Ashburn Service and Tire has serviced both of my cars--a Honda and a Subaru--for the past four years. During that time, I spent about $5,000 on repairs, inspections, oil changes, tires, and other maintenance. I had no complaints. However, two days ago, I paid $1,054 to replace and recharge the air conditioner condenser in my 12-year-old Subaru. That amount included a $230 diagnostic fee. I asked for that fee to be applied toward the repair, but I was told that Ashburn Service and Tire does not credit diagnostic charges toward repair costs. Shortly after I picked up my car, the shop asked me to bring it back so their mechanic could retrieve a tool he had supposedly left underneath it. When I returned, the mechanic took the car into the garage, opened the hood, and did something in the engine area that I could not see. As a result, I suspect the story about the tool was just a pretext to gain access to the car, possibly to make an adjustment or correct an error. I would not recommend Ashburn Service and Tire. read more

New to the area, first time there. Super friendly when I arrived. I called ahead to find out wait time. I arrived 5 minutes later. They said 3 hours for getting a new sticker and oil change. I had to call them at the 4hr mark for an update. My 3 hours turned into 5. A side from being off by 2 hours, everything else was great! read more

We take both our cars here for routine service. I've recently taken my SUV here for an odd repair. The team member came out to look at the issue and gave me some sound advice. They do care about their customers. They take appts and walk ins. I also bring my cars for inspections and emissions. Drop off is convenient. There's a small indoor waiting area. They are in the Giant shopping center convenient to plenty of eating establishments. read more

Mike and the team responded quickly to a request for same day service for four specialty tires. Although the price was higher than costco, they included balancing, disposal and a full tire alignment included in the price . Costco world have required at least a week to get the tires in and they don't include alignment, requiring a second trip to another shop. Mike even made sure the car was road ready for a long trip with no additional fee.,The car was ready early as well. definitely recommend. read more

Shopped around for quotes to change my brakes and rotors and decided on this place. There was a competitive price elsewhere so it boiled down to how I felt they treated their customers and their cars with care. They worked with me on getting only what I needed done and updated me when I needed a new battery during that visit and I didn't hesitate to agree. I didn't feel pressured like some places and since I am women that came in seeking help I didn't feel taking advantage or scammed. They were detailed about what was being done and the cost plus what to get done in the future! The visit didn't take too long as I didn't need an appointment. I called Ashburn Service & Tire Center on New Years Eve with a last minute request to get an emission test done on my car to renew my registration. Many auto shops stopped doing emissions test after noon and they thankful took me in. From the first initial phone call to them, to their in-person experience it was great. I took my daughter's car here this morning to get a tire plugged or replaced after finding a nail in it. They called me 20 minutes later to tell me they found and pulled the nail, double checked and it had not punctured the tire and it was safe. I picked up the car with no charge. They could have easily charged me for their time or even for plugging the tire and I would never have known. In this era, it's so nice to have a company like this who is honest and transparent even if it costs them money. I know this is a small thing, but I have constantly gotten great service from them for many years and this particular event finally pushed me to write a review that these guys definitely deserve. read more

Only needed inspection and emissions. They were very courteous. Since I needed to wait my turn, Leonard said they could provide a ride home for me and would call when the car was completed. When picking the car up, I mentioned that the air in my tires may be low, and he asked one of his coworkers to check it for me. That was above and beyond. read more

I took my car and my wife's car here for years, now I feel I cannot trust them. After charging my wife $95 for an oil change, they also noted that there was oil all over the engine. They also wanted to replace a bearing on our back wheel for over $400. There was no documentation or pictures for either. When I brought it to another mechanic that I trust, he said there was absolutely no evidence of an oil leak and there the bearings are fine (it has about 37k miles). The wheels and tires are in good working order with wheel locks in tact and the engine still has dust on it- with no signs ever of an oil leak. They also said they filled all fluids- and they clearly did not. I know that for many times are tough and inflation is out of control, but its sad to see a business that I once trusted act in such a manor. They wanted me to bring in the car after I called them questioning the recommended work, but I will never ever do business with them again. read more

