This place is perfection. I've now been twice and I'm contemplating going back again this afternoon. Clean, quiet, no-frills, and exactly what you need. Either walk-in or stop by to make an appointment. Extremely efficient. And oh so affordable. The therapist worked quickly to find exactly where my body needed some relief. I don't think there was a muscle or part of the body he didn't twist, push, knead and generally just make into mush. I felt great after I left and continue to today. This isn't Burke Williams or the Ojai Valley Inn Spa, but frankly, I prefer it. The therapists get right down to business and focus on your body. It's just what I needed. read more

Had a great massage at this place. This is a Chinese massage which is harder pressure and focus more on pressure points to help with release tension muscles. (People who enjoy deep tissue will most likely be the ones who'd enjoy these type of massages.) I have been there before and enjoyed a relaxing foot massage but today was not acceptable . I took my grandson 16 for a massage his masseuse was rude and not very good. I read another review about her and it stated she asked for a tip -scan the reviews and you will find it . When we checked out she kept pointing to the bill as if to say Where is my tip ? I had it in my hand and after that almost didn't give it to her ! Another male masseuse was coughing and hacking constantly . I told them he should be wearing a mask . This place is great! I've had a fair share of massages and I don't think I've ever felt as relaxed and rejuvenated as I did here! We walked up on a Sunday afternoon around 3 and it was quite crowded with a long list ahead of us. We were told to come back in an hour so we killed some time at the local cafe and went back around 4. Their check-in system was strange and seemed inefficient. I was with a friend and she was taken back to her massage 15mins ahead of me and for a hot second I thought they forgot about me. The massage portion was really nice. I got the combo massage- laid on the table for 30mins and then in the reflexology chair for 30mins (I do have to say that the chair wasn't very comfortable but it was fine). The lady giving me my massage (I think her name was Joy or Hope??) did a really great job- she kept checking in on the pressure and really focused on the areas I felt tension. On vacation from Washington state, visiting family in Oak View and the driving and walking was killing me, so I decided to try out Relaxing Station and I was not disappointed!! The atmosphere is relaxing, the people are friendly and the price is just right! I got the 60 min full body massage and it really was the FULL body haha. The guy I had really worked out all the kinks and knots from the tip of my head to the tips of my toes. He used a little reflexology and massaged my head like no ones business. Mediocre at best. Their strongest massage, rated at 7, was not nearly strong enough, and the woman who gave it to me was purely going through the motions. I got the 60 minute $35 massage. I left feeling more stressed about spending the money. They don't speak a lick of English, and the fully clothed thing is just weird. I always check out the off site massage establishments because I refuse to pay $150 for 50 minutes ( not including gratuity). I do not need all the frills. Thanks to Yelp, I found a great place in Ojai similar to home. This place has one thing that home does not that I absolutely love- they can give a full boys massage ( clothes on ) without any oil. I know, I know, I am very particular when it comes to this, but I have never come across anywhere that give an oil free massage. I always have to take a shower after a massage because of the oils, but not today! So reasonable, as I was on the table I decided to add thirty more minutes for a separate foot massage. ( There is a sign that says after your foot massage you can stay on the sofas for thirty minutes if they don't have any customers.) I did hear the dogs getting groomed next door, but that's ok, for the price of the service, I'll take it. read more

Very friendly staff. They undercharge for the quality of the massage. You can customize the style (full body, chair, mix) and they strength/speed of the massage. Great people, very good work. I would give it 5 Stars especially for the area. But there are some limitations. Some of the therapists don't speak much English, which is ok but they have no receptionist at the desk. So when some customers cone in they have to wait five or ten minutes for someone to come up, and they may not be able to answer your questions. However, the place and people are great! When you walk in, right away put your name on the sign up paper. You need not fill out the rest, but it holds your place in line, if someone else calls or congress in. They have a cool computer screen on the desk that shows you who's working and how long before each is free. I love coming here when I'm in the area. They stay open late and they've always given great massage at a great price. They're tucked behind the arcade on Matilija Street by the coffee shop. It's a nice, quiet location and it's always very neat and clean. They have nice music playing and they have several options for your massage, as well. I've always left feeling great and relaxed. I've never had to wait for more than five minutes and they always give me a bottle of water after my massage, which is always nice. This place truly is amazing. I've been multiple times and have never had a bad experience. A few days ago I pulled a muscle in my back, and after my doctor suggested getting a massage, I called them right away and was able to get right in. My back was in so much pain and I'm not sure what they did but the pain is completely gone. Only $45 for one hour (15 minutes of it being a foot massage), and if you want less time it's cheaper. I'm not sure why anyone would leave a bad review (maybe they just happened to have a fluke type experience), but I never leave reviews for anywhere and felt the need to give a good review because it was that great of an experience. read more

