I wish I could give this place negative stars. They are the most inept auto repair place I've ever been to. They put the wrong sized lug nuts on my car, stripping the stems, which they never told me about. I brought my car in for new tires, and they ended up potentially wrecking my car! Van transmission linkage broke and was quickly towed by AAA and taken to AAA care center. With no appointment they serviced my van giving me an estimate and getting needed parts quickly. Mark was very professional and explained repairs. Extremely pleased with quality and quickness with repairing my vehicle. Will definitely bring future business to them and recommend them highly. I took the car in for a diagnostic service because my malfunction indicator light was on. I was told there was a crack in the oil housing. Strange thing is it wasn't leaking oil until after they performed the diagnostic service. Although the estimate was high, I was told it would be about $200 less. When I actually received the invoice there were items on it that were not on the original estimate, nor did I authorize the service. When I went to question it, I was told what does it matter. The price is what I agreed to. I was treated rudely by Mark. He was dismissive, condescending and raised his voice unnecessarily. I will never utilize this service center again. It is not trustworthy. If you choose to make sure you check your estimates and price it out somewhere else if you can. read more

Dropped off my car for an oil change (2013 Subaru Outback, 75,000 miles). The service took about an hour as suggested. When I picked it up, several of my dash lights illuminated within 2 or 3 miles of my departure suggesting engine, brake, and cruise control problems . I called AAA and the manager came out and checked the gas cap and the air filter. Gas cap was tight but there was a dirty 'cabin filter' in the engine air filter canister. Seemed odd to me because I checked the air filter 2 weeks earlier and the correct one was installed and it was clean. The incorrect filter caused a vacuum leak due to improper sealing in the filter box likely causing the problem. AAA said they had a replacement air filter in stock for $38 which seemed a bit excessive so I went to the Walmart down the street and bought one for $12.88. It took about 5 minutes to install. BOTTOM LINE . . . when my car went in for the oil change it was running fine. We've never had a problem with it and have maintained it according to mfg recommendations. After the oil change it was riddled with sudden problems. Also . . . AAA had suggested I needed an immediate front brake replacement for about $600. When I took it into Subaru the next day to correct the problems that existed right after the oil change (at a cost of ~$200) Subaru also checked the brakes and mentioned that there was 25-30% of the front pads remaining which should last me another 8-10K miles. A little research in the internet indicated that a front brake job (pads and routers) should cost about $400 (KBB reference). The dealer estimated replaces pads and rotors at about $500. A word of caution . . . think twice about using AAA Auto Services when looking to service your vehicle. read more

Act 1: car loses power on the Northway near exit 10. I feel so lucky to get to the ramp and down to a gas station, especially when a AAA tow truck just happens to be here. My membership covers a free tow to their service station nearby, or extra charge to the Dealer, who usually services it. Decided to have my car towed here instead of "the dealer". Driver was very nice. They evaluated it pretty quickly and told me they'd gave to get a part from the dealer. That wouldn't be in until Monday. I rented a car with their help and they actually drove me to Hertz! $100 for 4 days: Fri-Mon. So far, so good. Everyone was polite and pleasant. Intermission Second Act: Monday: your car won't be ready until tomorrow- the part isn't in. Hertz says $80 for the extra day. Ugh!! Tuesday: Hertz: we are open until 6. I take off work early and call Hertz on the way, only to find out their driver leaves s at 4:30. I hurry. Timing is tight. I get there at 4:30, and the fellow will take me back to AAA, but I am 1/2 hour over the limit, which no one ever mentioned. HOW much for that 1/2 hour? $37!!! I should have had them tow me to the dealer: I have a feel they would have had a part in stock If had to do it again based on what I know now.... read more

If you want quality repair done on your vehicle, take it to AAA in Clifton Park. We recently took our vehicles to the facility and did the services we asked for, and also let us know our tires were getting low on one of our vehicles. There was no pressure to upsell us anything, and they provided us a digital vehicle inspection, with pictures showing my tire tread, break measurements and other parts under the vehicle, I found that really helpful. They even rotated the tires for free, which is a tremendous value for the price. Really comfortable waiting room with free k-cups, water, Wi-Fi, customer computer and cable tv. read more

Car broke down got towed to Car care center Thinking that as a AAA member for 30 years I would get a fair value repair. Except they charged me $140 a hour and did unnecessary repairs . The car dealers in the area get $125. My advise get your car towed anywhere else. My recommendation is get towing from your car insurance company ang get rid of AAA. AAA was a legitimate not for profit club ,Now its just a tipoff. read more

It's very clear that auto repair places get a bum deal on Yelp, Google Reviews and other online ratings. You are disproportionately going to hear from the people who have bad experiences there, and just their being their means they are likely to be in a bad mood to start with. Unlike with restaurants, hotels, stores and entertainment/cultural attractions, people aren't going to be inclined to speak about good experiences they may have at auto repair places. This is something I am appealing to both Yelp and Google Reviews to redress in some way: Perhaps just putting a disclaimer on the businesses' pages explaining to people that these establishments do suffer unfairly from these circumstances, or prorating the numbers slightly to account for it. In the meantime, I will try to do what I can to inject some fairness. I took my Hyundai Sonata to this care center for an all-points check and a tire rotation. It has 138K miles on it, and it has been a little loud lately. I have an upcoming long trip and I am concerned about the car's longevity. I waited in the ultra-comfortable waiting area which is about as comfortable as my home. There is a TV, desk computer, free coffee/tea and bottled water, and quite a variety of magazine. Of course every imaginable AAA publication is just "the next room over". The tires did not need replacing and only one major problem was found in the diagnostic: The rear brake fluid looked like it was still the original, and the rear brakes themselves would need replacement very soon. This made sense, as I had never had the rear brakes repaired in the time I had owned the car. I had them change the fluid and give me an estimate on the additional repairs. The overall time in the lounge waiting area was about 90 minutes. I took the estimate to Trev's Automotive (https://www.yelp.com/biz/trevs-automotive-clifton-park) and had them offer me one as well. They could do it for about 15% less so I scheduled the repair with them. Based on this experience, auto repair businesses are actually performing quite satisfactorily. The service at the AAA center was very good, they did not try to oversell me, and they enabled me to make an informed choice on the additional, more costly expenses. They earn 4 stars, and Trev's, who already has 4, may get a 5. (But they should still upgrade their waiting room!) read more

