This office is great. I'm usually in and out in no time. But this review is based on the company itself. During the summer of 2020 my family and I went to Santa Monica and my car stalled. My husband contacted AAA and explained the situation. The guy they sent says it's the battery. I've asked if we can purchase a battery and he says AAA doesn't sell batteries. I've had AAA for about 20 years and purchased plenty of batteries from whomever they've sent. He jumped started my car but that didn't last long about time we reached the corner the car stopped. I contacted AAA again they stated they would be able to tow my car but due to COVID only my car. My husband took an Uber to the nearest auto parts and installed the battery himself. This was absolutely a waste time. And this is why I have decided to cut ties with this company. BTW-We had masks so there was no reason whatsoever to tow only the car. read more

This morning I walked into the AAA office in Whittier and was told that the DMV system was down. I was told that I wasn't going to be able to do a transfer of ownership. I also had to take a passport picture and was directed to Sabrina Toston who is a Senior Travel Advisor. Sabrina was very friendly and helpful, I was impressed with her professionalism. She also gave me great traveling information tips. I told her that I needed to return on another day to complete my other errand there. Sabrina told me she would check in and see if the system was back up. She gave me great news and said she would put my name back in the cue and I would be called to a different desk shortly. I didn't catch the name of the nice woman who greeted me at the front desk when I arrived, but she was also very nice & helpful. I had a great experience today at AAA. Thank you . read more

Went in on Friday to meet with a travel agent, talked with Mona who absolutely could not answer any of my questions or concerns about the flights and lay overs. Wanted me to book a flight leaving at 6am arriving at 1:30 am the following day. Because it was the cheapest all though that was not my concern, when I asked about the rental car I would be needing she then said well they don't open until I think 9am so from 1:30 am to 9 am when they open you would need to wait at the airport.. I get it... we all have bad days at work. But when you're in customer service--the first person we see and talk to when we enter the doors to AAA, you need to be welcoming and nice. Heck! We pay to be members! We have to wait for your AAA services. We don't need your bullshit. The lady was not nice in her tone of voice, nor did she smile at any guests, myself and those ahead of me. Believe me when I say anyone could call & get insurance in under 45 mins! My husband does everything for me, Unfortunately he was slacking on insurance for the car, I called myself, & trust me when I say I don't know how to do anything . Called to have my father-in-laws home insurance changed to AAA. Took several days for Travis Averill to get back to me. After submitting the request, the underwriters denied home insurance because the home was adjacent to The Probation Training Center (the old Obregon Middle School in Pico Rivera. Understood, but I had a few questions. I texted and called him several times and he simply blew me off. No call back or text. Makes you wonder what his reply would've been if I was a customer with an insurance claim.Travis Averill is not professional and should not be trusted with anyone's insurance needs as an agent. AAA automobile club of Southern California is unreliable. I got off a 12 hr shift discovered I had a flat tire so I call AAA the lady told me she's putting in the request for assistance I waited for the time and called the assistant the second time when the request didn't show up, this AAA representative told me the tow company that the first representative sent was closed and had closed at 5pm, I initially called AAA at 8:15 pm. It's been an hour now. Anyway the second representative placed me on hold for about 15 minutes then told me that he was unable to provide me any service because NO service was available in the area (Rosemead, Ca) well I drove off very disappointed once again and the service of AAA representative and how they deal with customers with emergency issues. Anyway, I'm driving to the nearest gas station and I get a call from an unfamiliar number it's this woman who works for AAA she said she just saw me driving down the street on Rosemead Blvd on a flat tire and called into AAA (her job) to help assist me when she arrived to the gas station where I went to get "fix a flat" she ask for my ID then ask if I was complaining and had an attitude with the AAA representative? I'm like No, I didn't but I did explain to her that I have called AAA a few other times (twice) and I didn't get the service expected and how I really needed her to do something to help me, and I didn't want to wait hours for assistance... the lady responded well you shouldn't have said that because they told me NOT to help you . I'm like WHAT why would they do that to me I'm stuck with a flat it's raining and I just finished working a 12 hr shift My GOD people are cold and heartless at AAA you'd tell other representatives not to help a customer in need during an emergency situation and I've been a member for well over 10yrs. So the renewal for my AAA came in and I was hesitant to renew. I've been working from home and not driving anywhere, so it made no sense to renew. However, I forgot how much more you get from being a card carrying member. I was really stressed out over having to go to the DMV and deal with some registration issues. Getting up early, dealing with the angry DMV staff, I was not about it. Then my wife told me that AAA has DMV services and I headed in. Let me tell you how nice the staff was from the person checking me in to the person who helped me with my registration. There was another issue that was causing me to not get renewal notices from the dealership that bought my previous car. Someone got Michelle Coyle to help me out and let me tell you, she went above and beyond to make sure I had everything fixed. She told me what happened, explained what we needed to do to fix it. We got it settled it up and I got everything fixed in like 20 minutes. At the actual DMV, I'd pay all these fee's, sign all this paperwork, ask for help on the matter get told to fix it at home, then deal with attitude. Nope to the nope. I love this place and will renew again when it's time. You get peace of mind and convenience with a AAA membership. read more