Hands down consistently the best Chinese massage I've had anywhere for the price. I have to admit I'm a massage junkie. I've been to Chinese style massage places all over California as well as in Oregon, Washington, New York, and internationally when I travel and this place is amazing. There is not just 1 talented practitioner but several. Yes you'll need to make sure you communicate about any boundaries or issues you are having and you won't get a lot of small talk. You will get much more more value than you would pay for elsewhere. If you have't experienced Chinese massage before you will be in an open room with several other people. Don't worry. Chinese massage is a clothes on experience. Don't expect tinkle-y music or candlelight. That's not what this experience is all about. The place is mostly quiet (save some customers that aren't aware) and I've found it to be clean. Foot massage is great too. Generally you can get in without an appointment almost any day. Such a wonderful relaxing experience! My friend is visiting me from out of state for just the weekend. We decided to try the Asian foot massage place on a Sunday afternoon and I'm so glad we did. This place has super cheap rates, and I know that you get what you pay for, but damn. After a fully clothed below mediocre pounding, my "masseuse" announced "finished" roughly and pulled me up. I laid down a little sore, and sat up with intense searing neck pain. I get massages weekly for years, and I have never experienced anything like this. I went to pay and he asked me 4 times after I said to put five dollars on - they make u add the tip in advance so they can run it as not a tip which is shady, and since I was tipping $2 less than 20%, he aggressively wanted me to change my mind. How much? How much? How much? I nearly had to shout. Then, to add a second insult to an actual injury, their credit card machine wasn't working. I understand that things happen, but five people muttering around a machine for 20 (I watched the clock tick) minutes with intense neck pain, telling you nothing when you ask what the issue is, is unbearable. They broke the chip in one of my credit cards, most likely by treating it as carelessly as my neck, and when I finally demanded to know what was going on and gave them another card they couldn't figure that out either. After 20 minutes I suggested I go to an ATM, and the guy FOLLOWED ME OUT AND TRIED TO GET IN MY CAR TO GO WITH ME. I paid, and I tipped, but I will never ever go there again and you shouldn't either. I was laying face down on the table when the woman who massaged me a couple weeks ago starts talking in my ear. She said the price of massage went from $35 to $40. So last time instead of $7 I usually leave she only got $2. She said I owe her $5. I told her to leave me alone I was in the middle of my massage. Well, I guess the quality depends. I've had a couple of massages that were awesome. I went in today thinking I'd get more of the same, especially since the LMT was someone who worked on me before. But today, even though I asked for "very slow" and the lowest level of intensity--a 1 on a scale of 10--it felt like "medium" and a level 3. It was NOT relaxing. I came to Ojai for my birthday weekend for some R & R...and on Tuesday I decided to go into town and get a massage at the Aa Relaxing Station...I am here to tell you that for $35 for an hour of a full body massage I think I died and went to heaven...Jack was the massage therapist for me and he was FABULOUS...I circled number 6 on the intensity level they ask you to fill out before you start...(they go as high as 7) and it was deep pressure...I never knew my ears could feel so good getting massaged. I didn't have to wait at all, they took me right away! I would highly recommend this place to anyone and next time I'm in Ojai I'll be back. The therapists are all equally good as I have never had a less than excellent massage and I have been going since they opened. I have been going here for four years and I usually enjoy the massage. The last two massages I got in June and July were terrible. The massage therapist kept grinding the knot in my muscle over the bone in the same spot. The massage was very mechanical and was causing me pain. They were not connected or aware that they were causing me pain. I had to ask twice to lessen the pressure. The head massage hurt, again just rubbing my scalp hard in fast circles, the technique left my hair in a giant knot. I was going to ask them to stop this too but I felt bad to keep complaining. I bought my boyfriend a massage as a gift (it was his first time there). He was also disappointed with his massage. He's not a complainer, so it had to be bad. We both love massage, we were both disappointed. I think they need to work on their technique, it's not relaxing and it did not help my back. My neck and sciatica were tense and sore after (not before). Such a bummer because I like the friendly staff and low key atmosphere. But the technique they use is not good in my opinion. Great. Too many choice in Ojai. I love a good massage, but found myself paralyzed by all the options. I realize there are many tastes in massage, but I wanted only a firm massage with someone who knew how to work my knots. No only did I walk out standing taller and straighter because he worked on what I wanted, he also worked on other areas that I wouldn't have asked for, but were clearly in need. We were enjoying a beautiful day in Ojai. My wife wanted to get a foot massage. We called AA Relaxing Station and asked when we could come in. We set an appointment for two people at 4. We showed up 20 minutes early and waited 20 minutes. At that point they tried to take only one of us. We asked what about the other one of us and they smiled and said it will be 20 minutes. No apology, no explanation. They were trying to be be sneaky about the fact that they had messed up. They should have simply told my wife that they did not have enough people working that day and it was first-come, first-served, rather than wasting our time. They checked us in when we arrived and could simply have told us at that point that it was going to be a 40-minute wait. I have never been in a place that cared less about the customer. This place is dishonest and does not honor appointments. Never again. read more
