Guess AAA office in Folsom is not open on Saturdays. I just found this out, inquiring about passport photos. Useless for people who work long hours Monday-Friday and can't make it there during the week, like so many people. So I will have to go elsewhere and pay for the service I was going to use with my membership. The longer I am with AAA (since 1987), more and more disappointed I am. Last time I was there last spring, I had booked an appointment online. I walked in and they said they had no record of it. I showed them the confirmation on my phone as proof, which did me no good. I had a Dr. Appointment and had allotted 40 minutes for AAA with my appointment confirmation, with lots of time to get to my Dr. Appointment 3 miles away. The lady at the front looked at me and said: Well, you are not in MY system, so I will have to add you to the line and you will have to wait. ARE YOU F-ing kidding me? It's YOUR fault and you putting me at the back of the line??? The kind members saw my outrage and must have sympathized, and all offered to let me go first. Due to their kindness I got my deceased father's car title transferred on time and still made it to my doctor's office. Had the good people in the office not offered their help, I would have had to choose between registering my dead father's car legally to me, or making it to my Doctor's appointment thanks to AAA. That was not the first time, their system messed up an online appointment either. The first time, I just chalked it up to bad technology. This time it's a combination of poor technology and bad customer service. Will seriously question re-upping my AAA roadside service this summer when it's due, which I have paid for year after year since the 1980's and only used towing service a handful of times over those years. I don't truly get my money's worth a year from them, so when I do go, if I don't get the service I need efficiently, what's the point? I figure I don't ask for much from AAA, and when they fail more than once in a year or two, it's 100% unacceptable. read more

I had set up an appointment at the Folsom branch on October 18th as the seller of the car lived in Folsom. He wanted to transfer the ownership to me at the branch. Both the seller and I visited the branch and were greeted by an agent at the entry desk. He was very professional and courteous and provided us the paper work and the instructions for this transfer. We only had to wait for 5 minutes for the counter agent, Toni MacKinnon. Although we had finished only partial paperwork, she told us that she will walk us through rest of the paper work and had the full patience to help us complete it. She was very cheerful, courteous and competent. Unfortunately the car had not gone through the smog test and we got stuck. She did not have to but provided us a smog place location nearby and told us not to worry as the transaction will be completed within minutes after receipt of the smog result. After we came back to the branch everything was ready. But we had to make a modification to the sale price. Toni did not flinch and help us complete the whole paper work all over again with the new price. I couldn't be happier more after receiving this excellent service from the branch and Toni. During the small talk conversation, she indicated that it was her wedding anniversary day as well and she had been working for CSAA for 20 years. Congratulations to Toni. No reason to go to DMV when one can get such excellent service at CSAA. read more

I would give this place ZERO starts if I could. I have been an AAA member for over 5 years and never had an issue. Today their so called "manager" by the name of Alexandra Trent just denied me as a customer because she "didn't" approve of the mask I was wearing even though both my face and my mouth were covered, and the mask was completely safe. She gave me attitude when I asked her why as I re adjusted my mask, discriminated against me, and told me to leave. I was denied service. As of now; me, my wife, my kids, my father, and my mother will all be canceling all of our memberships and insurance policies with AAA because of the way Alexandria Trent treated me. Because of the pandemic, I wanted to know if I could get my tags earlier than two months out. sometimes, California DMV changes its' regulations, so I was curious. After waiting 10 minutes on the phone, a male voice answers with a tone, I inquired about the time frame to get my tag. he said, you have to come in 2 weeks before the due date. I said, really, it use to be 2 months out. in a very snotty tone, he comes back with, if you knew that why call and hung up. Second disturbing experience, 3 weeks later, I go in to get my tag, After waiting longer than at the California DMV, I get to go back. The person that took me back was unpleasant, not even as polite as a DMV worker. As I was counting my money for the tag, I noticed $20 dollars was missing. As I spoke about this to myself, I must have mentioned that my wife gave me 20 extra dollars to get gas. This was a private conversation between myself, but the AAA DMV worker decided to bring his opinion into my private conversation, and in a snotty tone said, so your wife give you money. I believe this was off the wall and was completely irresponsible. You see, I was talking to myself about missing money, and 2, how is it any of AAA business how my wife and I spend our money. this AAA worker had the manners of a barn animal. I recently moved and didn't change my mailing address in time for my DMV renewal to reach me. I realized it was due at the end of the month (it was already the 16th!) and tried to get a DMV appointment...they were booked out for over a month! Stressing, I told my fiancee I had to go to DMV and stand in line. He reminded me that he'd bought me a new AAA membership so I could just go there instead-I was thrilled! I found our local branch in Folsom and was pleasantly surprised that it was in the same shopping center as my Pilates gym, so I was able to work out and get my truck registered on the same trip The AAA office was relatively new, nicely decorated, and had comfy chairs and refreshments in the waiting area. I was immediately greeted by a nice woman and told I had a couple of people ahead of me, but I'd be put into the queue. You can see where you are in line on a huge monitor, and even with people ahead of me it didn't seem like I waited a long time. The technician was friendly and fast, so I was in and out with my new registration in a flash! What a great experience! Today my husband and I had a difficult transaction to deal with...taking a family member's auto out of his name as he recently passed and putting it into our name...no one there knew what the transaction was until we got to the agent who helped us...it was very crowd ed at the front of the office when we got there, but there was an extremely helpful and professional woman who took my name and cell phone number so that she could contact me with text to come back when my turn was near...this allowed for me to go and have lunch in the center...this was awesome as neither of us had eaten all day...so true to her word, she texted me with enough time for us to come back and get in the short "social distancing line"...both the woman at the front door and the young gal at the front counter were SO FRIENDLY AND WARM...we just signed up this morning so the experience was phenomenal to this point...once we got to the agent the atmosphere changed drastically and sadly it felt a lot like many visits to the DMV...minus the long lines...not sure if the agent was just having a bad day or what was going on...the friendliness that was previously experienced was nonexistent...and at one point there was even a slight rudeness...overall I will have to rate this as a good experience that could have been great. read more

