Had Alfredo replace an historic concrete wall. Made a serious serious mess of our lawn with a backhoe and cost us almost $2000.00 to repair the irrigation lines they drove over and broke. When laying a new foundation they simply concreted in the irrigation pipes going to the garden bed outside the wall meaning all these had to be later replaced. They damaged the street outside with the backhoe. My first reaction was, that these were some of the most careless subs I have ever used. But then it just got worse.
First stucco coat on the new wall was a joke. After having him back three times to re-coat it (first two coats of stucco were so thin you could see the block work underneath). The job which should have taken two weeks too two months.
Then when we go to install the historic wrought iron fence panels which have all just been straightened and restored, we find the eighteen wall panels and base are not remotely square, or even level. Unbelievable!
We then have to spend another $1500.00 and a huge amount of time making it look like it is straight and re-stuccoing the wall to fill in the gaps. Alfredo's answer was .."this is construction and stuff like this happens" Really? On a block perimeter wall job costing over $20k? read more
