I knew the key and remote would be expensive since it had a chip in it and it needed to be programed. Every dealership I talked to were kind of rude, as if my business was not really needed, or more like they knew I needed them, so why bother being helpful. Even worse though, was how little they knew about my car. No one I spoke to seemed to know for sure how to program my remote, none had the key in stock, etc. I called AA and could tell they knew what they were talking about. Once I confirmed that they had the key and remote and that they would be there (sometimes everyone is out on a call) I drove over and they had the key and remote ready for me in 20 minutes. They had a nice waiting area for me to wait in and they were just as nice as can be. This is the way these things are supposed to work. People who are helpful, welcoming and competent. Avoid the dealership and call them when you need car keys or are locked out of your car. Support these kind of specialized shops. read more

Wow, I arrived at work and locked my keys in my car. I got onto yelp, found AA Express and with all of the positive reviews, called them first. Before 8am, they answered the phone and it is now 8:27 and I'm back in my office with my car keys in hand. SUPER FAST and the tech couldn't have been nicer or made me feel safer. These guys are wonderful. When the magic key fob for my car died, I had a couple of spare blanks I had bought from Amazon but I had no idea what to do to make them functional. I called a nearby locksmith and when he found out my car was a 2000 Passat he told me to call Express Locksmith instead. I called them up, asked a few questions (including price), and headed over to see them. Within 45 minutes they had not only programmed my new fobs and cut the proper keys for me, they had also reprogrammed my old fob, which is now working perfectly again. We had a friend lock himself out of his truck today with a dog inside. I called a few places and either a voicemail or no one available. Then I called Gresham Locksmith and they were 2 hours out but referred me to AA express. I called them and the guy who answered the phone said the next available locksmith is 45mins to an hour out.(it was 4:10 and they close at 5 i think) That was good news and he said only $85.... 30 minutes later, the guy who I spoke to on the phone came to our rescue. He said the next locksmith was going to be longer than they thought, so he rushed out to do it himself.. Pretty amazing... I don't do reviews often.. but this place is worth it for sure. read more

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this business!!! Unfortunately, my already broken key had gotten stuck inside the ignition of my car and would not budge when I tried to turn the car on. This happened the day before I left to study abroad! Luckily I found AA Express Locksmith and decided to get my car towed to them. They had initially quoted me $575 (still half of what the dealership would have asked for) to fix everything including my key. In just a few hours they made a new key for me and had solved the issue without even having to replace the ignition. They also went ahead and charged AAA for my key replacement! Went there to get 2 keys cut for my car. Great deal since I got 2 done and they cut them from VIN, not copied off of your old key. $20. Both worked perfect and I was going to program them myself. (Bear) very nice employee said he didn't think I could but I gave him info.. Said he had to do it himself to believe it. Didnt even charge me for the extra effort. I was referred to AA from another locksmith company in Portland - they copied the key to a 2013 Corolla for half the cost of what the dealership quoted me. They were fast and professional. The gentlemen in the shop were wonderful. I had been looking for my car key in my house for 3 hours when I finally gave up. AA Express was the second place I called. Initially my quote was 150. The gentleman asked me all kinds of questions to see what I really needed. I decided to go with just a standard key and not a fob because the key is in my house. I was able to ride over on my bike, I saved some money because I could come to them. They were very helpful and nice. We bought a used Honda Fit Sport that only came with one key fob. We decided to save some money by buying a replacement key fob online and have it cut by AA express (instead of being the blank key at twice or 3x the price from a locksmith). Without checking that the fob we bought would work with our car, he cut it first and then told us that we had bought the incorrect key fob. It was fine that he charged us $50 for it, bc the mistake was ours, but when we asked if we could put that toward a credit toward getting the correct keys recut after straightening that out with the inline vendor, we were told that we'd have to pay the entire $50 again. That is super bad customer service, because I only get a key fob cut every 5 or 10 years but they do it every day so they should have made sure that we had the right key before cutting it. since the work they did took a total of 10 minutes, it's also bad customer service to tell me that my $50 is a total waste of money and I'll have to pay ANOTHER $50 for 10 more minutes of labor when I bring in the correct key fob... I am a self-employed small business and I cannot imagine providing such bad customer service. Needless to say, we went elsewhere to program the correct key. read more

My car was broken down due to a problem with my ignition and key. I got it towed to this place the next day. They fixed it within a few hours and called me with updates. Abe even threw in an extra ignition key and made it so my key opens my trunk (did not before). They even helped me figure out a way to pile my bike in my trunk (gave me some cords, etc.). If you like to wait on hold and have your time wasted - Call them! I contacted them through my roadside auto assistance company as they are a preferred vendor. The guy answering the phone who's name starts with a "J" instantly put me on hold because there was a baby locked in a car - I was ok with that that's a legitimate need to put someone on hold. About 30 seconds, no big deal again I fully understand that. Once he came back he heard my request to have a key cut for my VW. without saying anything he put me on hold and called the dealer. When he returned 2 minutes later, I told him I already had the blank and I only needed it cut. I wanted to set up a time for me to stop by for the service. He put me on hold again, and came back to say they only did mobile service... Okay I'm ok with that, I asked when? He put me on hold again. He then said I'd have to tow the vehicle in... I informed him I had a key, I just wanted a spare and the vehicle was mobile and I'd just drive it in whenever they were available. Basically "J" was figuring out he couldn't make any mark up on parts, towing and just wanted what should have been a simple key cut. Although it is one of those fancy laser cut keys and would still be a $100 sale he basically told me it wasn't worth their time. I recently did an online purchase for a replacement remote key less FOB for my '99 Pontiac Grand AM. Turns out, my make and model required a professional re-pro from a locksmith or dealer. I did some research and found this place clear across town from where I live. When I got there, these guys are straight-up legit and they know their stuff. At first, the rep thought the FOB was only a shell case but after opening it up found that it was a possible bad battery inside....and it was. I don't think I was there for more than 20 mins by the time all said and done. I spent $45 for the re-pro and $4 for the new battery and worth every penny of it, not to mention, the customer service is unmatched! I can't speak on anything else other than this current dealing but I can say this.....anyone else I would have dealt with in town, I would have spent nothing less than $85 and (can't honestly say) have the same customer service.
