Where to start? From the beginning would be a good idea. I have had several issues with AAA Auto Service. 1. My Expedition needed new tires. Fine. Had AAA order them, and install. When I went to pick up the vehicle I notice a $200 charge for "tire insurance." When I questioned the line item I was told that I had agreed to the service. I had not. The service adviser then challenged my comment stating that I had signed the agreement. Yes, my initials were on the order, but at no time was I asked if I wanted "tire insurance" for new tires. I got into an argument with the service adviser when asking for a credit. Finally, he relented and a credit was issued. Point here: never, ever argue with a customer. 2. Took the Expedition in earlier this week for a state inspection actually believing that it would fail due to possibly needing new brake pads and rotors. Amazingly enough it passed. The next issue follows the inspection. 3. Even before taking the Expedition inspection I noticed a slight vibration through the steering wheel. This persisted even after the "inspection" by AAA Auto. So, I decided to take the vehicle to local shop to chase down the cause. Here are the results: a. all the wheels were out of balance. b. the lug nuts on one wheel were stripped on the outside so if I had a flat there would be no way for me to remove the lug nuts much less the tire. The folks at AAA Auto strike again. c. all the brake pads and rotors were toast. Therefore, they needed replacement. So why did the Expedition pass state inspection? Was AAA Auto hoping that I would notice increased vibration and return so they could do the brake work? I have no idea. Fortunately the work was done by a very reputable local shop. Bottom line: DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO AAA AUTO. EVER!! I certainly won't. read more

Agreed to 7:30am appointment time. Vehicle was taken in at 8:22am. When I asked for an explanation for the delay was told that the tech does not arrive until 8:15am. Asked why appointment was set up for 7:30 - answer "I don't control the online scheduling ". The appointment was made by phone with a direct call to the service center. No apology, no sense that it mattered -- no customer care here. read more

If you have expensive rims do not get any tire service done there, they have outdated equipment and damaged my rims to my truck back in December and have been giving me the run around about repairing them. read more

If you check the reviews for this business all the old reviews are good and the recent ones are not. This business was bought by AAA in the past year. Since then, they've lost some of their best technicians. Now the business runs not smoothly. They can never meet the time estimates they give you. I needed my brakes fixed, I made the appointment a week in advance. In the day of the appointment, while I was waiting for the repair, they told me they didn't have the necessary parts. They had to send someone to Leesburg to purchase the part. What was supposed to take a couple of hours took most of my day. Also their prices are expensive. I hope they can hire some competent technicians, and be more responsive to their customer needs in a timely fashion. read more

They can care less about what you need or want. This place needs major help in customer service. Its been a long time since I've seen crap customer service like what I experienced for a simple VA inspection. Asking for a inspection at 10am and being told the inspector is getting ready to take his lunch break. I replied what time does he take lunch. They replied 1pm. He is a very busy man. The shell station in purcellville did my inspection in 20 minutes. In there eyes, there running the show. Not you. There thoughts, you need us more than we need you. Unbelievable. read more

Very rude staff & front desk employees. Act as if they don't want to be there, and they don't want you there either... Then will overcharge you for simple services. Both AAA places in Purcellville used to have different owners--I would prefer the previous kind & friendly guys over these hillbillies!!! read more

They did an excellent job on changing my front compact tractor tire. The tire had gotten a sidewall puncture. No one else wanted to touch it. Sarah was very helpful and responsive. read more

This place was very expensive and way over priced compared to other shops in the area. Simple work like replacing brake pads and rotors on an average vehicle was estimated way over $1K. I would not recommend this place unless you have money to burn. read more

We have been going to Purcellville Tire and Auto for about 15 years. They have always been honest and have done great work on our cars and truck. I have had a few incidences with driving my horse trailer around and they are great about fixing my tires. They really take care of their regular customers. read more

