Very Disappointed in AAA in general. Were Seniors in our 70s. Our car broke down, needed a tow. Been members for 20+ years. After multiple calls for help we gave up after 2 hours. NO ONE SHOWED UP ! We were on a dark street with no lights. I had to get under our car in my dress clothes and beat on the electric fuel pump to finally get it restarted. After 2 miles the fuel pump stopped again. I layed on the ground again and after 30.min got it started and made it home without any help from AAA. Now today I stop to get tags and the line is down the street. No better then the DMV. about ten days I visited the AAA ofc in Citrus Heights. My experience was not a good one. I had to wait in my hot car for almost an hour. I am 84 years old and disabled. By the time I got to see a clerk my thinking was very fuzzy and I had a hard time remembering my new address or telephone #. 'et The man at the door was very helpful offering me a chair to sit in as I waited in line. He was very courteous. The lady at the window acted impatient with me and seemed slightly angry because I couldn't remember most things she asked me because of being overheated. She didn't say anything, just sat and waited for me to find documentation etc. Her silence said a lot. I have to go back today and I dread it. I hope I get a more understanding person to help me. Great customer service and good perks when you are a premiere member. I've had this membership for a couple of years but this year was the first time I went into their offices. I've rented cars with great discounts, purchased tickets, handled motor vehicle issues through them, etc. Any time I set foot in there I was in and out. I like AAA, always have. Maybe it's because it's a hold-on from childhood having all the AAA maps and stuff growing up. Maybe it's because I've never been disappointed by their service, services, and products. I've been to this office quite a few times. The first, when I had to transfer membership from SoCal to NorCal and update the insurance policies. Some people say that AAA has some of the most expensive insurance. I haven't found that to be true lately. I did "go out to bid" for auto insurance replacement and not one quote beat my AAA policy (in terms of cost and coverage). I have had only one claim on our policy for damage done by a hit-and-run a-hole; we followed their repair recommendation and also had a rental car, no charge, for a week. Most recently, I've needed to get DMV title work done on a couple deals. I don't think I'll ever go back into a DMV office unless it's something that AAA can't process. In and out quickly. Because they offer limited DMV services (check what they offer BEFORE you come in) is probably why the wait is not long at all. Take the complicated stuff to DMV. The downside is that these services are only Monday-Friday until 5:00pm. Every team member here has been friendly and inviting. read more

Love that AAA handles DMV services-- the wait wasn't bad at all and the staff are friendly and efficient. So much easier than going to DMV. I appreciate their communications with one another as well as their customers when the DMV server had gone down right in the middle of begin helped. I didn't catch the ladies name whom helped me but she had a great personality that radiated from her and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. She apologized for the slow down and was able to find me a place to sit while she assisted others in line to keep it flowing. When the DMV system was back up and running she called me over promptly to ensure I still was out at a decent time with respect to my time as well as that of the people whom were still in line with her. read more

Also i had a hiccup in the past when my registration never got sent to the correct address and the DMV in the AAA was so helpful and they reprinted it in the spot and also helped me update my address. I've been a member of AAA for many years, and for several years have been utilizing this office to do DMV things- always pleasant, efficient people here with a neat looking office- easy parking and access, and a few chairs near the waiting line for those who have difficulty standing, although I have used the online portal to schedule my appointments and never have had to wait very long- just a couple of minutes usually- or even none at all. They do what they can to make getting service as easy as possible, imo. AND they still have free maps for members- even some for recreation areas- showing public campgrounds. Not sure what other special maps they might have, but they have a lot of maps- just ask. I think you can currently only schedule an appointment about 1 month in advance, which the website does not tell you, but it seems that way, and if you have a limited number of times that fit your needs, I would not wait until last minute to schedule. You can, of course, drop in- not sure how they work that out between their scheduled appointments, but it is an option. It is nice to see a business that keeps up its good service year after year. read more