I have had quality aftermarket lights on my Jeep since 2014 that have passed since initially installed. ECCC state inspector failed my vehicle for several aftermarket lights. This review is LONG overdue... When you are a senior citizen who rarely drives except to a 1-2 miles to a doctor's appt or the local Harris Teether, then finding a mechanic can be quite the challenge. Yelpers come to the rescue! My folks had an issue with their car, and the tow truck driver recommended a place about 10 miles away from my folks house. That did not fly with us because they couldn't get a ride back to pick up their car. Thanks to the few reviews written about Ashburn Service & Tire Center, we gambled on bringing their car here. AND. SO. GLAD. WE. DID... The staff is wonderful. They are truly a class act! They give you the nitty gritty of your vehicle's issues and quote you the price. They are true to their word when it comes to repair timeframe, and if you decide to call on progress, you get to speak with someone who is aware of your car's situation. They are located in the Giant grocery store shopping center. They advertise that they offer local pickup/ and drop off. We have not used that service but I'm sure they will oblige if needed. We have brought my folks car here for regular service, state inspections and big issues. read more

Oil changes and inspections: the two main reasons I bring my vehicle here. Most auto places have me on the defensive since it's hard to find honest mechanics. I remember my first time here being hesitant about them as they did an oil change for me and claimed there was a small oil leak. It wasn't severe but they said it should be repaired sooner rather than later. Thinking I was being swindled, I told them I wanted a second opinion. I took it to a mechanic in Leesburg and they took a look at the vehicle. The mechanic in Leesburg has been working on vehicles for my parents and I trusted their judgment. Sure enough, he said the same thing that Ashburn Service & Tire Center claimed: there was a small oil leak. Even though I decided to have it fixed in Leesburg, it let me know that I could trust this place in particular. That was back in 2014. I'm finally glad there's a reliable auto mechanic that is close to where I live and I don't have to drive all the way to Leesburg. I got my oil changed here a few weeks ago and it went smoothly. My only gripe is they didn't call me to tell me it was complete. I came back right before they closed and fortunately it was complete. I'll just call next time and double check. read more

I took my car here to get a CV boot replaced. After being fed up with the scams of another local chain I was really impressed with this place. Alex, the manager, took me back while my car was on the lift and spent time just letting me look for myself and talking through different things. The repair I was there for was done quickly and the price was outstanding. As I was paying the mechanic even came out to explain things even more. Couldn't be more impressed. Easily the worst mechanic I've ever been to. From tremendous upcharges to non-communicated delays to condescension (when asked why I was charged another $155 diagnostic fee, a gentleman said "I don't know if you understand what I'm saying, but..."), I now understand why no one I know brings their car here. They live off the convenience of their location as they're walkable for many. Unfortunately for them, and luckily for us, there are plenty of mechanics here. I calked before I came (2:30 pm on a Saturday) and they let me know one person was ahead of me to get an emissions check. Headed right over. Hit the timer once they got my car. 16 mins. 3:09pm and I'm done!! BEST EXPERIENCE with this annoying task! I bring my car here for oil changes too and have never had a problem. Very inconsistent with VA Safety inspections. Brought my car here and told me that my rear suspension needed work to pass as well as have my driver-side marker light bulb replaced since it is busted. Told them to go ahead and do the repair and replacement. After all work is done, one would assume it will now pass. Now they tell me my headlights (low-beam) are not DOT approved. What?!... Ok fine, brought the car home and changed bulbs to the factory ones. So brought it back so it can pass... OH wait, but there is more! Now they say my dimmer lights needs to be DOT approved too... also my rear plate lights! (Note that these are not blue lights, just regular white lights). These guys are not worth the stress. read more

