I drove a friend to pick up her car from A2Z for a state inspection. They advertised a price of $150, but when presented the bill they had tacked on 10% more for "shop materials". This is an old trick that I know from having worked in an auto shop years ago. They are basically passing on to their customers something that should be an overhead expense to them. When I complained and asked the guy to remove the charge, he got nasty with me. In addition they charge 3.99% if you use a credit card...something that should also be an overhead expense of the business. DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. IT IS A RIP-OFF. read more

Normally I'm skeptical about places right off of the highway. I came here needing an inspection and it was time sensitive so this is the only place that could get me in the same day. Z, the owner was really helpful and explained everything about the vehicle that he found when doing the inspection. The woman working at the front desk was also really helpful and nice. I will be scheduling more work I need here in the future. In the future I will be getting an alignment and tire balance here. They have a really expensive new alignment machine that inspires confidence that the alignment will be the best that money can buy . Not too many places you can trust anymore but this place is a good one. read more

Avoid this dishonest shop. They really need an option for negative stars. Took an older Audi to them for a state inspection: They charge more than anyone else in the area for the inspection $125, but they don't tell you up front. I guess the flashing sign in the front might alert you to the up-charge, if it was legible. Oh and then to add insult to injury they charged an extra $4.99 for using a debit card. This DISHONEST shop thought they could make some quick cash by drumming up $1,100 in unneeded repairs. The front bumper cover had a tear in it and they said the front bumper needed to be replaced. The cover can be completely missing, what counts is the piece of steel behind it. Apparently they thought they could pull one over on me, and I would rather blow the money than risk moving a car with no tags. They were wrong. I will not do business with someone who tries to steal from me. Hope the $125 was worth it. Update: Took the car back to Cheseldine, they reinspected, and it passed without replacing ball joints, bumper covers, or wipers (really, wiper blades). The inspection also cost $50 dollars less. read more

HIGHLY recommend that customers steer clear of these crooks. Took my son's car here for an inspection. They called me and quoted me a price for repairs, seemed reasonable so I told them to move forward. Never heard from them and had to call back to find out status of repairs only to find out that they were already done. Go to pick the car up and the total is way more than what was quoted due to a part being "obsolete." They never called to get approval for the higher cost and moved forward with the repairs anyways. When we told them that we did not approve this, it didn't matter to them since they said that they "left us a voicemail, we never returned their call, and they couldn't leave the car in the air." Mind you we never received a voicemail but verified that they had the correct number. When we asked to speak to the owner we were denied because he was on vacation. They absolutely would not work with us on their decision to spend our money without our permission. Oh and you have to pay in cash or pay an insane service fee (the amount of the fee depends on the cost of your repair). They all but refused to accept our credit card and kept saying "You can go to the ATM right next door at PNC to get the cash." Sounds like they don't want a paper trail of the money they receive. A to Z ... no thanks! I will never come back not even for Hertz and will definitely not recommend to anyone. read more

I was just ripped off by some other people so I decided to go to A2Z rentals, put my vehicle in the shop ,use the rental to get around, the shop call said my vehicle had more issues, so I decided to postpone the repair till i had more money. This all took place within a couple of hours, so I then decided to return the rental THAT SAME DAY. Mind you, I had rented it for 2 days. They now only want to return my $50. Deposit. CRAZY... I WANT ALL OF MINES BACK minus that days use, of course. read more

If you are a non-smoker stay away! When we picked up our car it REEKED of cigarette smoke. I am also 9 months pregnant so we had our infant carseat in the vehicle and even that completely smelled like cigarettes. It is absolutely disgusting. So far I have cleaned everything and tried to air it out. (This is such an awesome task to be doing while 9 months pregnant). However, it has been a few days and it STILL SMELLS!! I am concerned about having to bring my child home from the hospital in a vehicle that smells of cigarettes. It is absolutely unacceptable. I called and spoke to Bill and he said that they can bomb it for me but he didn't have any other offers or solutions. I wasn't upset with how Bill responded but certainly wasn't impressed. The reality is , I don't want them in my vehicle again so for me that is not a helpful solution. read more

Sitting here in lobby half an hour waiting to get car reinspected. On thing worse is (1) lady in front of me who's been waiting an hour longer cause A2Z told her to come in @0745 - inspector JUST arrived at 0845. As to inspection price is about right $75. They of course offer the fixes but I got better parts and DIY so am sucked into reinspect fee mode - ok its a business! Big hang up on these folks is the laissez faire atmosphere - 2 front desk guys with really nothing to do. Since I am solution oriented and not out to slam them I think the gm Bill that Randy thinks so highly of needs to high octane high protein his staff particularly his inspector(s) to get their @ss to work on time and overcommunicate to their clients the status of their service/ repair. If in the budget hire more wrench turners? Front desk is covered. I don't think their intentionally bad just lackadaisical and I won't be coming back I'm afraid. For what it's worth. read more

NEGATIVE ZERO rating! This place is HORRIBLE! The place is Gross! The front desk guy was more interested finishing his greasy food than taking my information for repairs. They are DISHONEST people! RIP- OFFs! Take your vehicle any place else but here! I Do NOT recommend this Place at all. I recently purchase a vehicle and I needed it inspected. The manager wanted to know if the vehicle was for my use or for sale? I don't understand why I was asked that question? Is there a repair cost difference in either? I was then told that my vehicle needed repairs and was quoted about $800.00 and that my vehicle would not pass inspection without those much needed repairs, I was told that all repairs needed to be done within 30 days or pay another $75.00. I decided to get a second opinion and I got two quotes from two other repair shops. These two other repair shops told me that the repairs that A2Z said I needed was not true and what's funny is that A2Z's reputation with other garage establishments is not good and they told me to stay away from them. I took the same vehicle to another service center and was charged a total of $46.00 for the "Real" needed repairs and my vehicle passed inspection. Do not give your hard earned money to this place! SHAME ON YOU A2Z, SHAME ON YOU for trying to RIP-OFF a senior citizen! read more

Had my whole front end redone through a separate company a couple of month ago. Brought my car in to get a vehicle inspection and they said my wheel bearings needed to be tightened. Which at first I thought ok that makes sense, but then after sitting in the lobby I heard them telling a couple of other people that they needed their wheel bearings tightened too. So that makes me think? Is it just a way for them to make extra money of you while doing your safety inspection? Also don't bother making an appointment. I showed up 15 minutes early to my appointment and they still said they wouldn't be able to work on mine for an hour. read more

I rented a car from there. The car was dirty, and it had less than a quarter tank of gas in it. When I returned the car, someone came out before I could remove my things from the car, and started looking the car over. If that wasn't enough, they told me that I couldn't get my deposit back for 10 days. 10 days get here, they told me I had to wait til 6pm ( it's 4:55pm now) to get my deposit because that's when the owner will be there. I come back at 6pm, the owner isn't there, but the same guy that told me to come back at 6pm, pulled out a checkbook, and wrote me a check for my deposit. I paid cash. read more
