I've taken a few cars to Jamboree Smog over several years without an issue until this year. The technician used a code reader indicating there was an exhaust issue and it would fail the smog test. I took it to a mechanic and returned to Jamboree Smog for a second time after replacing the faulty part and again was told my vehicle would not pass because I needed to drive 200 miles in order to clear screens for the various exhaust components after the recent work. They gave me a handout detailing specific driving patterns and speeds needed driving the 200 miles to clear the code reader screens. I followed the handout directions and came back a third time passing smog. I didn't know what I didn't know and am grateful Jamboree Smog took the time to help me understand what specifically I needed to do. I highly recommend Jamboree Smog. read more

I had such a great experience here today! I didn't get their names, but the two gentlemen that helped me were very friendly and the service was FAST! I can't remember what I paid for my last smog check, but their prices seemed very reasonable. I was warmly welcomed, started right away, and out of there in 10 minutes. This review is for the Grand Ave location - they own the Jamboree Smog on Edinger and Jamboree as well. There are 3 bays and no wait. Super easy to enter and exit and easy to find (white geometric/angular building on the corner). Friendly staff. on their website it says $78, $58 with coupon but you don't need a coupon - they told me $58 when I arrived. The only knock I have is that they don't really have a waiting area (one chair in a narrow inside area next to the counter), but the wait was so short I didn't mind. The building could use some upkeep and new paint but that doesn't affect the quick friendly service and no wait. read more

This place used to be great. I had been going here for smog checks for the last few years; however, when I stopped by this weekend, the gentleman who helped me, who I believe was the owner, said that we had a problem. I drive a Prius and put a Cat Shield on my vehicle a number of years ago to deter catalytic converter thieves, since Prius's are a primary target. He told me that I would need to remove the shield in order for him to perform the smog check??? I've had at least one, maybe two, other smog checks with the shield in place at this location, and it was not an issue. If it was that easy to remove, it would defeat the purpose of it. I politely declined and advised him that I would just go somewhere else. I ended up going to Orange Smog on Glassell and the kind gentleman there got me in and out in less than 15 minutes with no issues. read more

Jamboree Smog went through their records when the DMV sent a letter that I had paid my registration but I needed a smog. So I called and they connected me with the boss. Turns out it was my goof, because I waited more than 90 days to send payment (which I thought I never do!) and a smog is only good for 90 days. I appreciate Jamboree Smog! read more

I was looking for a smog only facility, I didn't want them to tell me I didn't pass smog, but they could fix it for me for cost. These guys are awesome, they have three slots and you pull up and they smile. They give you the board to fill out, they ask you to step out and move over to their office, they hook your car up and they take a look at your vehicle, and mine passed smog, I paid him and they said have a great day. Nice people and are very fast. Did not honor the yelp coupon however. Said they were no longer Jamboree Smog even though their paperwork still says Jamboree Smog and Grand Smog dba Jamboree Smog. Of course I waited until the last day to get a smog check and of course it was a Sunday when so many auto/smog check shops are closed. I was so happy to find this place was nearby and open! It's super easy to spot as they're on a corner and have a large sign near the street. I drove up and no one else was there, but an attendant did get to me immediately. I handed him the registration papers, got out of my car to sit in the waiting area, and barely had time to check my emails before he said he was done.