What happened during my last two visits was enough for me to cut my card after 25 years of membership. Called ahead to ask if they could do a title transfer on a boat I bought out of state. They said they could so I loaded up the boat and towed it to AAA. I walked in and put my name in. I waited 20 or so minutes for my turn and then was called back to the DMV section where I was quickly advised that they could not help me and that I would have to go to DMV. I explained to them that I called ahead, towed the boat in and had been told they could after explaining everything to them. I said please coach your employees to make sure they know what information accurate before advising a customer. I got an "I'm sorry for your inconvenience". Fast forward a few weeks... I now had a private party purchase of an out of state vehicle to get done and I once again called ahead and asked the DMV people if they could help. They sad come on down as private party they could do the paperwork and VIN verification. I arrived an hour or two later with vehicle and trailer, driving through a rain storm to arrive as the storm passed. I went inside and asked to finish the transfer. "We don't do VIN verifications in the rain". I said "ok, but I called an hour ago and it was storming then, nobody told me they wouldn't able to help me". Again, "I'm sorry, but we can't help you". I then got a little irritated and told them the story of a nearly identical situation and how if they had given me accurate information, this would be avoided. "I'm sorry", they said again. I told them they need to do the VIN check because I just drove an hour and a half and they KNEW I was driving in the rain... said nothing. I sit down and a few minutes later another person comes over and tell me they can't help me. I'm not getting angry as the excuse is the rain... I look outside and the rain has stopped. She disagrees and I show her that all the paperwork I walked in with is dry, it is no longer raining. "I'm not going to debate if it's raining or not, we can't help you". She said. I started getting even more angry at the sheer unwillingness to help and the incompetent of the staff after multiple issues like this. I said "that's EXACTLY what we are going to debate because you claim you can't help me in the rain. "IT'S NOT RAINING!!!" I started to raise my voice. She tell me she can't help me and then PULLS HER CELL PHONE OUT AND THE YAHOO WEATHER APP TO SHOW ME IT IS RAINING OUTSIDE!!! I yelled, put the phone down and look out the window!!! I was stupefied!!!! I started to lose my mind that I'm arguing with someone that is relying on their phone to tell them it's raining rather than LOOK OUT THE WINDOW. I then said I wanted to cancel my membership and everything AAA as what am I paying for??? That's TWICE in a row I was given poor information that made me waste hours of my time just to get an "I'm sorry". I've been in this AAA several times and they've always been extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. However, today warrants a five star review. I came in to get my tags for my car and the woman next to me went off on a homophobic tangent to the poor agent next to the one helping me for wearing a Pride mask. The agent handled this woman with grace and intelligence and I don't know how she did it. She kept composure and professionalism while this woman went off on her with hateful slander. I drive a Toyota hybrid 2019 Avalon. Sunday I went to Costco to shop. When I left Costco I locked myself out my car. Triple A came out and could not open my car for a long time. The keys were in the trunk, but the doors would not open. I guess that's good to know, this car is hard to break into. Triple A needs better updated equipment. I do appreciate triple A and the guys determination to get me in my car, he was awesome! read more

