I've emailed them, I've provided all the information they asked for to investigate the incident, I had 2 people corresponding with me to rectify the situation, and now, nothing. They said they'd investigate, and they said they'd follow up, and nada. This is almost now a full month past when I posted the review, and 3 months past the actual incident. I havent even heard a suggestion of a solution. UPDATE 11/17/17: "I did check with a damage specialist and he informed that you can bring their vehicle to our service provider at (location). Let me know what you would like to do so we can make the arrangements" Nothing about their employee, nothing additional about the interaction, just an excuse for the delay, and then an out of place message. We had business at AAA in Redwood City. A Ms. Julie Fry assisted us. She extended the best possible customer service. She worked on our needs for a full half-hour after she had to punch out for lunch. I believe we "ate into" her lunch hour. I have been an AAA member for quite a few years. I have not had to use the road service feature very much, but have found the DMV services to be really worth it. Unfortunately, earlier this year, I had a situation where I had a tire severely damaged on a rainy night and needed a tow. I called AAA, but they seemed to have some issue with the billing status on my account. I was on hold for more than 30 minutes while they talked to a few supervisors and the accounting department. I finally concluded that this wasn't going to happen, hung up, and called my insurance company, which charges me about $1 a month for roadside assistance. They were there in 15 minutes, and I was on my way. AAA never called me tack to see if I was alive, okay, or whether I still needed their help. I am afraid to say I am done for good with AAA. I'll stand in the line at the DMV. read more

This utterly rocks. Especially compared to the DMV nightmare. Didn't realize AAA did DMV stuff for you. You still have to wait a little but it's 5 times faster than the miserable 2.5 hour cattle line snaking out the door of the DMV. Above all, five stars... for being OPEN ON SATURDAY!! Salvation... this is the tedious stuff that you just CAN'T get done during the work week, and here is a nice quiet AAA office with a super efficient agent just chopping through all the overhead and paperwork for one person after another without a break. Recently, the San Mateo location was closed and all traffic has since been rerouted to Redwood City or further out. At the Redwood City location, they are experiencing significant challenges with triaging the increased volume. They only had one line serving all customers. If you have a simple member transaction (i.e., ticket purchase, bill payment, etc.), you have to wait in the DMV line. Many of the people in line were voicing concerns about the long wait and nothing was being done to address the issue. There were still closed windows and not enough customer service agents. They clearly were not prepared for this level of business and the location is not conducive to serving the needs of their existing members. read more

My mother in law came in to add insurance for the family vehicles last week and since it was her first time doing this she didn't know better they were charging almost $1,000 a month!! Currently we were just looking to add insurance for a new vehicle purchase so we told her to just go and only add that vehicle which we were quoted $300 after she declined and the associate Vanessa was super rude and told her that she just wasted her time and she could have helped someone else who was serious about getting insurance. Avoid this brach and this person at all cost. They discriminate based on your ethnicity, she would have never spoken to someone who is fluent in English like this. Since when it's it okay to talk to someone like this! Last thing I knew if I want to inquire about 1000 vehicles it's your job to provide an estimate regardless of what the outcome would be. I am so dissatisfied with this location, I WORK AT KAISER REDWOOD CITY SO I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE THE CLOSEST AND FASTEST PLACE TO GET THE REGISTRATION RENEWAL AND IT APPEARS NOT TO BE! I've gone 3 times this week and only one person helping out the customers which I find so lame!! Today I went in again SATURDAY, I checked online to see hours and it does not say they close out for lunch so I get there and I dnt see a sign either closing for lunch so I stand in line for good 10-15 until some customer gets up and tells me that the lady at the DMV SERVICES WILL BE CLOSING FOR LUNCH AFTER SHES DONE HELPING THE CUSTOMER INFRONT OF HER!! It would be helpful to have a sign up saying they close out for lunch!! This is why I stick to my location in Hayward!!! read more

