2-3 stars is about right. They can sell you tires, ba s ic maintenance i.e., change oil, replace a battery but they're not mechanics, they're just parts changers. Dont expect them to fix anything that requires real knowledge. Would not recommend. read more

I took my vehicle there for the state safety inspection and they did everything they could to rip me off. They said I needed new rotors, new headlight housing and new wipers. I replaced all of these and there was nothing wrong with the old rotors. The headlights were cloudy so OK with that. I aimed the headlights exactly where the old ones were. When I took it back they tried to charge me for aiming the headlights to which I called BS so they didn't charge me (so they knew it was bogus). They replaced the new wipers saying I put on the wrong size and they put on eactly the same size!! Don't ever go there. read more

I brought my car in recently for a noise I didn't think was right. I left with a $551.60 brake flush. Crazy Here's the info - they looked at it and gave me a few recommendations for repair: 1. adjust air intake 2. Radiator pressure test for leaks 3. fix airbag error light 4. brake flush So, I told them Im fine to adjust the air intake myself thank you. NO REPAIR I asked them to do the radiator pressure test which they did but did NO REPAIR. they looked at the airbag sensor light but could not do the repair. NO REPAIR and I had them do the brake flush. They charged me: Diagnostic labor for the air intake $169.99 but did NO REPAIR or touch it. Diagnostic labor for radiator pressure test $84.99 but did no REPAIR not leaking Diagnostic labor for the airbag sensor light of $172.84 but COULD NOT MAKE A REPAIR AND WAS TOLD TO GO TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. NO REPAIR And the brake flush for $127.00 So after this a brake flush was THE ONLY repair done and $551.60 charged. OUTRAGEOUS! I asked for an adjustment for the diagnostics but was told NO. read more

However, if I would have purchased their 40% mark up sensors it would be fine... Would not install my tires on my rims. Don't know reason. But seems foolish to turn down business, but I guess if you don't need to worry about picking up more business during a pandemic, more power to them - just terrible. Avoid at all costs. Forgot to mention, this was my second attempt to give them a chance. Some years ago, I think it was 07, not sure the exact date, but this timeframe seems about right. I needed to have new break pads installed and have the rotors resurfaced as well. After having the work done, the resurfacing was done poorly and every time I would apply the brake when stopping, my Toyota would literally shake violently. Come to find out it was the result of not have the rotors honed evenly and square. If the honing is not properly done you get the shaking and the sensation of going over humps when applying the brakes. Don't know why I gave them a second chance after the first poor work effort was done, but after my latest experience I would suggest to avoid them and use the other auto repair/tire shops in the area. read more

The laundry list of issues with this place... Here we go. Well first I had a flat and a cracked rim and went to get it replaced. They tried selling me 4 tires and said its illegal for them to just put one on since my car was rated for W tires when I has H on them. I ended up talking to my regular mechanic who at the time was much further away and said I would never go fast enough for it to matter and they were trying to seriously RIP me off. A while later my mom went in for a transmission repair and that surprisingly went smoothly however they parked her car in a tow away zone and it got towed all the way to Springfield and almost made her pay for the tow until I got involved. This place tries to rip off anyone they think doesn't know anything about cars. Prices aren't that good, service is mediocre, ran by scam artists and they treat their customers like morons. Do yourself a favor and stay away. read more

LIARS AND SCAMMERS: This place should not only be out of business but the employees there, especially the state inspector, should be held accountable for their actions and the danger they put customers in. My girlfriend dropped off her 2016 HRV for an inspection and left to run errands. She was called later by the front desk telling her that her car failed inspection due to a bad left front ball joint and quoted her $289.48 + $20 inspection fee to repair. She did not move forward with the repairs and picked up the car right after. I checked the ball joint and saw no physical issues with the ball joint and no play. I took the car back to this shop and asked them to show me the bad ball joint. The inspector seemed nervous and showed me that there was play (loose) on the suspension. I told him the play wasn't due to the ball joint, and he asked someone else for their input, and the other guy said it was the strut mount. So they tried to charge my girlfriend for something that cost a max of $60-$80 to fix. I didn't let them do any work on the car and took it to our reputable mechanic to check it out after. We come to find out that the car's suspension had been tampered with on the front driver's side, which is what it originally failed for. These scammers removed the rubber gasket that goes on the top of the strut mount, making the right side tire have play when in the air, as the inspector showed me. If you look at the pictures on the right side (not tampered), the bolt has not been touched, but on the driver's side, the silver has been scratched off, meaning that someone put a ratchet on it to loosen it up and on top of that they left the gasket on top of the bolt after they took it off. This is something that we would not have noticed when opening the hood of the car. There is still a plastic cover that you have to take off to access the strut. Our mechanic even went as far as to say that there was nothing wrong with the gasket and put it back on in 3 minutes and the loose play went away. These scammers expected my girlfriend to agree to the repairs over the phone not to do any of the repairs but put the gasket back on in 3 minutes for $289.48. The worst part is when she did not agree to move forward with the repairs; they still let her drive out of the shop with a loose suspension which is the most frustrating part. These scammers not only tried to rob her, but they put her in danger by leaving her car like that. Ladies, please do yourself a favor and find another reputable shop or mechanic because these people will try to take advantage of you. They will clearly do anything to get money out of you, even if it means to tamper and screw with your car. I plan on submitting this to local news media outlets as well as reporting the state inspector. That inspector should not have a license or any access to a shop at all. I do not recommend this place, and even more surprised that it is a AAA shop; My wife had her car towed here yesterday after experiencing unusual shimmying and electrical related problems on her way to work. No problems at all with the tow job, but she called later to check in and was told by the service manager that she had a bad alternator, and it needed to be replaced. The price we were quoted for her car was very high- the highest I've seen for a similar job that I had done on my SUV. Due to the emergency nature of the work, the shop could not finish the job in a day so we left it overnight. When she called the next day, she was again told they were replacing the alternator, and it would be ready for pickup later that day. When we arrived, to my surprise, none of the work that she was quoted was on the bill- yet the bill amount was exactly the same! I spoke with the service manager who she spoke with and he advised "he'd mixed up the tickets"... but offered no other explanation. Bad experience. I will not be bringing our vehicles here again. read more

