Not sure if this is the best place to post this review but I had what I thought was a punctured tire so I called AAA for a tow to my local tire shop. I provided the details on the online form about having a potential flat tire so I thought when the driver came that he would check the tire to confirm that it needed to be towed. AAA is supposed to provide roadside assistance so I would've expected that if he was able to fix the tire, he would've. Once it was towed and dropped off at the tire shop, they confirmed that yes, there was a large chunk of rubber missing but that it was completely safe to drive and was not actually losing air. They expressed their frustration with the tow truck driver for not doing his due diligence. I'm inclined to believe the tire shop since they could've made an easy sale and I wouldn't have questioned it. So now I've used up 1 of the 3 tows we get for the year for nothing. We pay a lot of money for this service so it's really unfortunate that they would take advantage like this. read more

Terrible experience in the Citrus Heights location today. Was treated in the most rude and unprofessional manner from both check-in and also at the DMV desk. They had a problem finding my membership even though I had my AAA card, CDL and have been a member for over 11 years. Then, after waiting for DMV services for 25 minutes to pay my car reg renewal, which I have done with no problem in previous years, was told by the clerk 'I can't help you' and gave no clear explanation as to why. the only thing they would tell me was 'wait until 30 days before it's due--then mail it in to DMV'. What? That makes no sense. They then threw my paperwork across the counter at me and I fumbled to put it away in my folder. This, in front of a whole waiting area of people. I felt singled out and was very embarrassed. I went to a different location (Roseville) where they had no issue finding me in the computer and they checked my paperwork. They gave me clear and concise reasons as to why it couldn't yet be paid. It turns out the DMV computer hadn't yet updated, even though I had my renewal I just received in the mail. I was a bit too early is all. They suggested I wait two weeks, then come back, when they'd be happy to recheck it for me. The Roseville location was friendly and professional--something Citrus Height is most definitely lacking. The staff at the Citrus Heights office could use some definite customer service training and I wouldn't recommend coming to this location for anything. read more

The LIVE people who work in the office are nice, but I don't think there is ANY follow up. My mother passed away. AAA triple billed us. Now they are billing us for insurance on a house we no longer own, in the name of a dead woman. I'm sure, even after multiple calls, letters, and visits the bills will still come for a house my dead mother no longer owns. Yes, they got the death certificate and all of the other information they needed to close out the account. I get something in the mail from them almost every day. Nobody keeps the paperwork straight. On the phone people can be extremely nice, or absolutely horrible and rude. I should bill them for my time because we have spent hours and hours over the past year trying to get them to get their heads out of their...you know where. AAA used to be the best but those days are long gone. read more

This is hard to believe but I had such a good experience. I'm almost glad my truck broke down in El Dorado Hills, CA.    Nick H (aka Nicolas the ridiculous) called me immediately and told me when he was coming. He was so kind, professional, and thoughtful-took wonderful care of my truck and me.  I didn't have a ride home and was planning on hiring an Uber, but he said that sometimes AAA covers that too !   So he talked with his management and they instructed him to take me home which was more than 10 miles away from where my truck was left for service. Wow, I am blown away and didn't know that that was even possible... thank you AAA for going above and beyond the call of duty, and making a difficult night actually enjoyable. Thank you all for your kindness expertise, and giving such incredible service.  I don't have words to describe how grateful I am and how much I will recommend AAA to all my family and friends. She was kind, explained a lot and I really felt went above and beyond in educating us without being condescending or judging in any way. We did need to make an appointment as we tried to drop in when out and about running errands, so I would keep that mind. My experience with AAA has been extremely frustrating and damaging. A roadside technician named Kim changed my car battery while the engine was still running, which ultimately led to my vehicle's ECU being damaged. Since then, I've been sent in circles by both AAA and their insurance partner ESIS. I submitted a detailed statement and over 11 attachments (including shop receipts and repair diagnostics), yet I was told multiple times that the files couldn't be found. I've spoken with multiple reps--Kimberley, Laxima, and Chris--but received no resolution. I even had to resend everything to the claims adjuster when I was finally assigned one--days later. To make matters worse, I was told there's no direct phone number for the office responsible for sending the technician--only an email address. The lack of accountability and follow-through has caused major stress, financial hardship, and even job loss. I'm sharing this not out of anger, but because others deserve to know what they might be dealing with. I still have all documentation and will pursue further action if needed. I hope this helps someone else avoid the same experience. read more

