Oh how I miss Sandy Spring Bank! My family and friends have all banked with them for over 20 years…read more Once they were sold to Atlantic Union Bank they were ruined. Nothing has gone right with us since the changeover. My husband has tried three times to set up bill pay, and every time it says everything is all set, we end up getting a notice from the utility companies that our bill wasn't paid. Just received our tax forms and they make no sense at all. Not one thing has gone right since Sandy Spring Bank was sold to Atlantic Union. Plan on closing all of our accounts as soon as possible. So are a lot of our friends. What a shame. Guess the days of a local bank where you actually knew the people you were dealing with and had a rapport with them are over.

This is a two or three-star review of the bank that replaced Sandy Spring Bank - Atlantic Union…read moreBank. Unfortunately, the merger that occurred has not led to anything positive. Services have disappeared, and while new staff are trying, they do not have the expertise of the people who used to be in the branches of SSB. Services which every bank should have - for instance, access to online tax statements, or available pictures of checks on statements (either on or offline) are not available. Records which should have been available after a merger are not available to customers - unless they go into a branch and get written records which are not complete. Sandy Spring was known for its very good customer service. That has not transferred to the new entity. Like I said - the new management is trying. But I'm not at all sure how much longer I'm willing to try to make a banking relationship work.

This is a scam, they charge more legal fees, monthly fees, service fees and settlement fees, you…read morewould pay more than the actual amount you own fully at the end of the period. They trap you using the settlement as bait so that you can never opt out when you realize what they are doing. You can reach the same settlements by your own by talking to creditors and you will save thousands of dollars in fees. They will drag it out as long as they possibly can to steal your money. Don't fall for it, i wish I didn't. The 5 star reviews are also fake, posted by them.

Avoid this company at all costs. I've been trying to cancel my account for the past two weeks, and…read moreall I've gotten is the runaround. They keep asking for information about my bankruptcy lawyer, which is completely personal and none of their business--especially after I've already made the decision to terminate my account. They have no authority or say over what I choose to do after ending services with them. One agent in particular, Asa, has been especially unprofessional. While other agents were easier to deal with, he continuously made unnecessary comments, insisting that my legal information is "public record" and that he could look it up himself. If he has that kind of time, that's on him--but it felt invasive and completely out of line. This company lacks follow-through, respect for client privacy, and basic customer service. I wouldn't recommend DebtRx to anyone.
