The time finally came to refinish our hardwood floors. AA Rental has the sander and edger kit at a reasonable rental, and their counter staff was helpful with advice on how to do the job with the most efficiency and least possible mess. Great place to rent from! My first experience with AA rental was when my sump pump broke. They had several models to choose from and explained which one would be best for my situation. We then rented tents from them for a party we had in August. They had a lot of tents to choose from, and they came to our house set up the tents and removed them the day after our party. I have since been back to rent various tools and have always had a good experience. read more

Working with AA Rental Center was pretty cheap and easy. I reviewed their packages and rates on their website, chose one (a certain size tent with tables and chairs), called and reserved it. Just like that. Then I called and changed to a different package (another size tent with tables and chairs). Then I called and cancelled part of the package (the tent) and kept the rest (tables and chairs). Done and done. They delivered the tables and chairs a day or two early and then picked them up the day after my event. They were nice tables and chairs and in great condition! Eh - I suppose it wasn't QUITE as I described. There was a little going back and forth on the phone. You know, someone is supposed to call me back and then doesn't. Whatever. It wasn't a big deal and didn't get in the way of my groove. I would have liked a little more guidance about dimensions. Dimensions mean practically nothing to me and I didn't know what size tent to get. AA Rental Center was only a couple blocks from my event sight so I thought it'd be easy for them to advise me about the size I should get. They were like, "Naw... you're on your own with that one." I love that they were so flexible. I also appreciate that their cancellation policy is more generous than other tent rental places. read more

We needed to rent a stump grinder and Dave ( I think that was his name) was sooo helpful!! We were absolutely clueless on what we needed to do the job and he got us squared away with all the right tools. We rented the grinder and they let us borrow a trailer to get the machine back to our house. We didn't end up using it for the whole rental amount and got money back. Def coming back! read more

I'm posting this review here because the owner also owns Bens Rentals in Hodgkins and this was my experience with that shop as well as the owner, Luke. I Had 2 Pressure washers that needed repairs so I brought them to Bens Rentals. I told them 1 had an issue with the pump and the other worked fine but needed a tune up and had a broken piece on the choke arm. They said sounds good and that they'd reach out. The one machine needed to completely replace the pump which I passed on and the other machine would be fixed for a reasonable price I was told, so I said go ahead. When I picked up the machine, I was told all was good. Without my permission they had replaced the arm parts as needed, but with parts from MY other machine. They also replaced the muffler and air filter also by taking the parts off my other machine. I was annoyed that they fixed one machine by making the other one worse but decided to let it slide. I got my machines back and after 3 days(waited for warmer weather) decided to start up the machine. Instantly I noticed the machine was 3 times louder than its ever been. Also the machine used to go into an idle speed when not releasing pressure but now was running full speed all the time. I also tried messing with the choke (the main part of the machine I needed fixed) and it literally did nothing, didn't affect the machine in any way. After trying to fiddle with it for 5 minutes the machine completely shut off on its own. I tried the pull cord and the engine was completely locked up and ruined. When I brought it back to the store, John the "mechanic" was instantly defensive and rude. Basically told me that I brought in "2 pieces of junk" and he did all he could do to fix the one. The next thing I asked him is if he replaced the oil in the machine. I'm under the impression that if you bring a small engine into a shop for a tune up, the first thing checked and changed would be the oil. His reply was "You never told me to check the oil". I also never told anyone to specifically change the spark plug or the air filter and muffler, but somehow they knew to check those things while doing a tune up. After speaking to John and listening to him say over and over again that my professional pressure washer with a Honda engine(one of the best engine makers there is)is "a piece of junk and what did I expect" I tried to contact Luke, the owner. and after listing off what was wrong with the machine he told me people just walked into his store and he'd call me back right away. After 2 hours he had another employee call me back and tell me they'd refund the $170 they charged me to scalp parts off my second machine to my first. I told him that after them working on my machine, charging me money for a done job and telling me I was good to go with that machine, only to get something that was way worse off then when I brought it in there and now was absolutely useless, that It was unacceptable. He told me this was a conversation that I should be having with Luke, the owner, who I called talked to, was ignored and then had someone else call to talk to me...Finally I called back to Luke and told him the above and he said the exact thing his mechanic had said earlier. That my machine was a piece of crap and "what did I expect". All he could do is refund what I paid or "give me an estimate to replace the engine" that his mechanics ruined. I even told him, i'm not looking for a brand new pressure washer replacement, but the least he could have done is try to work with me or at least replace the engine on my current machine but he told me "that stuff like this happens, and that I need to just move on" and then hung up. If you are looking for quality repair work, or good customer service, please, please look somewhere else. It will save you from the rude and disrespectful conversations, hundreds of dollars lost out of my pocket and the headache I'm currently having. read more