I applaud the staff for their customer service yesterday. I punctured my tire with road debris and drove straight to this location for service. They took my car for observation within 5 minutes, and when they found I had 3 punctures in my tire, they put the spare tire on my car for free, and gave me excellent advice on how to proceed with my all-wheel drive vehicle's tire situation. I have been taking my car, a Ford Expedition since 2004 to Ashburn Service and Tire. The service has always been excellent. I took my car in June of 2021 and explained that I was driving to Florida. They rotated my tires, changed the oil and checked everything out. I was in Florida for two weeks and just returned home and my car had no problems whatsoever!!! We have taken several vehicles to AS&TC over the past five or six years. We had one hiccup where some paperwork was mixed up and they told me the oil in my vehicle had been changed when it hadn't. That was annoying, but they made it right. Several years later, when my husband was out of town on business and my daughter was very sick, my car desperately needed to go to the shop. I couldn't take my child to daycare and I didn't have a way home with her (carseat) after dropping the vehicle off for what would be a massive service. I asked AS&TC to come get the car from my house and they very kindly did so. They quickly emailed me and my husband an estimate, and even patiently went through the necessary repairs with each of us separately, as I was honestly too worried about a sick kid to follow it all. They finished the repairs ahead of schedule, allowed me to pay over the phone, and then drove my car back to the house for me. AS&TC's customer service in this situation made a really crappy week manageable for me. I will certainly remember that the next time my car is making a suspicious sound! read more

I've never had my car inspected here, but as another reviewer mentioned their inspectors apparently work off commission, which is super weak. Anyway, I've had to roll up to this place twice with a flat-ish tire- both times it was a gigantic nail causing all the heartburn, and both times they were able to get me in and out in under half an hour. The first time (earlier this year) they charged me 15 bucks to plug the tire, and last night when I came in sobbing because I thought I was going to have to drop a cool $250 to replace a tire (yeah, that's right, Subaru thought it was funny to put uber-expensive stock tires on its WRX'es); they informed me it was, alas! another nail, and plugged this tire for me-- FREE OF CHARGE. Now, I know free stuff is hard to come by these days (hello sample day at Costco!) so I was seriously impressed that they took the time to both (a) inspect, and (b) repair my poor tire for FREE. Now, call me old-fashioned but I'm a big fan of two things- one- free stuff, and two- honesty. I would consider going back there for other tire-related issues, probably not for mechanical stuff (that's why God created Dranesville Auto). read more

I bought some aftermarket wheels for my car, got too anxious and tried to install them myself with my buddy. I stopped by Ashburn Service & Tire Center one evening when my car wasn't riding well. Come to find out I ruined the studs and had to have them all replaced! I won't use names but when I initially called, one gentlemen was super helpful and even had me text him a picture of the lugs so he could try and diagnose the problem before I drove out there. He was unable to do so and I made a quick visit and the entire team was outstanding. They took it into the service area and had the issue diagnosed within 10 minutes. They quoted me for the repairs and were able to bring down the total price by finding great prices on the parts. I dropped it off the next morning and picked it up after work that same day. I brought a tire in because it was low on air. They took it, discovered the tire valve was leaky and replaced it for $16 bucks. I've also had the fan in my air conditioning/heating unit repaired here and the service was honest and fairly priced. I trust these guys and have learned my lesson (349 to get brake switches and light bulbs replaced elsewhere which cost MORE than the replacement of the AC/Heating unit in my car. yep. MORE.) and won't go anywhere else. read more

Been bringing vehicles to ASTC now known as ECCC for 15+ years now. This is THE BEST service center in the Ashburn area if not across the DMV. Waiting on my vehicle and overhear a young lady picking up her vehicle who was informed it failed inspection due to issues with missing lug nuts. She was very upset as she just spent over $300 at another service center to have rear brakes replaced. Evidently, they failed to replace all the lug nuts. I was SUPER IMPRESSED with how they explained the issue to her in a very tactful manner simply stating if they had noticed during brake replacement, they would have mentioned it to her then. Very PROFESSIONAL customer service at ECCC. Reminder of why I always bring my vehicles here! read more
