Kevin (the inspector) was very knowledgeable and answered all of my random questions that came from being a first time homebuyer. To our recollection we have never posted a negative review, but our experience with Blue Best…read morewarrants one. We met with Blue Best late in 2024 to discuss our concern with air temps in our house, specifically temps in our living room and kitchen, which have high ceilings and southern exposure and become uncomfortably hot in summer. We were very clear about our concern, and the salesperson spent hours assessing our home and assured us his proposed system would solve the problem. We accepted the ~$14,000 bid to install a heat pump solution based on that assurance. By summer 2025, the living room and kitchen were still too hot on most sunny days. Despite many service visits and repeated adjustments (baffles, registers, fan speeds, etc.), the issue was never resolved. Blue Best ultimately stated the system was operating as designed and implied the problem was with our home, not their installation.  In our opinion, Blue Best is very good at selling a solution, but not so good at ensuring that solution meets what the customer needs. Two independent HVAC contractors opined: -Our ductwork is in good condition. -The thermostat, furnace, and compressor Blue Best installed were not properly matched. -Basic industry-standard load calculations (e.g., Manual J) were apparently not done, which would have shown the system was undersized for our home's layout, windows, and sun exposure. Blue Best has declined to remove the system or refund our payment, instead relying on fine print in the contract. We are now pursuing legal options. We have since spent ~$12,000 on a mini-split system from another contractor, which works as intended. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Blue Best and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

Within the hour, James called and asked for more details and let us know he was on his way. He came out, confirmed our AC's time of death, and arranged for Rich to come out and provide estimates for a replacement. Rich was here (again, within half an hour) to measure the house and provide us with a few options to choose from. Since I had to be away for an appointment and my husband had been supervising the visit, Rich texted me to make sure I got the quotes and answered my questions quickly and efficiently. We made our decision within the hour and the team bent over backwards to make time to install it on Tuesday. Corbin and Jesse showed up right on time today and worked through lunch to get our new AC system up and running. They were efficient, friendly, and very helpful. The condenser dates from 2004 and the inside portion dates from 1994 (original to the house.) So the idea that things were terminal isn't all that out there. Turns out worst fears were unwarranted. The capacitor had failed and required replacement and I concurred with him that changing the contactor was prudent as well (18+ years of cycling on & off, why not?) I called his number at 0800, Mike called at 0946, showed a few minutes later. He was done & driving away by 1030. System fixed, washed down and blowing cold air. I couldn't be happier.
