Our deck built by Bob, during the framing process.

Posted pics of our deck. Bob did a great job was on time, communicated and finished before he said he would. Thanks Bob! We're recommending you in the future!

From my previous review you know that Bob Gove built a cedar deck for me 4 years ago. The deck has held up so well that I engaged Bob to build a cedar torii gate and stairs for a new hot tub. Bob is a pleasure to work with, has good ideas, knows how to calculate how much material is needed, shows up when he says he will and gets the job done on time. The end result of his work is perfect! The toughest part of getting something done the way you want it, is communicating the vision. For that you need a good listener, who asks questions and responds. Bob is that guy. I would recommend Bob anytime for exterior carpentry.

Bob was great. Highly recommend his work. He turned the back of our house from a dirt lot into a beautiful deck in a very short time. The amazing thing is he does it all solo, very few breaks or excuses, and delivers a gorgeous result.

I purchased a home in Mission Beach that I was fixed up to sell. I was debating on a front deck or pavers...but really felt a deck would look and be the best use. I spoke with a couple deck companies I found on yelp and I am so glad I found Bob (he was my third call). After speaking with Bob and meeting him for an estimate, I knew he was the man for the job. He was extremely knowledgable, professional and gave me ideas and suggestions...and was the most reasonably priced to top it off. The deck was done in the time frame he promised and came out even more beautiful than I would have guessed. I am attaching pictures. Thanks SO much Bob....I plan on referring you to anyone I know that needs a deck built.

We hired Bob to help design and build a new deck in our front yard. Bob pays serious attention to detail. He did an excellent job.

Bob built our front fences in 2012. We were and still are, 100% pleased with his work. I'm calling him again 2017, to adjust our gate.

Bob came in, gave me an estimate lower than a few others I had received, and took care of it a few days later.

I finally had it replaced last April 2025 by Skyline Patio and Sunrooms with an insulated cover. One year later, it has passed the test through hot weather, rain and wind. No more frying eggs on the concrete floor! I was very very happy with the service I received from this company. Joe, the manager, and Rick design rep, Darrin construction manager, Andrea production coordinator, Dianna sales coordinator, and others that came to do the work on site, were all professional and a real blessing in getting my new patio cover designed and put together with the features I wanted. The crew that worked on site demonstrated much care and passion in the work they did. The crew took time to answer my questions and even made a video on my phone so I could remember how the wiring was done for my patio light and fan. I have gutters on each side and also had outlets put in. Today the temperature in my backyard in the sun is 102°F. In the shade of my Avocado tree the temp is 96°F. The ambient temperature under my insulated patio cover is 84°F!! That's an 18 degree difference! The company responded quickly to my initial call and once material was in, had the work completed within 2 days. They took down and removed the old cover, prepped the areas needed, and cleaned up afterwards. Out of all the companies I met with, Skyline Sunrooms came out as my top choice. I highly recommend Skyline Patio and Sunrooms to anyone. They have a cute little showroom, too!

Steve, the co-owner, was most patient and thorough in accommodating our needs, including drainage and lighting, and helping us think through the design and materials. The price was reasonable. JD, the project manager, was great, keeping us abreast of what was going on as the project proceeded. The crew--Jesse and Randal, Robert and Anthony--were likewise a pleasure to work with. The end product is a pleasure to look at, eliciting many positive comments from neighbors and thumbs-up from passers by.

This review concerns only my experience with Pacific Patio's bidding process. The proposal I received did not include any meaningful detail about the materials that would be used. When I asked specific questions--such as whether the support posts would be steel or aluminum--the salesperson refused to answer. Instead, he responded sarcastically, "Do you want me to tell you what kind of bolts we're going to use?" My answer is yes. The materials matter. The type of bolts, fasteners, posts, and other structural components affects the durability and safety of the finished product. Lower-quality hardware may perform differently under wind loads and over time, so it's reasonable for a customer to know what is being proposed. I repeatedly asked for a list of the materials that would be used, but the salesperson would not provide one. Without that information, I had no meaningful way to compare Pacific Patio's proposal with competing bids. Just as importantly, I would have had no clear basis for holding the contractor accountable if different materials were substituted during the project. The salesperson also became increasingly dismissive as I continued asking for this information. That lack of transparency and professionalism led me to award the project--worth approximately $100,000--to another contractor. I'm sharing this experience so that prospective customers know to ask for a detailed written description of the materials included in any proposal before making a decision.

Response to owner's reply: To clarify for future readers,…read morewe were given multiple different explanations throughout this process regarding the materials. At one point, we were told the materials were being held at a warehouse due to financial issues unrelated to our project. Additionally, in the signed refund agreement, we were explicitly told we would receive a refund regardless of whether the manufacturer provided a refund to the company. Even after formal remedies were initiated, there were still opportunities to resolve this matter directly. Full materials were ever delivered to our home, and the patio cover was never completed. Our review reflects our direct experience based on those facts. Original Review: Working with this company was the most stressful experience we've had with a home project. We paid a significant upfront amount for materials and the initial demo and cement work for a patio in July 2025. The demo and cement were completed, but the materials we paid for were never delivered and the patio was left unfinished. After taking our payment for materials, the owner failed to provide them. Despite repeated attempts to get updates and resolve the issue, communication became inconsistent. He offered a refund, but that was never delivered either. We were ultimately forced to pursue formal remedies to try to recover our money and are still dealing with this as of March 2026. Avoid this company. It is not worth the stress, time, or financial risk.