After twice having a nearby VA Tire store try to clip me for new tires to repair flats citing tread depth difference for tires that were less than 3 months old we went to The Tire Shop and the service was excellent, their staff easy to work with, and communication clear. My grandma took her car here last year for maintenance. She was charged $6 for an oil filter and during her oil change at Valvoline in Sterling a year later, they discovered that the Tire Shop never changed her oil filter! Over the past 10+ years I've taken 8 different vehicles to the Tire Shop for the full gamut of services. I've easily spent several thousand dollars there. Yesterday I took my Explorer in to have the water pump replaced, lift gate serviced, and state inspection. The quote I received was for $4700. When reviewing with the rep, I specifically questioned the 18 labor hours (at $150hr) and I was told by the rep they "will work with me" on cost. When I picked it up today the invoice was for $4800. When I pointed out the shop only had the vehicle for 1.5 days vs the full 2 and I'd like the labor savings they said the actual labor was 13 hours but they "go by the book" so they're charging me the full 18 - despite not incurring the cost. I challenged them on this logic and they gave me some BS answer about tech experience and expertise. I pointed out I've been a customer for 10 years and I would expect better service the manager offered me $100 off b/c $4700 "is what I signed for". Bottom line, I'm taking my business elsewhere. The Tire Shop will fix your vehicles but they clearly have no regard for loyalty or relationships. read more

I own a small automotive machine shop and have used most of the shops in the area for alignment, tire mounting, and balancing. "The Tire Shop" charged me $50 per wheel for mounting & balancing. I provided brand-new rims and brand-new tires; all they had to do is install and balance. In comparison, Purcellville Tire and Auto Service charge $25! Just got off the phone with the Tire Shop. I try to support local businesses, but am very disappointed with this interaction. I bought tires from them 3 years ago for about the same price as I would pay at Costco across the street (again...try to support local businesses). The problem is that they have a policy to not replace the stems (used for pressure monitoring) unless the Tire Shop deems it necessary. Fast forward 3 years, and the tire stem batteries that should have been replaced have died, signaling a warning alert in my car. I called them up inquiring about this issue and their response is tell me that it will cost $100 per tire to correct. What?!?!? They should have replaced them in the first place. Their competitor across the street replaces them for free with the tire change. Now I have to spend extra to get this fixed. This is sad to me. Feel like I am getting punished when buying from a local company that uses fine print to save a buck at my expense. read more

Don't go here, I made an appointment and they didn't order the tires. It's a tire shop! How can you not order tires for your customer?! I made the appointment two weeks in advice! This place is trash, customer service is nonexistent, and if you care about your vehicle go elsewhere. Literally the worse tire seller in the area or any other service! In my 36 years in this earth they have to be the worst experience. Sorry doesn't cut it! I went to another shop in the area and guess what they had everything together in 5 minutes not fumbling around for an hour. Saying "Oh we didn't order your tires." My time, money, and family deserve better. Plus even if I did get the tires through you would of tacked on extra charges for whatever you could find. I repeat, don't go here! read more

