I went into the office to get an International Drivers License. The attempt to call ahead to the office was futile. I am really impressed with this place! I went to get a temporary DP and arrived at 8:55am. It opened right at 9am, and in 15 minutes I had a DP placard. When I left there were only two people waiting and another person was being helped. I found the staff to be exceptionally polite and helpful. From the number of chairs in the waiting area it's clear that it gets busy, but these folks are both efficient and pleasant to work with. read more

Thank you Liz, Marisol, and John! I had made a Saturday appointment to register my car from out of state. When I arrived I learned that they normally only do that service M-F, but Liz and Marisol were incredibly kind and made an exception for me, which meant I didn't have to take a half-day off work during the week! Everything went so smoothly until it was time to remove my old plates and attach my new ones. Unfortunately, a screw attaching my old plates was stripped so it was nearly impossible to remove. John went above and beyond to help me figure out how to get it removed, even bringing me next door to the tire shop. Long story short, I had to take it to a nearby mechanic and come back to reattach my new plates, but John was so patient and pleasant the entire time! My advice - definitely come here over the DMV, call ahead to make sure you bring the correct forms, make your appointment for a weekday, and be kind to these great people! read more

I originally walked in to Triple A 3 years ago to try to get some registration stickers replaced and avoid the DMV. I also was shopping for new car insurance. I met Evelyn King, who gave me an excellent run down of various coverages for my car, as well as Renters insurance. She asked great questions to get me the most discounts. And most of all, she was friendly, professional, prompt, and thorough. She gave me several printouts and ran the numbers many times so I could have the rate and coverage that was right for me. Since then, I have not seen her in person, but communicated effectively through email where she gets back to me within a day, or multiple times per day. We just waited an hour and a half in line to get through the AAA DMV. It's not the workers working the desk, they said that it's been just like this ever since they closed down the San Mateo office three weeks ago. This is an intolerable situation. AAA needs to find another San Mateo location. If this is a cost saving issue, then they should deduct a large percentage of my membership fee. I tried to register my complaint to the telephone membership number, and I was put on hold for 15 minutes until I finally gave up. This is not the AAA service that I've been used to for the last 55 years. Something needs to be done and something needs to change. Recently my wife and I utilized AAA in Redwood City. As we were processing our paperwork at the counter with the clerk, the manager walked up, interrupted our transaction and began speaking with the clerk. She was rude and disrespectful. I told her so , she ignored us and she then walked away. She went back behind the counter & stood there glaring at us. If I could give zero stars to this rep and the staff I would. I have been a AAA member for years now and I recently filed a claim due to a car accident. I was given my claims rep (Mayra Soto) number and information to get into contact with her if I had any questions. I called her numerous times since the accident on 10/11, left voicemails to her mailbox and even sent an email to which NONE have been responded to. I then called her manager Matthew Turner and left him a voicemail stating that I have tried to get in contact with Mayra but she has not called me back to please give me a call since I had questions about my claim. NO CALL BACK WAS MADE!!! I then received a letter from Octavius Cranford who had been assigned to handle the liability investigation and reached out to him to see if he could answer my questions/concerns. And yet again NO CALL BACK. Today I receive an email from Mayra with just a general email with my estimate. It states in the email to give her a call if I have any questions about it, so I give her a call at exactly 8:30 AM ( which is when she starts) to see if I could finally get a hold of her. NOPE!!! Both calls went straight to her voicemail. I leave yet another voicemail asking her to give me a call back since I have questions and I have been trying to get a hold of her for about a month and a half now. I HIGHLY doubt I will get a call back!!! The only rep that I have spoken to was the other parties rep who is also a AAA rep ( Linda Rocha). I spoke to her on 10/19 but she was SO rude I never wanted to deal with her again. She was cutting me off and wouldn't let me speak and was so condescending. Horrible, horrible experience with her!!! It is already stressful enough getting into a car accident and having to deal with insurance and things going on in your every day life. Her and her team have made this into a more stressful situation than it already is. It got to a point where I was looking into getting another claims rep and switching insurance! As a client who has never missed a payment and I pay a pretty good amount of money for my insurance, I deserve to get good treatment by the staff and get a response from SOMEONE! ANYONE!!! The rest of this location may be just fine, but after dealing with Jenny Gee with DMV items twice I've had enough. Will be using my old AAA location in West San Jose and Cupertino from now on. If you have to deal with Jenny Gee you must have done something cruel in a past life. She's one of those black voids that is vapid in personality, solutions or resolutions. She'll put on her glasses and offer generous customer disservice, and talk to you as if you are a toddler. One of the promises of AAA is that registration should be easier than the DMV. Since the AAA San Mateo store closed on Delaware St. In June 2019, they moved(merged) to redwood city AAA. it's like a rock concert now.Lines out the door . Very discouraging to have to wait so long in a line now for DMV etc. I humbly ask that there be a remedy for this....soon! Actually it is worst IN Redwood City AAA now than going to DMV. As a member this HAS ALWAYS been one of the luxuries of AAA.That is, having DMV IN AAA. Never thought I would say this but DMV office is more organized and faster in comparison.Just my opinion. Seems the road side service for this company is a straight joke. Especially if you have a motorcycle. They up the price for lack of customer service, definitely will be looking for a roadside service company that actually is there to help when you need it.
