I see that my last review was from 2017 so it is time for an update. We went to the Galleria in…read moreAugust 2026 and it had been a long time since we were at this mall, about seven years. This time, we stayed at a nearby hotel and walked into the Galleria so we did not have to deal with traffic and parking. The last time we were here, our impression was that the mall was mainly upscale, expensive stores. In 2026, there are a lot more moderately priced stores that are intended not to be so exclusive. After walking around for a while, our main activity was for the kid to do ice skating. It is basically $20 for unlimited skating, although it has to be continuous. You can't leave and come back. The price includes skates but you have to buy socks if you did not bring any. She was not very good at skating to begin but got better and better as time went on. We were there about 1.5 hours and that was enough. The activity seems to be attractive for kids, teens, and even adults. There were even a few people who seemed professional level. The kid begged us to do skating again the next day so she obviously enjoyed it.

What an awesome mall.. coming here for the first time, and I was blown away with the number of…read moreshops and the variety of shopping experience in this mall . Parking was a bit confusing. I wish there was help in the parking lots. We initially thought the parking was outside Westin Galleria, but figured out that there were parking on the other side for the mall... good thing is the parking is free.. There's also a huge hotel right within the mall... there was also a skating rink, but in the mall and lots of them are enjoying their skates.. Name the brand and you have it here.. lots and lots and lots of shopping to do. Also Starbucks, juice, shops, and other places to eat within this mall. There was some work going on with escalators and had to walk around for other options... great location and convenient for anyone visiting Dallas.. slightly pricey with most shops.. worth the walk and time well spent here.. 4 stars ..

Any organization/business/individual can occupy a parking spot on Main Street downtown to do with what they like. When the opportunity presented itself to Yelp, I instantly was drawn the idea as it brings the community together in a free, interactive, and creative way. But when I was placed next to the Nasher and a live poetry set, I was even more in love with the concept. My parking spot neighbor had a make shift living room built with actual grass as the foundation while a book swap sponsored by D Magazine and the Dallas Public Library. My only wish is if the city allowed this to happen more often and longer than just a Friday afternoon.

What a dream for a new urbanism nerd like me!…read more On this warm sunny September day, Pegasus Plaza and a portion of Main Street were invaded by the wonks behind PARKing Day Dallas. The human side of the street were beautifully barricaded from the traffic rush by lush planters and shrubbery to create an urban oasis for all to enjoy. These lush barriers created "booths" with a variety of activities from a drum circle, displays by the Nasher, D Magazine , a kid-sized soccer field, and of course the lovely Yelp ambassador, Frances G. Main Street is truly the heart of Downtown yet this makeshift setup brought it even more life and brought the street down to a human scale. I recently visited Toronto where throughout the city center, setups like this are permanent and well received. I can only hope that the word gets out on PARKing Day so that it can spread throughout the city and maybe one day become permanent,