Don't have your car repaired here. they charge $102 an hour and if you are a member it is $93 an hour. Lussiers charges $65 an hour. We were towed because we have triple A. They offered to do the repair and they said they warranty their work for 2 years and give a 10% charge. but they rate is super high and it is the classic sell the customer what they don't need because they don't know any better. which is totally true. I know nothing about cars. I spent over $1,000 on the repair. Even if they were telling me the truth, I can't be sure because they are so over priced. read more

What terrible service I received from the Triple A dispatch dept Im down with respiratory infection my son uses the vehicle it brakes down 35 miles from home call for tow service I had to literally drive to meet tow truck to present membership card or they were charging cash .Wasn't good enough for me to present at tow drop site to sign for or to provide card ! So much for GOLD Membership or being a member for prior years ! To piss me off more the tow driver said wasnt required to be present... they just need the card on site which it was in the glove box ! I must give high recommendation to the top truck driver he was very professiona,l courtesy and went above & beyond doing a computerized diagnostic testing on the vehicle . read more

I went in to pay our annual bill and had great service. Found out you can sign up for automatic renewal on your debit or credit card for $10 off annually. My husband was out of town on business trip and my dashboard was letting me know that the tire pressure on all four of my tires was wrong. They took me in right away at the service station. In 10 minutes they handed me back my fab and let me know that three of my tires were dangerously overinflated(no charge.) They assured me that they were all at the right pressure and sent me on my way. Unfortunately at the last station I took it to the guy overinflated them. I spend the majority of my time in my car and could've had a blowout at any time. Glad to be back on the road safely now. In addition while I was waiting I didn't realize that they have travel books for every state including points of interest. These books were free to AAA members and similar to the travel books that you buy in the bookstores. I was in and out in less than half an hour. I've just booked in for an oil change in the morning. Very easy to schedule appointments online. They've always run on time when I've visited before. I've been pleased with the environment and speed of service. The waiting area is decent and you can browse travel brochures whilst you wait, so that passes the time. I like that they are part of AAA as I have faith in the brand. read more

Horrible. I was 39 weeks pregnant and we had an appointment scheduled where both my husband and I took work off to have our car seats installed. We've been members for years and barely use our benefits. We arrived 5 mins early and were told it would be a few minutes as the woman we had the appointment with was busy with a walk in travel customer. Fast forward an hour later when we asked when she would be available and was met with basically unremarkable answers. "She just sat down with these travel customers right before you arrived and it's hard to estimate how long it would be". We then said how do walk ins take precedent over scheduled appointments and why would she take a customer that close to our appointment. "Customers that create profits (travel) are first priority". Oh interesting I'm pretty sure my membership isn't free.... we complained to corporate who had the audacity to defend their employees and their policies. Guess what- you just lost 5 family memberships for next year. My father in law gets memberships for his family and all of his children's families for Christmas each year. After this experience he said he would not be getting memberships for all. read more

Extremely slow. Expect to wait even when there is no line. The people in the waiting area were disgruntled and frustrated for excess of an 1 hour wait and one fellow was waiting over 3 hrs for his car. Yikes. I came and wait 45 minutes to get a picture....the personnel are somewhat professional but arrogant and don't care to apologize about the long wait. Service was fine, the vehicle only went in for a minor oil change and inspection. The mechanic did call to advise that sooner than later the pads and rotors would need to be changed, not pushy at all when explaining what else needed to be done. We chose to make another appointment to have the work completed. What I didn't care for was at the time of cash out I told clerk I had a valid coupon for a $29.99 full service oil change which I took a screenshot of and I showed him and which time he told me "well I'll do this time for you but no more next time you need you bring a printed copy". Well, Mr. Front counter cashier, what is a person to do if they don't have access to a printer and because of the Covid-19 situation going on where all libraries are closed? Now, answer me that question! I'll even go a bit deeper if were going to throw digs now, my relative brought his vehicle in for an oil change and all around quick check, at which time your staff negligently failed to notice the expired inspection sticker causing my relative to get stopped by the State Police. Thankfully, his relative works in the category of law and was able to assist with that negligent situation. Maybe a retrain of how to handle customer service and attitude change for your front desk cashier. read more

I had a horrible experience with AAA Clifton park. I submitted online to get an appointment and never heard back so called to schedule. I arrived 10 minutes early before my appointment that was scheduled for 11:30 AM. It wasn't until after 1 o'clock that I was out of the building. I sat and watched the technician start my service then receive her pizza and take a 1/2 hr break to eat it during my oil change. It doesn't seem appropriate to take a lunch break during an oil change. when asked after an hour how much longer it was going to be since I could see it was not being worked on from the customer window I was told 15 minutes but they had already done the oil change and just need to rotate the tires. As I sat there I watched a girl afterwards change my oil so I knew that this was a lie. She started the work which took 20 minutes once she actually started working. I would never go back. read more
