They brought it to their yard and when I called them the guy actually sounded upset to tell me not to rush over as the car was done for. I wanted to get my personal stuff out and he told me to pop right over. The car was indeed toast (I didn't get to see it after the accident as I was carted off to the Hospital). After cleaning out the stuff from the cabin, we managed to get the trunk open and he helped me remove me stuff from the wreck. I went back a few days later to get the plates and show my friend the mess - again, they were extremely nice and helpful. If you need a tow - these are the guys to call for sure. read more

I cannot believe this company is still allowed to operate. My car was placed there by the police for almost a year-- I did not voluntarily choose this tow yard or agree to store my car there. I have a written letter from the police confirming that because the vehicle was placed there by the police, the storage fee should only have been $2.50 per day. Despite that, this company insisted charge me $30 per day. That is not just unreasonable -- it feels blatantly predatory. The owner, Rich, appears to take advantage of people who are already trapped in stressful situations and then demand outrageous amounts of money. This is by far the worst tow company I have ever had to work with. I work in the insurance industry and often need to get units released from tow yards for clients. Rich, the "owner", makes it unnecessarily difficult to release the unit just so they can hold on to the unit and charge you to store it. Complete and total SCAM. My car broke down Friday night while driving westbound on the LIE 1/2 mile from exit 42. I had never broken down before and to top it off it was dark out and I had to pull over on the HOV lane - it was nerve wrecking to say the least. When the police arrived they said my insurance company was not allowed to tow my car on the highway and that they had to call for service. They recommended AAAA-1 and I didn't question it as I was beyond relieved I was going to get out of there in one piece. I was told to call the next day and I did. A friend who's a mechanic was ready with a tow truck to pick up my car first thing in the morning and they said that the yard was closed and it would have to be Monday. Monday morning I call again and they say it is $722.36 for a less than 5-mile tow. I couldn't get any other words out of my mouth but "ok". I head there and question them about it. The guy behind the desk is the same one on the phone and he is beyond rude. He wouldn't even print an invoice for me to look at an itemized bill and proceeds to quickly spit out the charges. Most of the charges on the bill are bull: - "Winching" fee of $75 when my car was ON the highway, NOT off-road or beyond the limits of the roadway. Hence why I was so panicked and had to call the police. - They wouldn't let my friend tow the car out of the lot (which was in the first row of cars behind the fence) or even go in to look at it because apparently there are cars with "bullet holes, drugs, and homicides in there". - "Pull Out" fee of $150 from the first row behind the fence. They no joke moved my car about 50ft total from where it was parked to the side of the road. - $140 "Storage" fee for less than three days and after I called the next day (Saturday) with resources to pick up my car. - $125 "Yard" fee that when I asked the guy what that was he said it was an "Admin" fee for "paperwork". We asked a second guy that worked there and he shrugged it off saying "that's life". After many attempts and complete feeling of hopelessness, we paid the bill. My friend asked if he could borrow jumping cables and they wanted to CHARGE HIM $75 for it! They also did not accept debit or credit cards. Only cash, cashier's check, and some other type of certified check or money order (can't remember which one it was). According to DARP (Direct Accident Response Program) Towing Rates are: - Vehicles registered at 10,000 pounds or less, for tow to storage facility: $125 - Vehicles registered at more than 10,000 pounds: $140 - First three days of storage: $25 per day - Fourth day of storage and after: $27 per day - Towing to location other than tower's storage facility: add $4.00 per mile plus tolls Everyone in this scheme is getting a big slice of pie. Nice to see how they pay for their decked out Dodge Chargers parked out front of the yard's office. Westbury keep service department crashed my brand new Dodge Ram into a column inside their service department and severely damaged the rear passenger side door. They sent it to AAA body shop to have it repaired. The owner refused to talk to me even though it was my truck he was working on. Never returned any of my 5 calls. Now it looks like my 12 year old painted it with a can of spray paint. Just look at the pics. A Friend of mine who owns a body shop said it's one of the worst he's seen. First of all they bondo'ed it instead of replacing the door skin. Then they painted over the bondo before it was dry and clearcoated over wet paint. Real rush job. Horrible! read more

I'm a teacher in the East Meadow area. I ran out to run an errand during my lunch hour and got a flat tire. I was unable to get all of the lug nuts off the tire in order to get the donut on so I walked over to AAAA-1 Towing to ask for help. A young man from AAAA-1 Towing came over to help and get the last lug but off of the flat tire. ONE LUG NUT AND HE WAS GOING TO CHARGE ME $30!!!!!! After I paid the towers fee I then had to hand the key to the man that was taking care of us. I assisted a friend of our family whose car was impounded by the police through no fault of hers through an unauthorized use of the vehicle. The police warned us that AAA1 Towing would try to jack the price up beyond the regulated price. We got the release papers from the police for the car and then went to get the car from them. They tried to charge us their regular price which was 2x as much. I pointed out that this was regulated and the receptionist said that they had given us the right price. I said I would call the police to confirm, but she then called her manager who also tried to fool us by saying "I just put it in the computer and this is the price." I called the police and so did he. He eventually acknowledged that the first price was incorrect but claimed it was because of a problem with the computer.
