This place doesn't give you free or discount price for retest if your car couldn't pass the test, they ask full price for retest. There are many smog check stations give free or partial charge for retest(s), find a better place for your car. BTW, the man who works there doesn't show a good attitude. read more

Just had a terrible experience here with the technician Hung Nguyen. After coming back twice (1st time I got there there was a wait, no big deal, I went to run an errand, 2nd time he told me he forgot to calibrate his machine so it would be another 30 minute wait. I should have left then, but ran another errand and came back) I knew my older car (a '98) would take a while so I sat down with my book to wait. While waiting Hung asked what I did. When I replied that I was a teacher he began talking about how we should have metal detectors at school and how shootings would never happen at private schools. He went on to talk about how much better private school were, how school shootings would never happen in Vietnam, how the shooter in Florida would probably get off because his lawyer would argue the shooter was "mental" and how a coach died because he took a bullet for his students. Never once did I mention I worked at a public school. I answered his ranting with one word answers for the most part and repeatedly tried to go back to reading my book. I tried not to engage him but admittedly defended my school when he started talking about how public school teachers only know their students and principles at public schools are never outside monitoring their school. As a dedicated public middle school teacher this conversation was incredibly upsetting, offensive and inappropriate. This was not a conversation I wanted to have with anyone, much less someone in the service industry. On top of this he tried to get me to go to an atm to get cash rather than take my credit card so I would have to pay the fee rather than him. I pushed back and he did eventually take my card. Needless to say I will not be returning for my next smog check. read more

I brought cash and the coupon. - Of course, you should ALWAYS bring the coupon, that is what they are there for. And just be sure to bring cash for the exact change. For instance, if you have a vehicle newer than 1996, then the total cash to bring should be $32.25. I told him it's raining directly into my car can I pull the car in slightly. He told me I shouldn't have come on a rainy day... Awesome customer service. This place is a joke. If you go to the website there are two different prices listed for a smog check. Also the guy will charge you $5 more if you use a credit card and not pay cash. When I asked why he was charging $5 more the Chinese guy got upset and didn't want to do the smog. So I went to the Mobil gas station directly across the street where they also do smog checks. I asked the guy there if he will give me a smog for cheaper than the Chinese guy at Shell, and he said yes. So the moral to this story is go to Mobil across the street for a smog. read more