I recently needed to pay the sales tax and register a "new to me" used car that I bought from a friend. Storefront is very neat and tidy and there was a young man inside the front door who sort of "prescreens" people as they come in so as to direct them which station to go to. I arrived with just minutes to spare to get my DMV assistance. (Didn't realize the "store" is open until 6 but there's a 5:30 cutoff for DMV services.) Service I received was prompt and courteous. Worst experience ever! Do not book travel with this company. My family is out allot of money, memories and now have allot of heartache! Horrible communication skills with their members and set your trip up for failure! Jennifer, Phylis and Glen, they all say they are sorry for our experience but obviously do not care. Never again we will or anyone we know work with AAA again. Phylis had us believing our trip included things it did not, we were not educated on anything we needed to know to make a successful trip happen to Disneyland. We all get tears in our eyes even thinking about this experience. I had a letter written out to explain every detail but it was too long for Yelp so i am going to keep it simple and just say this company is heartless and doesn't care about their members. After 10 years CSAA dropped me because of pictures taken by a drone. Although, they haven't provided said proof, that my roof needed repairs. They sent a letter and told me that they're not required to tell people and let them fix the problem. They're still issuing home owners policies so I wonder how they decided who to drop. read more

Came in here for an International Driver's Permit. Was nice to see that you can still come in a pick one up in person. Very busy for a weekday. Another reason to be a member. They also provide some CA DMV and travel services too. Friendly staff, was able to get in and out in 20 min. I would suggest looking on line first to make sure you bring the right items you'll need to complete your visit and walk out with what you need. I was glad I did, downloaded the form and had a passport photo in hand. read more

Came out here again for some last minute errands in regards to dmv, walk in...guess what? 1 person working dmv again with about 7 people waiting..(funny how they have chairs now for customers because of how long the waits are...) so you know there is a problem and to remedy that conflicting manner you put out chairs for people to wait longer instead of providing quicker service to the customer? Sat for 20min and after only 1 person being taken care of i walked out, again...with no accomplishment of errands.. AAA responded to my initial review but there is no reason to reach out especially to give my membership number (No reason to give out personal information which wont solve anything), there is nothing you guys can do that will speed up the services in location. Solution? Well, thats not my job to deal with the incompetence of the location / district manager to provide a better level of service. Ridiculous, I wont be coming back to this location. read more

I usually go to the dreaded DMV, wait in line for at least an hour or two. Got AAA again last year, looked online and they said they can do a title transfer and registration. So I thought I'd give it a try and it was pretty close to my house so another big plus. I walk in, a gentleman greeted me, asked what I was in for, handed me a clipboard to fill out the rest of the info on the title. Waited in line maybe 3 minutes and I was right in front, the lady who helped me was very nice and helpful, whole transaction with her was another 2-3 minutes. I walked in and out with my registration and my 2022 sticker in less then ten minutes! I was out kinda dumbfounded how it was so fast. HUGE props to AAA and this location for customer service, speed and helpfulness. I'll be coming here for anything I can that is DMV related. If I could give six stars I would. read more