I had the occasion to need DMV services to have a lost placard replaced. I used Google to find out what documents I would need in order to obtain a replacement. Since I didn't want to go near a DMV office, I searched online and found out that AAA could handle this. As it was, my options were to go to a AAA office or mail in the needed forms to DMV and wait a few weeks for the replacement to come. I decided to give AAA a try first thing Saturday morning. They were open at 8 am, so I made sure to get there right when they opened. I got there shortly after 8 am to find there were a few other people already waiting. I printed out and filled in what I thought was the necessary forms to get this done and brought it with me. After only waiting a few minutes, I was called by a representative to be helped. I handed her the paperwork and she told me that the form was not the correct one for a replacement. She promptly handed me the correct form to fill out and once filled out, she processed it for me. Within 5 minutes, I was done and on my way home. I'm sure glad I decided to use AAA services. They were quite attentive and knowledgable and surely saved me a lot of time. read more

The AAA Agent named George Zamora at the AAA Whittier office is probably the laziest AAA Agent I have come across. He wants me to fill out all the forms without him lifting a finger and then after all of that, he wants me to contact the out-of-state DMV myself to get a title information. Mind you I was at the AAA office in West Covina where the lady was willing to assist with the forms except I had to abort the application because I forgot one other document to register the car. Anyway, I decided to go to the DMV office in person where they took care of my registration. Be aware that AAA doesn't have access to all DMV information or this guy George Zamora is just lazy or doesn't have the know-how or training to look up DMV information. What a waste of time. Maybe after 46 years of paying AAA, it's about time to cancel my membership. read more

I pay you AAA a membership fee that every year. I don't pay your 2 bit contractors that you hire. I'm your customer before you just pass me on and think that your contractors are truly handling your business the way you would do your business . Your so wrong. I have to put a star . Horrible 3 years with AAA home, auto and life insurance. Both of my houses lost home insurance without proper notification and without any explanation. They took a week to fix their issue, so i had no home insurance for that period. In an auto claim they did not properly defend me, which led to my insurance costs to increase. AAA is an expensive insurance, I expected better support and quality for the price. I have switched insurance and have not had any such issues since. read more

