My son got his first vehicle...a used truck for his 18th birthday. It is a huge Ford F-250 with quite a few miles on it. After about 6 weeks of owning the truck, it started to run rough. We decided to stop by this location since it was just a few blocks from our home in order to have it diagnosed. We were so lucky to have met Glen! He was super friendly and did a diagnosis for us immediately. He explained exactly what needed to be done with the truck and exactly how much it would cost . He was very kind and patient and asked if we wanted to proceed. We agreed. Glen had the truck done and ready for us to pick up exactly when he promised... And here's the best part... He was so kind and did all kinds of extras for my son without charging him! That really meant so much! My son, being on a very tight budget, was so grateful. The truck is running like brand new and we are so thankful that we met Glen. We totally recommend him and are so happy to have met an honest, kind man like him.

HT Transmissions I…read morecannot say enough wonderful things about HT Transmissions Repair and Pedro. Bought a used car in November 2025, 5 weeks later, P0741 torque converter code, flashing D while driving. Between a shitty 90 day warranty and 1000.00 out of pocket expense, had a new torque converter for a grand total of 2600.00, that was reduced to 2300.00 and a 90 day warranty. 102 days, yes 12 days after warranty was over. When my transmission completely failed, 102 days after having it fixed, I was beside myself. I live 3 hours from L.A. and travel there often. I also live on a fixed income. In other words, now I had a car 87 miles from where I live, and 130 miles from HT Transmissions Repair. and no savings to speak of , to fix it...blah blah blah. I was quoted by RPM Motorcars, Sherman Oaks, same shop who put the torque converter in to begin with, but another shop was going to do the work....yes, cannot make this shit up. 6800.00 retail, but reduced to RPMS cost of 4500.00. 24 months /24,000 warranty. Or options 2 a used transmission with 49,000 miles, for 2200.00. And another 700.00 to install it. But said, not recommended. But would not put 24 months/24,000 in writing. Now, call me crazy.... I would have much preferred options to begin with it. I already researched this time cost of rebuilt transmissions, used transmissions and even remanufactured transmissions. I could have bought a new transmission for 6800.00 I had already been quoted 4500.00 from a shop in Ridgecrest. That is the average, higher rebuild cost. Then I really researched and found HT Transmissions on Fulton, North Hollywood. He's been in business for 31 years and has great reviews. From the beginning, Pedro was honest, patient and took the time to explain everything without trying to upsell or gouge me. Pedro and his crew, yes he has a ten man crew not only did a complete rebuild, he did it for 2800.00 saving me thousands of dollars. 12 months/12,000 miles. HT and Pedro took an incredible, financially stressful situation and turned it into something I could actually afford. My car runs beautifully and I have a peace of mind knowing I can travel, make my long commutes safely. Pedro and his crew not only take tremendous pride in their work. A couple of days after being fixed I noticed a rather large leak under my car, shocked.....called Pedro let him know what happened, that I needed to return home the next day..... He sent two of his guys to pick my car up, fixed it (it was just a loose clamp) free of charge. That's service So, if you're looking an honest, knowledgeable, fair transmission repair shop....look no further than PEDRO and his crew at HT TRANSMISSIONS REPAIR at 7325 Fulton Ave., North Hollywood, CA. 91605 818-982-1212 Thank you again Pedro for your integrity and your incredible work. The turn around was little less than a week. The video updates he sent is what makes him an honest mechanic as he gave me a step by step to what he is going to do. CHOOSE THIS SHOP FOR YOUR TRANSMISSION NEEDS! If you're reading this review your transmission most…read morelikely went out and you need to rebuild it. So sorry about the terrible news. You're probably even thinking about buying a new car since transmission replacement is an expensive repair that most likely costs more than the car is worth. My advice...save money in the long run (especially with the tariffs currently being imposed world wide) and get your transmission repaired. You can save the extra money for a rainy day or for other things. My 2012 Kia Sorento has over 211,000 miles on it and the transmission finally wore out. The gears were slipping and there was no power when I stepped down on the pedal. I called around to two other local shops before calling Arminco. Both places were WAY more expensive than Arminco and said they would need more time to repair my car (one shop said they needed a month and the other shop said that they needed a week and a half to rebuild the transmission). When I called Arminco and spoke to Serj, his price was more fair and his estimated time was shorter (he said he would have my car back to me in a week). After reading all of the positive reviews online I decided to have Arminco do repair the repair on my transmission. When I arrived at Arminco Serj took my car on a test drive while he explained what was happening with my gears. Serj explained that he works on a lot of Mercedes and BMW vehicles. After dropping my car off it was ready in 4 days instead of a week. Raymond also informed me that my axel needed to be replaced. When I picked up my car it ran perfectly! Serj provides a warranty for the first 12,000 miles or 1 year (whichever comes first). Thank you Arminco for repairing my Sorento so quickly; it feels great to be back on the road!

Found this shop thru Yelp and SUPER happy I did!…read more My car was diagnosed by a local mechanic to have a faulty transmission. I took my car in and the owner Joe was extremely helpful, honest and really knows his stuff! He explained to me the different possible scenarios and involved me in every step of his diagnostic. (I even went with him on his test drive! Super smart dude!) My car ended up not having a transmission issue but rather a engine misfire, caused by a faulty gasket. After being misdiagnosed, any dishonest transmission shop could have taken advantage. Not Joe! I saved a ton of money and he gained a life long customer. Also! He sends you videos of the repair process just like the dealer! Super cool!

