Took the wife's car for engine light, got a quote to replace all spark plugs (car was at 65k miles) because one cylinder misfired and there was carbon buildup. Took the quote showed it to people close to me and was ensured the cost was of normal market and not above. It really is their kindness that added to it. Dolf is a very honest broker. It's an apparent when your car is serviced. He will mention everything wrong with the car and help you prioritize. For example, I took my car to the dealer, they told me I had a leak from the top of my engine (not head gasket and from the oil pan as well, my axles needed to be replaced(front right), they recommended both for balance or some poorly articulated reason and implied I could have a transmission issue as well, did not tell me about 3 codes I knew my engine was throwing ( I pulled them myself and didn't tell them) ... So, I took it to Stone Springs and gave them no information but a clicking noise coming from the front right upon turning. His technician identified the problem, replaced 1 axle, told me the leak needed a dye test (makes sense) but, pointed out that the oil pan was covered in oil dripping down from the top, struts could wait and my car is running fine. He has a steady flow of business and is not desperate, this affords any business the opportunity to provide effective service. Also, they are a truly healthy atmosphere, everyone seemed happy and calm. I don't mind spending the money if it comes from him. Finally found a shop I can trust. His service staff are remarkably talented and knowledgeable Latinos...enough said...they can fix anything. Epic service. read more

I have been going to Stone Springs Auto since 2019. They are so accommodating, kind, HONEST and fair. I trust them implicitly and would recommend them to all my neighbors, friends and family. My elderly mother recently moved here from Michigan and had to have the inspection completed. She has an older car so there were some things that had to be corrected in order to pass inspection. The cost of the repairs was SIGNIFICANTLY lower than other quotes I got and they went above and beyond with helping her fix some other items that she wanted done. They were so polite, warm, and respectful to my mom understanding her limitations, which made the whole experience personal and exceptional. The owner is rude, defensive, and righteous. He likes to play lord and tell you he's doing you a favor instead of taking accountability and doing his job. It took me having to get on a call with the owner after he kept my car with him for nearly a month and INSISTED that all I had to do was drive my car around, for him to finally run a proper diagnostic test and 'miraculously' he figured out the issue, ordered the special parts, and my emissions was completed. This is exactly what I have been looking for, an HONEST and reputable mechanic! I visited another local big name shop where I've been a customer for 5 years and was told that I needed a new battery. This was in addition to my oil change and other work that I've already had done. Thankfully, I came across this shop on my way back! Dolf was very friendly and promptly pulled my car in for inspection. He showed me the battery meter which clearly stated that my battery was still in the good range under load and did not need replacement. I appreciate that even though I came in requesting a new battery as recommended by the other shop, Dolf took the time to diagnose the issue to check and turned down the sale to do the right thing. I visited this new business on Saturday. I had my grandson sleeping in the car and when I mentioned that on the phone , Dolf immediately told me not to leave my car, he'd come to me for information on what I needed done. When my daughter arrived and we all chatted, Dolf shared family photos for which one showed a specific baby carrier. When my daughter asked about the carrier, within minutes Rolf had his wife FaceTime and answer questions about it. I have a 2012 Toyota Camry hybrid that I bought used from a dealership. The dealer sold me a warranty. Then last year in 2021 when I took the automobile back to the dealership for inspection tire rotation and change of oil it cost me $600. The dealer also said that I needed to replace a part that Works in the suspension. That was going to cost me $1,500 and I said no. This week when I brought my car into stone Springs Auto for inspection, tire rotation and oil change; I showed Paul the estimate from last year's experience. He couldn't believe the financial quote. He was going to do the inspection and check the suspension. He said the part in the suspension was slightly leaking but it would be able go for one more year before I replaced it. He did the inspection and gave me to the state a two-year renewal on my registration. The total was $160. Then the next day they made an appointment for me at 9:00 a.m. took me right away changed the oil and rotated the tires for $89. Girlfriend had an oil change here (as she normally does) and they said the oil pan gasket was leaking, gave her a quote for ~$2000 to fix. I nearly flipped out when she told me. I looked under the car - oil pan gasket dry as a bone. However, oil was dripping from the drain bolt. I checked the drain bolt and it was FINGER tight and I could loosen it. I retightened it to OEM spec torque, wiped everything dry and no leaks yet. They also told her that they 'topped off the oil' - Wait.... didn't they JUST do an oil change but a few mins earlier? Why are they 'topping off the oil' if they just changed it? Not sure I would trust these guys any more - you decide for your self. read more

Highly recommended! I've done most of my own car maintenance over the years but I'm getting too old for that s*it now. My car was making some front end noises and I was pretty sure it needed tie rods so I bought the parts on eBay and asked the owner, Dolf Arteaga, if he would install them for me and do an alignment. He said they couldn't use parts I had sourced because of liability reasons but gave me an estimate and we scheduled it for the next day. He found that it was the stabilizer links that needed to be replaced so I gave them the OK to proceed. The car was repaired for much less than the original estimate.