I was very happy when I placed the order with AA rental center for a manual crank snow cone machine. However, I called back a few days later to ask about syrup for the machine and I was told $9. I asked if that included a pump and syrup and a guy named Luke assured me that it did and that I could just pick it up the day of since they always have them. When I went back to pick up the machine and I asked for the syrup, the much older guy told me it was an extra $6 per pump. I told him that when I called and asked, that I was told $9 for the pump and syrup. The much older guy told me that I probably didn't phrase the question right to whomever was working. I told him I specifically asked for the person's name so that I could ensure that this price was correct and asked him if he had a person named Luke working. He said he did, but that he wasn't available now because he was working in back, but if I wanted the pump, it was an extra $6, he didn't care what the other worker told me on the phone. I was fuming mad and all he kept saying was that if I didn't want to pay the $6 per pump, I would not get them. He had horrible people skills and would not fess up to the fact that somebody who worked for him quoted a customer a wrong price and he would not honor it. That is not the way to conduct business. Then, while he was trying to talk to me, I didn't look at him in the eye, and he yells at me, "I'm talking to you!" I was fed up, walked out of the store and was shocked at how rude someone conducting a business would talk to a customer that way. I will NEVER go back there again for the simple fact of rude customer service. read more

I would put zero stars if we could. My husband and I went to rent a sewer camera for our outside sewer drain. We specifically asked if this sewer camera will go through 6 inch sewer drain. They said yes. The main line was recently rodded so we know it was clear. When we got it to our home and fed the camera through the sewer line it would not go past 7 feet. The line kept twisting and bending, because it obviously was designed for a small sewer line. We called while we were trying to do feeding the camera through the line, the guy insisted this is what it is for and that is what they have. After multiple attempts, we decided this was not the right sewer camera for the job. When we returned it to the man that we originally rented it from. He looked at us in disbelief and said this was recently used for a job at Ohare. We explained that it would not work because it is obviously not designed for a 6 inch sewer line. He said for the inconvenience he would discount it 15 %. We could not believe that we spent $93 for basically 7 feet of line of a 100 foot sewer camera rental for about 20 mins of use. Really! Upon looking up the model of this sewer camera on the manufacture's website, it states this particular model is for drains that are only 1 1/2 inches - 4 inches in diameter. Please if you can avoid this place, they obviously do not know what the equipment they are rental out and giving false information at the customer's expense. So disappointed. Especially that my husband initially called the man said that he was going to use it for a 6 inch main line in our sewer line. This particular model that they are renting is really designed for lines much smaller. Here was money wasted and time that we could have gone elsewhere that know accurate information of the equipment they are renting out. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE LYING SCUM BAGS.... THEY WILL LITERALLY STEAL YOUR MONEY. I rented from them for one day because we were in need desperate need of a generator. Our basement flooded and our power went out. Long story short.... I used the generator for 2 hours rented for 1/2 a day and was charged for over 2 days!! I tried to return the generator twice. Each time they were closed early.... So they charged me for 2 days. I disputed it with my bank. The notes on my account from them called me a "Queen" and they made remarks like I could afford it because I drive a nice new car. JERKS! WARNING DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these CROOKS!