Went the extra mile to Replaced Battery. Friday after 10:30 pm 20 mins south of downtown Sacramento, my SUV battery died. I ordered AAA on the mobile app. Jeffrey Hammond was kind enough to personally call me to give me reassurance he was on the way and check my exact location. He was on time and prepared. Showed up with an extra battery. Turned out my batter was running about 1/10 the power. He had a new one installed with a warranty for a discounted rate than I would have paid retail. The staff at my local Citrus Heights office are genuinely good people. I have no issues with them. More so the company who continue to drop the ball. So on my way home last night my car started pulling to the right super hard. That's ok, luckily I have AAA. I get several 100 mile tows and even a 200 mile tow! I call AAA and get a super nice person on dispatch. He explains that since it's a busy time, his times are a little inaccurate from what he can see but he's going to have the local dispatch group text or call me in the next 10 minutes. 30 minutes later I call back. Another super nice person. She finds my dispatch. 280 minutes. The truck won't be there until midnight. Also they need to keep it in their yard for 5 days until there's a truck free to get it back to my house. I'm frustrated, but I get it. They let me do an unattended tow, so I won't have to wait there with the vehicle. The good news is, they'll be there to pick it up at 10pm. They aren't sure why I never got a text or a call but they'll DEFINITELY text me when the driver is heading out. I head home after getting a ride from a friend. 10pm comes around. 10:30...by 11 I call AAA for a third time. The driver is on the way! Why didn't I get a text? They're not sure, it's very strange, but the drivers have to text when they pick up the car. I wake up to use the restroom at 3am. No text, call, email, nothing. I call AAA AGAIN. This girl is....well awful. She says the systems went down and they only came back up an hour earlier. Well why didn't they update me when they came back up? Because they dont' have any drivers. All the drivers left. I could try and call back at 8am when the next shift comes on, no guarantees, though. I finally get her to let me talk to her supervisor. He authorizes reimbursement for a third party tow. Says he will notate my account. The problem here is that my vehicle is parked in public place and is subject to tow, since AAA left it there overnight. I spent the next 40 minutes finding a towing service to go pick it up asap. $900 later the stupid car is finally on its way back to me. I call AAA yet another time to find out how to submit a reimbursement. I'm in the middle of refinancing my house and not supposed to make large purchases. No problem! Go into a branch, they'll take care of you. They can authorize payment back to your CC, it takes 7 to 10 business days. I head into a branch where I'm told that all I can do is submit a form online. I'll have a decision in a couple weeks, and a little more for payment. If you want to hurry the process up, call this customer relations number. I call the "member relations" number, who informs me that they're not member relations, that I need to call the OTHER member relations number. I call that number. It's the escalations department. Sorry, nothing they can do. They have a growing back log of reimbursements to handle and they have no way of prioritizing them. It will be at least a few weeks. Do you have a supervisor? Nope. Can you give me the name of a regional manager? Nope. Can I cancel my membership? Sure but not only will we then deny your reimbursement but it's prorated so you won't get a full refund. The icing on the cake? The tow truck driver and another friend of mine both work for AAA Both said their "systems down" thing is code for "our drivers are already at their maximum hours, there's nothing we can do for you" If I had to wait there with the vehicle I might just now be getting home, 14 or 15 hours after my original service call. Does AAA care at all? Not a tiny bit. Not one single person has tried to take ownership or tried to fight for me. read more

I am new to California and was needing some help with getting my car registered. I was aware that some AAA branches are able to assist customers with this process. I looked at ratings of certain branches and chose this location because it had a fairly high rating. When I walked in I was greeted by a very pleasant young man. I began to explain to him what my issue was, when a woman who had been watching me and listening to the conversation walked up and interrupted me and asked me to explain everything again to her. She did not introduce herself, but I assume she must be a manager. When I told her I had understood from the CA DMV information regarding registering an out of state vehicle I would be required to have proof of residency, such as a mortgage or rental agreement, she cut me off and in a very condescending manner told me she didn't know where I got that information and that I would be able to get my vehicle registered at the DMV. She then brought me two copies of the registration form from the DMV, stating that she was giving me two copies because if I made any mistakes the form would be rejected. Again, it was her aggressive and condescending tone, implying that I was wrong and that I would not be able to understand the process that turned me off completely. I would not return to this location. I would rather go the long wait and crowd at the DMV. At least there I have been accustomed to the sometimes rude employees! read more

We both completed form, had necessary photo and received Int'l Driving Permits. Clean, comfortable environment. We just came into the office to register our vehicle that was from out of state. Understanding that this may not be easy, I called ahead to make sure it could be done. Heather confirmed that I had all the right paperwork and we made an appointment. We show up and are instantly notified by Heather that we need the registration from the previous owner (which is frustrating since she didn't mention that on the phone, but I totally understand). We contact the previous owner in Idaho and he starts searching for the registration. Heather then fetched her boss or supervisor, Marie, to help her figure out what to do. Marie came over and asked for the registration and I told her we were working on it at the moment. Before I continue, I need to mention that we traveled to Idaho, and while we were there, our truck that tows our trailer died on us so we had to get rid of it and purchase a new vehicle. We didn't want to do this at all. I called Idaho and California DMV offices just to be sure I was doing everything right and legally. Back to AAA...Marie walks up to us and with a very rude tone tells us that she needs the plates and the registration from Idaho. Just being in Idaho a couple weeks ago, having family there, and speaking to Idaho DMV, we know that drivers keep their plates and move them to each car they own. Marie continues to tell us that we are wrong and kind of laughs, treating us like we are stupid. A simple "you need to visit the DMV, we cannot help you" would have been fine. Still frustrating since we wasted our time, but fine. Our family has worked with this office for years, mainly with Monica, and we have never had any issues. Heather was professional, just maybe not fully knowledgeable of AAA DMV situations. And it wasn't cool that she lied and told Marie that she told me to bring the registration. I get it though, people are so used to spending their days being mindless employees. BUT I have to say it's been a while since I've been spoken to the way Marie spoke to me. Completely disrespectful. The issue is that we are members, we spend money every year for their service. They couldn't help us, which is ok, but I don't pay companies to laugh in my face and be rude to me. This whole experience makes me not ever want to support AAA in any way and I can't wait for our membership to expire in August. read more