Ended up purchasing my insurance at a different auto company due to how rude the agent was towards me. Was really upset with my experience at the Whittier location this past Saturday. Had purchased a new vehicle and was looking to get a quote for auto insurance for myself. When checking in, my husband had checked in with his AAA card (I have my own, but he beat me to the punch to get it scanned) so when we met with the agent without any questions she automatically started looking for a quote for him rather than asking who it was for. Her desk has the clear shield and She was wearing a mask and gloves due to COVID, which I have no problem with. However, my frustration started when she knew I was having a hard time hearing her (I'm hard of hearing) due to shield and her mask and yet she still kept talking to me in a very low volume. I felt like she was in a rush and didn't really want to service us and that wasn't the experience we were expecting given that we have never had any issues before. I have been a member for 29 years. My car's check engine light went on, and I pulled off of the freeway. I called roadside service advising them I was at a rest stop, and there were two woman in the car. It was getting dark. The soonest they could come was 2 hrs! I supposedly have Premier Service. AAA Is by far the best way to deal with car registration problems. I went in this morning with a huge problem ( I did not receive or pay my registration for 2 years) . George and Jennifer walked me through the process of what I needed to do and I left with an answer to my problem. Something the DMV website was unable to do. I actually never noticed that Whittier had an AAA store. I was trying to buy the freeway tole transponder and when I arrived and waited for a few minutes. They told me that they ran out and they weren't sure when they will be getting a next batch of them. She suggested us to go to the Fullerton location which actually did have them in stock and said they do have plenty of them in the store. I picked up four and they worked fine for us! I like the building for this Whittier location but I think they should follow Fullerton's idea in stalking up on products that seem to be getting bought up by customers. read more

I was a witness to an accident and this insurance called me and left a voicemail saying they would like to take my statement so I called back and left a voicemail nobody had gotten back to me it's been two months and have left a few voicemails and no one has returned my call!!! Good overall experience.. So I have my tags stolen off my truck, and think, crap, DMV.. oh how I hate dealing with the DMV. As I was telling my story to my friend at work, she suggested, "go to AAA, they do that there, and no lines", and " im like what?", and she's like "ya", im like "cool"... So I found the one closest to work and I went. The place is on the outskirts of whitter, but a nice decent size place. Very clean and organized. I lined up at 9:15 am on the west side of building in the shade. It was a real hot day today. The staff came at 9:45 am and moved our line to the east side of the building. I was in direct sun and it was really hot. I was in line with 20 or more members in the direct sun and it was really miserable. I did not understand why the staff did not leave us on the shade side of the building. They did. not offer any small water bottles and did not use common sense in this matter. The workers were all in a Cool AC building with bottle water with no thought of the members. I could not believe what I witness today and I left with a really bad headache from the hot sun baking on my head like heat stroke. I've been in drive-thrus that took longer than it took me to park, get out my car, get to reception, go to the waiting area in the back, didn't even get a chance to sit down because the lady was waiting for me, gave her my papers and she gave me my tags. I swear that what it took for me to write this was about as fast as I was out of there. It is also the only AAA I've been to that is open at 8am on a Saturday. This location has made me want to cancel my membership completely. They have had me running up and down to get my license plate tags renewed and when I finally get all their dumb requests situated, they take my debit card to renew my membership but would not accept my debit card for my tag renewal. When I asked why they took it for their membership but not for my tags they simply said "we just don't". They sent me to a Wells Fargo atm and when I got there it wasn't even working. They have wasted all this time with me and my tags are STILL NOT RENEWED! Now I need to go back AGAIN just to pay cash and finally have my tags renewed. This place has you jump through hoops for absolutely no reason it's ridiculous. Never recommending triple A to anyone ever again. Just get the towing from your insurance company cuz this definitely ain't worth it. I would have so much rather spent a whole day at the DMV than go through their circus acts. Always a great experience especially for the DMV service. Started the process of transferring a title online due to Covid and as usual the DMV offices never got back to me and when they did email me back it was too late the case had closed i was furious . Finally when AAA opened its doors again for the DMV i waited in line with my mask and sanitizer in hand and they helped me right away i maybe waited 20 min if that and the person Jessica who helped me was friendly and patient with me when asking my questions, unfortunately i did not have the proper documentation i need (duh me) so she told me to fill it out and bring it back and she'll take me right away so i don't have to wait in Line .. and just like that (poof) the paperwork was filed and out for processing YAY!!!!!!!!!!! read more