This location is about 25 miles away from my home. I have a AAA about a mile from me but they don't do Out-of-State transfer of titles. I could've went to San Mateo AAA but they were appointment based and never picked up any of my phone calls. So, based on the recommendation of a friend, I walked in without an appointment for this DMV service. I walked in at about 12PM and other people were getting their registrations too. The line was about 6 people long and only one person was processing DMV services. It took about 15 minutes for me to up...the DMV service lady was doing an efficient job. When she told me I needed additional paperwork from a Vehicle Inspection, she said I could just jump to the side of the line so I wouldn't have to wait. The lady who did my vehicle inspection was very nice and efficient. When I was finished with the inspection the line was at about 10 people, still one lady doing the DMV services. I still had to wait for her to process 2 customers so I waited about an additional 10 minutes. Afterwards, I got my insurance updated and the gentleman who processed it was courteous and straightforward as well! Overall, great place to get business done here but I think they should have another DMV Representative help out to get the line moving quicker. Either way, it's still better than going to the DMV itself! read more

Parking is horrible! The spaces are so narrow and large SUV's will not fit. There is only a few spaces allocated for AAA use. It's the only AAA on the peninsula. There was 10 people ahead of me on a Friday afternoon. BUT JULIE WAS FABULOUS! She made the experience! She triaged the line so you didn't have to wait needlessly in the wrong line. She helped several people at a time. If I needed an employee, I would have offered her a job. Give that lady a raise. read more

Did you know this place was a DMV? Let me repeat, this place is a DMV without the long lines, rude workers and "rather stick a poker in my eye" feeling when you walk in. I don't think they perform all of the DMV services, but so far I've been able to pay registration, get a new license, and manage those types of tasks. The staff is very friendly and I have never waited longer than 10 minutes. This location also provides all of the normal AAA services such as route planning, vacation planning, maps, discount tickets, etc. Highly recommend! read more

I've been here a few times for DMV services, register my cars, look for trips, etc. Every time I have had a positive experience. The people there were friendly. Also, the lines move fairly quickly as compared to other AAA locations. When I updated my car registration, I was in and out within 20 minutes. You can't do that at the DMV even with an appointment. Recently, I went here to register an additional car to the policy. The people there were really nice. They changed my policy with relative ease and did offer some services that I might be interested in. They spoke with me but wasn't pushy when I wanted to think about it and get back to them. read more

DMV is the worst place ever, thus I avoid it at all costs. Being a AAA member you get the perk of using their DMV office ..... This is a separate counter in the AAA office. I went there to register by vehicle. There was no line whatsoever. I paid my fee (Cash or Check only!) and got my new tags in under 5 minutes. Very disappointed at AAA customer service! I had the worst experience of my life this past Labor Day weekend! I guess my payment for my car registration to the DMV online didn't get completed somehow and they said to watch out for fraudulent DMV sites to make a payment. The lady told me the Friday before Labor Day weekend that if they showed proof of payment in their system by next Tuesday when they were opened again that she'd issue my tags and then give them to me. So I drive all the way from Half Moon Bay to Redwood City just to find out that the lady on Friday misinformed me about paying my registration dues online and basically lied to me!! So the lady at AAA on Tuesday said they changed their policy in their system that if you pay online to the DMV you must wait for the tags to be mailed which takes 3-4 weeks!!!! Of course the DMV is already closed so I've got to risk getting a fix it ticket AGAIN and go all the way to the DMV on Wednesday. I'm not leaving the DMV until they give me my tags!!!! I've got a full time job and I've got to eat and live too just like everyone else! I don't understand what happened to the great service I used to get in the past!!!! They changed for the worst. We've used our local AAA for a variety of services over the years with good results. Their roadside assistance has been a godsend. The free maps we use regularly (very nice automated machine in their lobby now). We recently used their travel services, and were very pleased with the service we received from Terri. Very attentive to details, and very courteous. We're using Terri again for an upcoming trip without hesitation. It helps to call ahead for an appointment if you can. read more