This office provides all the AAA services. Such as DMV, trip planning, maps, Insurance Etc. I mostly come here for DMV service. At times there can be a line that takes up to 30 minutes, but that's way better than any DMV office without an appointment. Everyone is also friendly and calm here, which is the opposite of the DMV. I find the DMV services alone pay for my annual AAA membership. The friendly staff, roadside assistance and great insurance coverage are nice too! ;) read more

This review is about the "Lengendary Roafside Assistance " not this branch. I have been a Aaa member for over 20 years now. I like being a member because of the roadside assistance when I travel. I don't have to worry, one would think. However all of the years paying membership cost just in case I need something 3 times I. The past 10 years I have needed something THEY WEREN'T THERE. i had a flat tire on the side of Interstate 5, no one showed for over 2 hours so I changed it myself. I had another flat just after leaving highway 50 and was told 4 hours to get someone there. Lastly, yesterday my vehicle would not start after going to Black Miner's Bar. Stuck in the boat launch ramp. I placed the call and was told two hours and signed up for updates. 3 hours later I called again only to find out that the time was extended and no one bothered to update me. When that time estimate didn't get met 4 hours after my initial call I called again. This time only to be told that they couldn't find anyone to tow me yet but they will update me when they find someone. Meanwhile it's completely dark outside the recreation area I'm in is closing in 30 minutes. I had to call an Uber to get back to my house at an additional cost to me. Then once I got home at 10:20 I received a call fro a towing company that said they were with AAA I told him that the vehicle was behind a locked gate at a state recreation area and there was nothing we could do tonight. He apologized and said they don't have enough drivers. I was livid not trying to bite this guys head off. He told me the only way to get my truck towed the next day was to cancel that ticket and call back in tomorrow. Now I have the premier rv membership so my annual membership is fairly expensive and coming up for renewal and I have had to call them 3 times and it will be at least 4 before it is through just for one tow. Of course they did give me the great alternative, to find a towing company at 9:30pm to tow my vehicle then seen reimbursement on the AAA website. Which I was told they would take a serious look at it in 3-5 days after my request was put in. They are ever so happy and speedy to take your money, they just don't give a damn when you're stranded and broke down. I am also diabetic and need recur medication that will spoil if it's not refrigerated. If I could rate them lower than a one star I most certainly would. Classic case of buyer beware. read more

Just returned from a 14 day European vacation; 7 night River Cruise & 7 night land trip. We are compiling a list of concerns regarding Toni, our AAA travel agent. We were a group of 10, so our initial river cruise cost was $35,000+ before the land package, which never happened through Toni, since she completely dropped the ball once she got our $35,000. Too many concerns to list here but we will be scheduling an appointment with Toni's manager shortly to review our complaints. We've used other agents there with great success, so our complaints are not with AAA. Do not use Toni! Huge mistake if you do. Maybe for a small and/or simple trip, but we couldn't be more disappointed with her ability to work with our group of 10. Sadly, I followed the AAA business managers request to email additional information saying they would follow up and get back to me and they have not. Waste of time! read more

Oh AAA, how I love thee. Not only is my insurance affordable and I have never had any issues with customer service, now I have the option of never having to go to a terrible DMV. This location offers everything that I need. I had to pick up registration stickers for one vehicle and pay for another one. In and out in less than 10 minutes. Why would I ever go back to a DMV unless I really had to?!?!?!! If you have AAA, don't forget to take advantage of this option. 5 stars. read more

The Citrus Heights, Ca AAA office added fraudulent fees to my simple title transfer and tried to collect for it even though they did not know how to complete the transaction. Came in here to process my registration. Both times the staff were very friendly and helpful. My truck didn't pass smog so they gave me conditional permits for a few days before I got it to pass. Came back and they got my new plates and registration filed. Way better than the DMV, this service alone pays for the membership in my opinion, let alone the towing. I have had AAA Gold for three years now and each year it has saved me from expensive towing costs, doesn't help I buy a lot of old cars, but hey, with AAA in my wallet it's never too worrisome. read more
