they'd had a full diagnostic done 10 days earlier. I just a had a very unexpected poor experience here today. I originally set an appointment for 10/15/24 at 8am confirming an oil change, tire rotation, and alignment. When I arrived this morning, everything was fine and my three services were confirmed. The customer service was fantastic. After finding a few other issues with my vehcile, I was happy to hear the details and receive a quote for future service. The technician showing me the issues was fantastic as well. Upon check out, I was given my total invoice from a different gentleman which did not include the alignment. The attitude presented was as if no fault of their own and quickly trying to get me out of there. I also presented my oil change coupon and was advised firmly that they must be presented upon check in and my service was not going to be discounted. Just a quick back story, I have brought my Nissan Maxima here several times with the mail-in coupons and they have always been processed at the end of my service. I have never been advised to present the coupon upon arrival and no, I did not read the small print on the coupon LOL. Today, I decided to bring my wife's Toyota Camry in for the first time since service had been so good before on my Nissan. I do not know what happened between the two hours from arrival to the customer service upon departure, but this place has lost two regular local vehicles moving forward. My Service Advisor says Nathan McMillen on the invoice but I am unsure if this was the gentleman that checked me in the early morning or checked me out at 10:19 AM. I will be disputing the difference on my credit card I should have received on the oil change which is the only reason I have continued to support Sullivan's multiple times. Brought in my vehicle for an oil change. The oil was not leaking when I brought in the car for an oil change and was told after the service there was a slight drip coming from the oil pan. Drove the car home and woke up the next day with oil all over the driveway. They get you to bring your car in for the inexpensive oil change and then they make all their money on repairs. The oil nut and pan were fine until they changed the oil with the power gun which stripped the nut. I will never take my vehicle here again. Customer service was awful as well. read more

Cheapest oil change and nice people but don't come here if you're expecting your car to be done in a timely fashion. They will give you a time estimate for your car to be finished but add 1-2 hours on top of that estimated time. No hate for the business and maybe I got them on an off day but based on today's experience alone I don't recommend this business. read more

beware the upsell on non needed repairs. I brought in my car for an oil change ( there oil changes are discounted). I was to;d I needed a new air filter. I had changed the air filter less than 10 k miles before. Another time I was told I needed a break job. A different repair shop checked the breaks and told me I had 50% left and no break job was necessary, Further, they really don't have a reservation time, They will let you make a reservation but that is not for getting the work done, ithe reservation is just for allowing you to get on the work que. read more

I had a very bad experience here. I had all four tires replaced on my car and an alignment done. The very next day my front right tire went flat while driving on the highway with my daughter in the car. It happened quickly and was very frightening. Fortunately, I was near the exit and was able to get off the highway and park in a safe spot to call a tow truck. My daughter and I had to wait almost an hour in the dark for the tow truck, drop the car back at Sullivans and call a friend to get a ride home. When I spoke with Sullivan's about what happened they never once apologized or took responsibility for installing a faulty tire (or installing a good tire incorrectly). All they would admit was that they couldn't find a nail or any other object that would have caused the flat and then acted like they were doing me a favor by replacing the tire "free of charge". When I asked to be reimbursed for the tow they punted me to their warranty company who took over a month to respond and then only reimbursed me for half of the cost of the tow. Beware, they don't do installations well at Sullivans which could endanger you and your family and then they don't responsibility for their actions. read more

Got a flat while driving. Put air in tire and drove it to Sullivan - where I bought my tires originally. Warranty was up in May 2025, which I understand. They found a nail, but said my tire couldn't be repaired. First told me I needed 4 new tires. What? This is my spare car. I don't drive it much. Then that changed to I could get just 2 tires and quoted me over $1000. Then it went to I could get 2 new tires and not the alignment. That took me down to $900. Before he got to 1 tire without alignment, I asked for my key back and drove to another local tire store. They said the tire could be fixed - the tire is still good and I don't need to replace my tires. They wouldn't be able to get to my car until later in the day. I went over to Costco to waste some time and checked in with their tire service. Long story short...they fixed my tire for $13. Told me I did not need new tires for "quite a while" Do better Sullivan. I was a customer of yours for a long time. Not sure what changed, but I'll never be back. read more

I called Sullivan's for a quote for new spark plugs. They scheduled me to come in the next morning to physically check if I needed new spark plugs. Upon arrival Sullivan's conducted a vehicle inspection and proceeded to show me repairs needed but no mention of the spark plugs condition. When I asked if the spark plugs looked like they needed replacing, the technician told me they do not physically check them because of location they are in is not easily accessible. An hour and a half later I received a quote for over $6,000 in repairs they noted I needed when all I wanted was spark plugs. Most repair quotes were way over industry standard pricing. Needless to say I left appalled at their business tactics of having me come to their business, waste my time, try to sell me thousands of dollars in repairs when they could have just quoted me the spark plugs pricing via phone. I left not purchasing any repairs and will never recommend or return to Sullivan's again. read more

We had been using Sullivan's Tires for decades. Mostly great management. I got tires earlier this year. I made an appointment for 8:30 AM. Waited until noon and had to leave. The next day the same thing happened. They said they would take my car at 8 AM but the car wasn't even up on the racks until noon. The manager seemed put off that I was upset by the time I had to spend there buying and receiving tires from them. I asked why so early and my car is in so late? He explained that's how it works. (new to me) I bought tires there. I also bought insurance. When I brought my tire back in because of a nail I got a new tire but they charged $200 to mount it. In the end the manager only made me pay $100. I'll still not go back. Many people told me Monterey Peninsula Tires but Sullivan's had been so good in the past. So sad to see a favorite family run business change for the worst and not the better. read more

Just wanted to give another update. I came back from driving 1600 miles to/from Southern AZ in the M3 only to discover an industrial sized staple in my back tire. My tires cost ~$400 each so I was really worried it punctured through and would need to be replaced. I called Sullivans at the end of the business day and they got me an appointment first thing in the morning the following day. When I got there, the whole inspection took maybe 15 minutes max. The woman who helped me was so nice, didn't make me feel stupid and was able to remove the staple and confirm the tire wasn't leaking any air. The best part is that it was totally free. Saved me a ton of worry and it was really fast and easy. I'm sad I'm moving in a few months because it's tough to find trustworthy people in the automotive industry as a female customer. Disappointing communication for such a "well-established" looking shop. I was told over the phone that they'd be willing to check my check engine light and would be able to do a quick oil change. When I arrived they wanted to charge me $202 for an OBD2 scan and also wanted me to wait 2 hours for an oil change. You can find a much better deal literally anywhere else. read more