I had the pleasure of working with Jessica at the Citrus Heights AAA branch and it really made (what I could only imagine would to have been an absolute nightmare at the DMV) my experience so easy and painless. Not to mention she was super friendly and helpful all around - I will continue going to AAA for all my DMV needs, if it means I get great customer service like I had with Jessica. Don't come to this AAA location if you have a simple DMV transaction like getting license tags for the coming year. They have a distinct queuing problem at this office. At every AAA office I have ever visited (and this means dozens of AAA offices), someone checks your AAA card near the front door, and then queues you for the next available agent handling DMV transactions. There are comfortable chairs for you to sit in while you wait your turn. This process has never me taken more than five to ten minutes to give the agent a check and get my tags. At the Citrus Heights office, however, everyone is herded up in one normally huge long line no matter if it's DMV-related or not. This would be okay if there were numerous cashiers to process the mass of humanity. Unfortunately they seem only to have two cashiers available, and it took me over 30 long, irritating minutes standing in line to get to a cashier and get my tags. This has happened to me twice, and I have promised myself never to visit this office again. If I were the manager of this office, I would be pushing for a time-study and re-design of this office. There is no excuse for this slow of service. Thank you for considering my comments. read more

This review is for AAA in general. I was a loyal, pay-on-time customer for almost 25 years with this company. After many years of paying what I found out were outrageous prices for coverage, AAA dropped me like a hot potato after a small, non-injury accident and a ticket that was three years old! Maybe it had something to do with the fact I turned 50 too? I was so disappointed, I vowed never to go back. I am now with Geico, who charges extremely reasonable rates for the very same coverage, roadside assistance included, and I am talking over $100 less a month!! AAA expects loyalty from its customers but gives none in return. Take the time to shop around, please. AAA's reputation for being the best is just no longer true. read more

There have been several times when we needed help from AAA, ranging from flat tires to major auto collisions. They have always been here for us. We have dealt with the local office for years and have always received excellent service. Our most recent issues included a collision and a transfer of ownership of one of our cars. The were able to resolve the problems in a very short time. read more

The customer service at this office was horrible! I took my mother in law here to sort out out the auto and home isurance due to the death of my father in law. Upon walk in we told her the reason for our visit and explained we do not have all the documents as his passing was unexpected. She seemed annoyed and short even though we expressed that he had just passed and we did not know where he kept the docs needed. The lady at the DMV desk was very helpful and knowlagable, hence the 2 stars. After this we were sent over to talk to the front desk lady again, she had us wait in line again as if just arrived then proceeded to ask 1 question at a time then go back to someone's cubicle, and come back ask another... this happened 4 different times with at least 2-5 min between. Basic questions that could have been answered if she allowed me to give her what paperwork we did have. Once we finally got to, what I can only assume is the person's cubicle she was speaking with between each question, we were asked ALL THE SAME QUESTIONS again. Again we were met with short rude answers and ZERO EMPATHY for my mothers situation. Although it was explained before his passing he handled all the bills and paperwork. The lady put my mother through stress by telling her that her RECENTLY PASSED husband didn't put her in the deed!! And that she is not insured. My mother was almost in tears... STILL WE RECEIVED ZERO EMPATHY for her situation!!! This was incorrect!! We have the deed and my mother is on it! Turns out the policy was filed incorrectly by what she said is an office in Utah by a guy who no longer works there cause he didn't do his job. These people (with the exception of the person that helped with the DMV) need to be retrained on their customer service skills!!! read more

This review is long overdue as I've been with AAA for quite some time. [+2 yrs] If any of you have any policy needs I ONLY recommend John Daugherty. I can't speak for the others because I've never been helped by the others or had to go to anyone else for help. John always responds to voice mails. If I ever needed to add a new car, restart my policy, pay on the phone because I got locked out of my online account, figure out emergency road side assistance, and find the best deal for what I'm looking for John has been there with the answers. He doesn't waste your time, takes into consideration when you have work and always gets back to you with a message. I'm saving so much money with AAA and having the best possible customer service. You can go else where and get a cheaper policy, but when you have an agent that goes above and beyond for you it makes all the difference; and is the whole reason why I have not left AAA. If you need a new policy call this establishment and ask for John D. On top of wonderful service I'd like to point out to prospective members that the membership & insurance are completely worth it. Labor Day Monday/2016 I had a flat tire on my vehicle. I didn't have the proper tools to remove the lug-nuts because they were super torqued. They came and took the tire off put on the spare and I was able to take it down the street to get a flat repair for $10. It was Labor Day Monday and it only took ONE HOUR !!! to get to my home. They have DMV services so I NEVER have to go to the DMV again. Free maps. Travelers needs. Everything. So two things. 1.) go talk to john, 2.) get yourself a AAA membership & ins policy ;D read more

