She was extremely friendly, professional and easy to work with. After the estimate, we went forward with the project. Before the work began, the project manager, Shaun, called and scheduled a "job walkthrough" to go over all of the details of the work. He was very courteous and spent a lot of time explaining everything. Josh was the lead painter assigned to our project and he was patient, friendly and worked very hard to ensure things were done right. Ezekiel was also one of the painters who worked tirelessly and had a great attitude every day. At the beginning of the project, we had an issue with a paint color that did not match our swatch. Josh immediately called Shaun. Even though it was late in the afternoon, well past his workday hours, Shaun promptly arrived at our home. He brought seven different lighter shades of the gray paint we told him was too dark and he applied them to the walls in multiple locations until we found the right one. We REALLY appreciated this! At the end of the project, Chris, the owner of Boise Home Painting came out and made sure everything was done to our satisfaction.

Their cut ins to the existing ceiling paint were exceptional. They removed and replaced all light fixtures, wall plates, vents, etc to create a very professional and finished end product. While Paul always blamed the weather for his delays, certainly he could have completed the project between June and October if he cared about following through on his commitment to complete his work. At the time of hiring, Bluebird was one of the only crews available and the price was very competitive. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. This experience was a nightmare. The worst contractors we have every dealt with. The crew was a mix of extremely experienced painters and brand new painters. But, the experienced members could not offset the horrible job of the inexperienced members. The job quality was horrible 1. The team did not properly prep the walls prior to painting. There were a number of holes, scratches and rough areas that should have been prepped, filled, sanded (As stated in the quote). 2. The team did not properly prep the surrounding areas: tape, plastic and cover the floor, carpet, furniture, personal belongings, etc. After they sprayed the ceiling, there was paint dust everywhere. Even after multiple requests to the crew and complaints to the owner, the same problems continued to repeat themselves. We still find personal items covered in paint spray. 3. The crew did not pick up after themselves. 4. The crew painted areas with the wrong paint color. The trim was painted with the ceiling paint (the wrong color and sheen) 5. The doors are the worst part of the paint job. Prior to Bluebird starting, our doors had a very smooth and shiny coat. After, the doors came back dusty and rough. A number of people identified the problem as sawdust and over-spray. It was obvious that the team sanded the doors but did not remove the dust before painting. We will need to pay to have the doors repainted. Customer service was horrible 6. The owner was not available to see the job even after multiple complaints. 7. The owner did not try to make things better. He only gave excuses and often blamed us for the problems. It took multiple complaints for the owner to agree to try and fix the problems. 8. Job was quoted to take 5 days. But after 20 days, there were still many problems that we feel are unsatisfactory, and decided to cut our losses. We just paid them and get them out of our house. We hope that you read this review and don't run into the same problems we ran into. This review is a warning!!!! Do not hire BLUEBIRD Painting Co. in Meridian/Boise, Idaho.
