My 10 year old granddaughter had an AWFUL experience at Aabani Salon. She was excited to have her first professional haircut, but it was far from professional. Despite Aabani Salon's intention as quoted on their website to make clients feel "seen & valued ", they drastically revised the original quote of $52 for shampoo, conditioner, cut & style to $160 , simply because her thick frizzy curly hair required extra effort. This left my granddaughter feeling embarrassed and humiliated. I refused and we left. What should have been a memorable first haircut experience turned into a painful, excessive upsell. As a longtime Aveda customer, I felt abused and lied to, and the managers handling was unhelpful. We went to a nearby non-Aveda salon in the community, where a true professional welcomed my granddaughter, treated her with care & respect, and gave her a beautiful haircut for only $35. She felt like a princess! Aabani clearly prioritized their bottom line over a little girl's feelings. Clients deserve better than to be treated like an ATM. read more

I was in previous and wasn't satisfied with the price quoted and actual price paid. The owner did reach out to me and explained what happened and asked if I'd come back and she would make it right. She kept her word. The first time I got my hair done by Carolyn and like I said before, she does amazing work. Got color and a cut. Loved it so much! This second visit I had Macy. She made me feel very comfortable and also did amazing work. I got color retouched and conditioned. My hair feels and looks great! This salon has some of the best stylists in the area. They offer so many services to make you feel terrific and look beautiful. And the owner is very honest and cares about their clients. You need to make an appointment. You will be amazed! read more

I have lived in Weaverville for a couple of years, but just decided to try Aabani Salon for the first time. Shame on me, as my experience was by far beyond expectations. Although I decided on a seemingly simple trim, I received a superb experience in that Kristi not only expertly cut my hair to perfection as I had clumsily instructed, but also I received an exceptional overall experience in its simplicity and precision cut. She could have simply whisked me out with an acceptable trim, but without looking forward to capturing future business, gave me a (dare I repeat) a precision cut. I never paid $150 for getting my hair colored before there at Aabani. Why today?? No one told me it would be an additional $50 more than normal!.... and then their new thing is sequestering you to the back of the salon like a second class citizen to sit on some tiny chair after the dye is applied and told to take all my belongings with no place to put my handbag except on the floor!! The girl that dyed my hair was double booked so some hair washing girl then washed the dye out of my hair. No place to put anything sequestered to the back sitting in some tiny chair with all my things on my lap!! The next best thing was for me to put my magazines on top of the waste basket the put my LV handbag on top of that! I asked for a tea and got a Dixie cup full with no where to set it down. Awful!! Then when I was done my white jacket had been thrown in a ball on the counter where they do hair dye mixing. It's now got three black smudges on it! The ONLY good experience was Carolyn who does an amazing job cutting and blow drying my hair. Excellent! read more

First time there, so I'm basing my comments on initial visit, though I plan on returning. The place was clean, well run, and customer-based and friendly. They were on time. My stylist gave me good advice on toning down my brassy color, and followed through well. I believe I got a great hair cut, but won't know for a couple of weeks when my thick hair starts growing out. I'll post another review in a month, but definitely try this salon out. I suspect that all their stylists are good. BUT....their credit card system does not accept tips which seem very odd to me, as I've never encountered that before. So, had to find cash in my wallet. Did I get accurate information? I was early for the appointment. It was light and welcoming in the waiting area. Tea and water was offered. Marissa came to greet me 5 minutes prior to the appointment time. She offered me beverages again. The main work area is rather small in comparison to the waiting area, but everyone was able to get enough space somehow. The consultation with her was good. I gave her total control and said, I wanted it short. Marissa gave me a complimentary head shoulder massage, which I would have enjoyed more if it had not been for my injuries. Marissa is a sweet girl, pleasant and very attentive. My haircut was shorter than I had anticipated. My fault! I gave her total control! However, the haircut is very good. The layers are skilled and the cut flows with my natural hair characteristics. Beautiful job! I will see Marissa again. read more

I have been a regular at Aabani for almost a year now. Brandi is my stylist, but I have been pleased with everyone I've worked with. As a Weaverville resident, I appreciate that the ownership is so involved in keeping the downtown Weaverville community vibrant and unique. The salon has improved Weaverville as a town but also offers great services and a talented staff. If I had to improve anything it would be that the they would expand to include more spa services. However, I not only have not a single complaint, i only glowingly praise Aabani, Brandi and the rest of the staff. I'm salon-shy, not a chit chatty person and hadn't cut my hair in almost two years. I've gotten a lot of scolding in the past from stylists for my bad home dye jobs and damaged ends, but Alina never made me feel badly about myself. She was open and bantered with me, but wasn't overly personal or chatty, which was really refreshing. General atmosphere in the salon was laid back and professional, with a wide range of clients (both men & women from 20-70)- definitely not the pretentious vibe that often comes with a higher end salon. I sent a friend to this salon after seeing it was rated as a top 200 USA salon. I am so embarrassed that I did this as her hair is worse than she went in. She has superfine hair. Limp. I told her to be honest that she won't do anything but dry it. She did. They put three products in her hair and she said it looked fine when she left - but by the time she got home it looked as though she had nothing done. What a waste of money, time and breath. This salon is wonderful. I have been on a LONG search for a good salon and I have finally found it! When you walk in, the salon is clean and full of great aveda products. You are greeted with a smile and some warm tea to relax with as you wait, which is not long because my stylist was ready for me. I went in there needing some help. My hair had been messed up by a different salon and was in desperate need of a fix. Jennie was my stylist and she was wonderful and went straight to work recreating me with great color and a fantastic cut. I am so happy to have found them! Do not go here. They carry Aveda, yet do not know how to recommend any other hair care questions. It's just about making the bucks. Example: if I worked at Ikea, I would still be familiar with my competitors and why they are better/worse. Moving on, my stylist was 15 minutes late. On TWO occasions, therefore making me late for what I had to do that day. I had to come back to get my cut because she "didn't" have time. I would have not went back, but I desperately needed a cut! She advised me on what we would do, which she didn't seem to understand what I was asking for (which was BASIC), even with pictures shown, then I was charged for something different. She hacked my bangs and I just wanted to get out of there. I have been going to Aveda salons for years, this one I won't EVER EVER go back to. AND to boot, the owner, while was I was waiting, 15 minutes for my stylist, was telling another client on the phone why THEY were charged the wrong price.