You have one job- tires. You did not tighten my lug nuts. I can no longer trust this place and will not be taking my vehicle there ever again. I was a long time customer. When I called to make an appointment for two new tires, I was surprised at the lack of friendliness of the front desk. Almost rude and belittling. I got my tires the Wednesday before thanksgiving. Thankfully I did no traveling! A squeaking, squeal began but I assumed it would settle. A week later there began a terrible squeal and then banging by the time I got to town. I happened to be going by my mechanic's, so I pulled in and called for a ride to work. It sounded like my tire was going to fall off. My mechanic called me. My tire was going to fall off. The lug nuts had not been tightened. I'm so thankful I wasn't going 60 on route 7 rush hour when my tire fell off my car. How dangerous, scary! People would have been hurt, along with damage to vehicles. I don't know if ownership has changed or a bad hire or what.... but I can't ever go back there again. Tighten. The. Lug. Nuts. read more

We've been going to Purcellville Tire for over a decade and have wondered a few times if we were getting hosed... BUT, now I'm pretty sure we did. Over $100 to replace a fog lightbulb at Purcellville Tire and Auto. Bulb was special order so it was $29 (which they quoted me, so ok)...but, 70 to put it in (that they did not mention). That seems ridiculously high. Wish I had known, BUT, since they only quoted me the price for the bulb and "normally around 20 for installation" I had them do it, guess I should have asked for the installation for my specific car before I had them do it. Time to find someplace else to go. read more

My wife's car had a front tire which suddenly wouldn't hold air. I'd just gotten out of the hospital but knowing that this problem needed to be fixed quickly, I called Purcellville Tire and Auto. Adam took my call, had me bring it in and got my car assessed within 10 minutes. In the shop, Will noted that there wasn't a hole--but kept at it until he found the problem and applied the solution. The cost was very modest--especially given Will's time and diligence. I know where I'll be buying tires from now on! read more

While working on an old 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser, I came across a hardline for the front right brake caliper that had ruptured due to rust. After searching online for an OEM part I discovered that the part I needed had been discontinued. I called Purcellville Tire and Auto to see if they had the ability to make me the part. Not only did they make me the part, but it was an absolutely perfect duplicate of the part I needed. I came in at lunch time and was informed they were incredibly busy, so no guarantee the part would be done soon. Less than 3 hours after l dropped the part off, I received a call saying the part was finished and ready for pick up. I worked with Paula to get the estimate and Donnie made the part. The pricing and genuine customer service I received from them was truly second to none. The part ended up being cheaper to make than I was initially told as well. I had heard amazing things about the shop before visiting and was certainly not disappointed with the experience! Fantastic work guys! read more

I have been taking my cars to Purcellville Tire and Auto Service ever since I moved here 7 years ago. I have always experienced nothing but professional and friendly service from the ladies at the front desk. They always try to accommodate me no matter what the situation is. For example; I noticed a nail in my left front tire in the morning so I took it over to Purcellville Tire & Auto right away. I was leaving on a long trip the next day and I didn't want to risk driving on it. After explaining to them my predicament the service tech came out right away, pulled the nail out, and I was pleasantly surprised the nail didn't go all the way through. They were extremely busy that day, but they took the time to see if they could help me. Customer service is paramount to happy repeat customers and I'm a big fan of the service Purcellville Tire & Auto exhibits every time I show up. read more

My first experience with Purcellville Tire & Auto was when I first moved to town and needed to get my car inspected. The woman behind the counter was very rude and told me I'd have to wait hours since I didn't make an appointment. I decided to try again this past week when my car was having trouble and I needed to have it towed. I had it brought to Purcellville Tire and Auto and although the woman behind the counter was much nicer, they didn't do much to help me. They told me my car needed to be towed to the dealer and wouldn't provide much more information. I called Bridges down the street because they also tow. They had the car towed to their location, diagnosed the problem and are fixing it. I understand that Purcellville Tire & Auto may be busy, but they didn't take any time to find out what was really wrong with my car. They just off loaded it. From now on, Bridges will have my business. read more