The name can be deceiving since you figure they strictly deal in tires and small repairs. Nothing can be more from the truth. Customer service is amazing but what really surprised me is that the Tire Shop has some amazing mechanics that can do it all. Andrew and Rusty have always been remarkable when it comes to caring about your needs. They treat you like part of their own family recommending the best possible solutions and products for your needs. My wife and I have been loyal customers since moving down from Philly in 2006. I have always owned Audis's and have always had bad experiences with all the dealerships within 50 miles of Leesburg. Andrew went way above the call of duty for me by speaking to Audi on a possible recall issue which would of cost me thousands of $ to get repaired without an Audi dealership getting involved. He made the appointment for me and spoke to the Tech at the dealership. After the car was getting worked on by the dealership, Andrew followed up with the actual mechanic to make sure everything was being done correctly. When he found out I also had some issues that did not fall into the recall category he made sure I was not going to get ripped off. Of course I am now bringing the car back "HOME" to the Tire shop to have the needed repairs and save $600. Thanks Andrew and the Tire shop. read more

Went here for the first time to get an emissions test and state inspection. The staff were extremely nice and actually pretty funny. I stumbled in at 7:30 am to do a drop off and the guy teased me about yawning so much. I told him well I'm probably gonna take a nap on that couch since I have to wait for the car. He then went on to tell about a time when one of their regular customers passed out on the couch. After he was asleep the staff placed empty wine bottles all around the guy and then took incriminating pictures. I laughed at this and decided taking a nap on the couch might not be a good idea. Besides the staff being awesome the service was a little slow the day I went but I think they were pretty busy that day. As far as prices went they seem pretty average as compared to other places. When I have other car issues I'm pretty sure I will return here and try them out again. read more

This place is as close to a hometown mechanic as you can get. The staff is very friendly and I always feel like they are being honest with me about what does and does not need to be done with my car. They get your car serviced quickly and I feel their prices are reasonable especially compared to the highway robbery that is called The Dealership. They have also sent us coupons for free car washes and appetizers at local restaurants for being loyal customers. These guys are great! I have had routine work done here - new tires, rotation, oil change - and they were efficient. Just yesterday I had a vehicle emergency and when I called to tell them to expect my car, they quickly found my information in their system and even told me that it wouldn't be as expensive as I feared! (Since the tire was under warranty.) At the day's end when they called to tell me my car was ready, they delivered some bad news, but they had already put together an estimate and an estimated time of completion. I ended up having it towed to my usual repair shop (since I was already scheduled to have work done on Friday), but I would have felt fine having the work done at The Tire Shop. These guys are personable, smart, and don't take advantage of a person's lack of car knowledge. I feel comfortable taking my car to them. read more

I wish i could give 6 stars. My family has been taking cars here for everything from standard service to new tires to repairs to keep them on the road for YEARS. Personally, I've been taking cars here since I could drive and I wouldn't go anywhere else. In fact- I now live in Reston and still drive to the tire shop. Andrew, Jason and everyone else there has always been super nice, quick, patient and fair. As an example, I took my 4runner to Toyota for routine maintenance (learned my lesson with this trip). They called me and offered to perform a front-end alignment since my truck was already on the lift for $180. I declined and called Andrew who laughed and explained that a front-end alignment should cost less than half that. Another time, my wife took her car to a local gas station for an oil change and they tried to sell her break pads. I took her car to the Tire Shop for new tires and had them look at the break pads which were good to go. These guys have always been great from oil changes to lift kits to tires for YEARS. Know when to go (if you drop your car off before work, there's going to be a line of people DUH), and you can mitigate the wait time. Customer service needs some brushing up. I wanted 4 new tires, but had a bent rim. I had to talk them through their options. So do you fix bent wheels? No. Do you know of a place that does? No. So can you get me a replacement? Yes. How long would that take? Anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks, sometimes replacements are hard to find. Scheduled an appointment, went in a week later with an OEM wheel. "We don't install customer furnished equipment." Ok, I'll take my business elsewhere. It would have been nice for them to give me what the options were and what their limitations were when I came in the first time. Also, their online quotes do not match what they try to charge in store, and I never got an reply to my online scheduled appointment, had to walk in the store to get an appointment. 2 stars because I guess I got tires... but minus 3 because I did not walk out with them on my car. read more

So.. I bought tires there a few months ago and one was losing air pressure. Brought it in and they fixed it at no charge. While I was there they offered to do my state inspection. Car "failed' because of the parking brake. They said it would be $2200 to fix it! Took to another service station and adjusted the brake for $20. Passed inspection no problem. I had a great experience the first time I went to the tire shop. It only took them an hour to put all four tires on. Second experience was terrible. Waited two hours and went up to the desk. The front desk had forgotten to put me in because four people who came in after me also left before me. After another half an hour they called me up and said nothing was wrong and they just turned my light off. When I got out to my car the tire was pushed against the curb, being from New York this made me a little aggravated because I know that this can cause curb rash, as I was leaving I heard it scrape against the curb. I am not pleased and even though they include a free rotation every 5000 miles I do not think I will be returning due to the wait and where my vehicle was left. read more