He couldn't accept that he wrote a bad policy and when asked to re write and send over for review he lost is cool and spoke rudely and down to a colleague. Hearing the conversation made me cringe. She was completely nice to him; advocating on behalf of her clients and he made it clear he couldn't be bothered and pushed her off the phone, interrupting her questions and spinning it on her. My family and I had AAA for years! Years. My husband and I divorced and I could no longer afford AAA prices. Only 10 months ago, I purchased a AAA battery for $107.00 which was installed by one of their auto places, i.e., Cozz's Auto Body and Service, that came to my home. Now, 10 months later, the battery is dead! I called AAA and they said I'd have to pay to have Cozz's come out to my home and install a new battery under the 3 year warranty. Wow - for the price of having them come out, I can buy a NEW battery - literally. My suggestion? DO NOT buy a battery from AAA, unless you are damn sure that you will continue with them for the length of the battery warranty. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and angry. UPDATE: I have read the so-called WARRANTY for the 3 year battery that Cozz's installed in April 2013, less than 11 months ago. There is nothing there that states I should have a AAA membership in order to honor the Warranty. I called Cozz's, the auto business that installed the battery; they said that I CANNOT have my new Roadside Auto Progam (Geico) tow my car to them, so that they can replace the defective battery that they installed. What this means: I would have to pay Cozz's $97.00 to come here and replace the $107.00 defective battery! I am basically being punished because I cannot afford AAA's prices for roadside assistance policy. I have read the Battery Warranty front and back and nowhere does it state that in order to replace a defective battery that I cannot use my own towing service to get the car to Cozz's and have the battery replaced. This is outrageous. At no time whatsoever did Cozz's Auto Body inform me that the Warranty would be exempt if, in the 3 year warranty time period, that the Warranty would not be honored unless I had the AAA membership. I would suggest to all that reads this, NOT to EVER buy a battery via AAA. So, what AAA and Cozz's Auto Body is telling me that when I Purchased the battery, I should have had the car towed to another place that had NOTHING to do with AAA; had I done that, I could now have this defective battery replaced at no extra cost by having it towed by my NOW roadside assistance program that is Geico. I will be taking AAA and Cozz's Auto Body to small claim's court and have a judge decide if my money should be returned. As it is, I have no car as it sits dead as a doornail in my driveway. AAA should be ashamed of themselves since they are a big conglomerate corporation!!! Ashamed!!!! read more

I went into the office on Saturday morning and was the third person on the wait list which took about 10 minutes or less before my name was called. I had the form for DMV completed which I picked up from my local San Jose office and was able to pick up my new license plates, stickers then once I had the old plate removed from the car I dropped it off at the office. 20 Minute wait to pay my car registration? I stopped into AAA to pay my car registration and was told it would be a 20 minute wait to write a check for my registration. Here's the kicker, when I asked if I can simply leave them a check, the gal said, "No". It's service like this which is the reason why Amazon is putting brick and mortar out of business. The cost to have these shops available is reflected in my insurance premiums which is why I've hired a broker to shop the best rates. It would have been faster to go to the DMV. read more

Let's go! I had no idea I could skip the DMV lines and print off registration at AAA! This was great! I came in two days. The first day the agent found out that I was insuring the wrong car. The wrong vin was causing multiple headaches for me. This is something you would never think of, normally. She found it instantly. I cannot say enough good things about Dolores Hill at AAA. We own property in a high-risk area for fire. I am starting to lose count of how many insurance companies have dropped us due to increased fire risk. Dolores sticks with us EVERY TIME. Because my husband and I have gone through so many home insurers we can say this with certainty: Ms. Hill approaches her work as a service to the community, not a job. She spends a lot of precious time (that most insurers spend racking up a high volume of the easily-insurable) to go the extra mile (and mathematically-speaking losing the extra buck) and help the thousands of Californians who are in the same scary predicament that we are in. She could have easily dismissed us with "your mortgage company can arrange something" each time an insurance contractor dropped us. But she hasn't. Not for us nor for the many homeowners she represents. This woman is a true advocate for California homeowners. I am literally thanking the Lord that she is a woman of conscience and a woman who clearly approaches her work as a mission. AAA sucks during this crisis they have refused to help out. They have DMV kiosk and are listed for registration renewal but they wont let you use it unless you pay the $75 to be a AAA member.