Having the AAA membership makes adulating a tad bit more easier. Weather you are using their services for travel purposes or taking advantage of skipping the DMV line and jumping into a shorter line to get your adulting tasks done quicker. The Redwood City AAA location is reletivly -aight. The parking situation can either be great or a plain nightmare since the parking lot is shared with two other businesse. Highly recommend going either really early morning when they open to after the lunch rush (after 1:30-3:00). I will say the service is exceptional. I've used their DMV services the individuals behind the desk aren't greeting you with a huge welcome but they do go above and beyond to help you. read more

I recently visited the Redwood City AAA location to renew the registration on my car. I make the trip to this AAA location for this purpose every year. Though the office is small, the staff manages to assist everyone as quickly as possible without forteiting quality of service. Some issues are complex, taking more time, others simple and quick. It's the convenience, courtesy and professionalism of the staff that I appreciate. This year was no different. Like others who have commented, there are times when I wait in line to be helped. I'm happy to wait! Better than making a trip to the DMV or a travel agent. read more

Do NOT come here for passport photos. I needed an international drivers permit, and they said they would take a picture for me. However, when I got in, the lady said their setup is awful and that the colors come out "green". And sure enough, it wasn't good at all. On top of that, there was shadows which aren't allowed in a passport photo either. Seriously disappointing, and on top of that, I was literally the only person in line but was forced to wait around for 10-15 minutes for no reason. I just wanted to give a shout out regarding my experience with AAA insurance for the claims process I went through to get compensated for the jackholes that stole my stereo out of my car (I know...who steals car stereos anymore)? What made it particularly frustrating was that the day after the incident I was scheduled to trade my car in. I filed the claim the day after the incident. It was a straightforward process that took all of 15 minutes on the phone. I took my car to a local dealer for an estimate to have the car fixed and then traded it in, taking a hit on the trade in value and causing me to have to put down a larger down payment. Within a week I had my claim payment direct deposited to my bank account. Luckily I haven't had to file a claim with them for nearly 15 years so I didn't know what to expect. But I have to tell you I was really impressed. read more

Cant rate AAA on its own so this will have to do. No idea if its just on mobile or also on pc but either way it doesnt matter as I should be able to access the aaa website from either one. But guess what I cant!!! Always get an error message or blank pages when trying to view benefits or even make a payment. Fix your damn website. I had an excellent experience today at AAA in Redwood City! I went to transfer the title to a car I got and imagined that it might be a DMV-like experience. I was prepared to complete lots of paperwork and provide lots of documentation to transfer the title and take lots of time. Instead, I walked up to the DMV counter of AAA and asked them to help me with the transfer of the title. I signed a couple of documents, checked a few boxes, paid, and was out of there in less than five minutes. I'm not sure if it had more to do with the low expectations set by the actual DMV, but I walked out pleasantly surprised. read more

I want to start by saying that my family have been loyal AAA customers since the early 50's using them for home & auto insurance, roadside assistance, DMV services and numerous vacations. That being said...this Redwood City location makes me want to poke my eye out with a stick. It is the closest location to my office and I have tried on several occasions to get something accomplished during my lunch break. Total waste of time. Employees are generally slow, unfriendly, not helpful and act like doing their job is a nuisance. I walked in today to simply pick up some travel brochures and was told I couldn't do that without talking to an agent (what?!?). After waiting for over 20 mins, without anyone acknowledging me or letting me know how much longer I'd be waiting, I got up and left without notice. This is similar to my previous visits. Already unhappy that I had to go to the RWC location because the San Mateo office has closed permanently. The DMV service here was extremely bad. Clerks were very slow. I waited in a long "DMV" line for 1/2 hour, then 2 customers came in and got in line at a sign that was for "Member Services". They got to cut in front of me as well as 8 other people in line to have their DMV paperwork processed. When I made a comment to the clerk helping me that the lines need to be labeled better so people don't "cut". The clerk said she didn't want to turn the lady away even though she was in the wrong line. Made me even madder. Also, there was an employee sitting by the front door that should have been directing customers which line to wait in. Wasn't doing his job. read more