I'm not a member of AAA but I went there to get an international drivers license for $20 the processing of the form was quick. Paying for the service was another story took forever because there was a trainee at the register. This was the only register open for business. Over all the employees that I dealt lacked professionalism in the way they dressed and in the fact that they did not greet a person or acknowledge your presence, a very basic rule of customer service. I would not return to this office. If you're going to wear flip-flops or sandals to work then make sure and get a pedicure. read more

I wish I could give no stars! This location is HORRIBLE!!! I took my lunch break and drove across town to come here to do something simple and straight forward and they denied me over something that has NEVER been a problem for me at AAA DMV in the past! All I needed was for the woman behind the DMV counter to do was take someone off the title of my car. The person to be removed off my title had a AAA membership. The woman behind the counter REFUSED to do it because I didn't have a AAA membership as well. What the &$@# is that about!? I even stated to her "the person who wants to be removed is here with me and has the membership card and I.D. in hand and is asking you to do your job and fulfill AAA membership obligations". "This person is on title and id member!!!" I had to take MORE time off the next day (today) and go to the Roseville DMV just to get it completed! Thanks for NOTHING AAA! Even the Roseville DMV employees commented on how ridiculous the AAA DMV behavior was over this SIMPLE task! Even without an appointment the Roseville DMV had it done in 10 minutes! I WILL NEVER PURCHASE AAA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE OR INSURANCE AFTER THIS MISERABLE AND RIDICULOUS EXPERIENCE! read more

I must say the rep took really good care of me. It was time for my tags renewal. This rep updated my address in the computer. I moved from Los Angeles county to Sacramento county. Best thing about this location is the DMV counter! No waiting in line at DMV just bring in you AAA card and your registration or pink slip paperwork and take care of your transactions here. They are fast and knowledgeable and most basic transactions are able to be preformed here. You can also make your insurance payments pick up maps and tour guides, plan travel or get an insurance quote. There usually isnt a line and at most I have had 3 people ahead of me they only have one person doing DMV transactions but it goes fairly fast since some people are just paying their registration and getting stickers not making transfers or something like I usually need to do. Anyhow this place will save you some serious time if you have AAA card and need to go to DMV come here first you might me pleasantly surprised to find that you have and extra hour or two now to do something else than sit at DMV with all those crazy people. read more

Had all necessary paperwork, got my stickers and turns out DMV owes me $97.00 and a check will me mailed to me! Go AAA! I plan on using their services again when I travel. read more

I was greeted, directed to the window, and was assisted by a very nice, extremely competent person...very knowledgeable. I left with my updated registration and license in about 30 minutes total. Today, I decided to call and seek out brochures for travel. I had an idea of a few locations but was undecided on a destination for a family vacation. After the agent identified herself, I asked if she could send me the 2016-2017 brochure which I located online. I started to describe the brochure and was rudely interrupted by several questions on what type of brochure or travel and the destination in which I was interested in. I didn't mind the questions as she was seeking out details of me; however, the agent's tone and lack of professionalism was so belittling as if I was the most incompetent customer ever. When I was finally able to add a word in, I indicated I was not sure as to what destination and then I was again told there were so many brochures therefore no way she could just send me them out. To my dismay, I have never been spoken to in this manner and so realizing it was a mistake to call, I frustratedly said, "nevermind, thank you anyways" and hung up. I immediately got a call back from the agent telling me that I had misunderstood what she was telling me. On the contrary, I completely understood that you were rude to a customer, you did not allow her to speak and that she was simply seeking out a couple of brochures and/or some recommendation on travel destinations. I was not looking to be spoken to in the manner I was. I will not use AAA for travel destinations and would definitely share my experience in regards to the Citrus Heights office. read more

I always like taking care of my DMV services at this office. The line was very long this last time and I had my 3 kids with me. An employee there, Donna K I believe was her name. She was very sweet, she got things for my kids to color, gave them water and a few stickers. Enough to keep them occupied and happy during the 20+ minute wait. This was longest wait I've had there and it's still shorter than any DMV and I would never get the customer service I just described at the DMV. read more