When you take your car to a shop for repair, the best you could hope for is that the shop you take…read moreit to treats you fairly, does a good job, and they respect you and your situation. The last thing you hope for, is that they only want to get as much money as possible from you and they have little concern for you as a customer. I wouldn't recommend bringing your car here because my experience was bad, and I'll explain why. I'll also recommend the transmission shop that worked out well for me. I usually start any repair by calling a few shops to see if a shop can do the job and what they estimate the cost to be. When I called Transmission Super Shop, I talked to the Owner Joe. And He didn't remember that I had called for a quote about my coolant system months ago, and he had given me a quote on transmission.. The previous quote I got was $5500. And during this call he was quoting upwards of $6000. It was easily a 15-20minute call, because I was driving from Downtown to Santa Monica and I was parking in Santa Monica when we concluded. Most of the discussion was him explaining to me why it was so expensive. I could tell he was upselling me from the previous time we spoke. And it concluded with me saying, "Well I simply don't have a budget for that amount" A few minutes later, He texted me back, saying that he would do the job for $3500. I will include Screenshots. Already, I would consider prices that are based on the amount of money the customer has, a "Yellow Flag" if not a "Red Flag". But after discussing it with him, it sounded more like he was scaling the type of work to fit my needs. He was willing to do a repair, rather than a replacement. And seeing as how they are a transmission shop that specializes in that type of work, it made sense that they would be willing and able to do that. I said, I would think about it and get back to him. At the time, I was considering selling the car, and My lease was up on my place, so I had to consider the added costs of moving. Tough Choice. I did some budgeting, and Messaged him a few days later and he said that the price was only good for that week. Which, okay, that sets off some warning signals. Why would the price change in a week? Sort of seems like a tactic to pressure the customer into doing the job... And it was. But, I thought about it and later that week I asked him if I could bring it in on the following monday because rent was due and it would work better if I waited till another pay check. He didn't remember our conversation. He asked what it was about, and he said he deleted the conversation. I totally get it, customers come and go and you deal with a lot of people, but it wasn't the best customer service. You would hope that if someone gives you a week to decide, that when you call back later that week they would still remember the ultimatum that forced you to consider rearranging your life to meet. But as it turns out, that's not the kind of customer service and consideration that Transmission Super Shop Offers. It was inconvenient to him. He said it was okay to bring the car in on that date. When the date came, I actually texted to ask if I could bring the car in earlier. Once again He didnt remember. And he said it would take 2 weeks. Which was different than what he had said earlier. So I asked why. He no longer wanted to do the job. But you should read the text messages and get a feel for the customer service and get a sense of his thought processes and mine. Decide for yourself what you think of it. But I'll give you my impression and my takeaway, because that's what a yelp review is. An account of my experience of a business. As a means of helping other people with their big decisions when considering that business. My impression of Joe and the Transmission Super shop.... They want your money, they want you in and out. Don't ask questions. Don't be inconvenient. Don't waste their time. Every conversation was actually a negotiation. RECAP: 1. I called for a quote and he didnt remember the previous quote and raised the price. 2. I didnt have the money, so he made me an offer, but said it was only good for that week. 3. I asked if I could bring it in early, he said no, & it would take 2 weeks 4. I ask why, and he says he doesn't want to do the job anymore. But as a customer, I was always acting on the information from our previous exchange. And each time he didnt remember and changed the situation and seemed annoyed by my questions. In his mind, he's giving me a deal and I should just bring it in no questions asked. He wasn't understanding of my situation. For me it was a months rent trying to save the life of my car, for him it was annoying. When your mechanic is annoyed that you have questions, its a problem. Go to Atlas Transmission. 310-532-3717 I wrote a review https://www.yelp.com/biz/atlas-transmissions-torrance?uid=H7SbZVauOdkGLFCymwiaWA&utm_campaign=www_business_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_l

He spun some story about how he's a mechanic and they could meet me at their place and could fix my car. I said hello no! I kept asking for the guy to give me his license, insurance, and registration. He didn't give me anything and had his boss try to talk to me and say they're going to fix my car. I kept saying, hello no. I said I'm going to have my own insurance look into fixing my car. I drive to the police station to make a police report about what happened. How did they know where I was going and was at the police station before I was? They tried to flash their paperwork in front of me and get me to go back to their place to get the information from them. I wouldn't leave the police station and wasn't following them anywhere. "Give me whatever you have and we can do this inside the police station." The owner said he felt uncomfortable inside the police station. WTF? Let's just exchange the information and get back to life. They wouldn't do it. After almost an hour of arguing trying to get information from the owner and his spinning story after story about how he had to go pay his employees, etc. I stepped out of the police station and tried to get the information from them and he tried to say he'd pay me for the damage if I followed him back to his shop. I said when he's done paying his employees that he can come back to the police station and we can exchange the information. He still wouldn't do it. In the end the police had to get involved. I stepped into line to make a official police report. The owner stood in line right by me. I didn't care. I was going to get my report regardless of what he said. He went to speak to an officer who was offering to give information. It was that officer who finally got them to give up their license information. It took him 5 minutes to take down all the information. These people are scammers! If you're legitimate and do things properly it shouldn't be this hard. You've got no reason to be afraid of the police! I waited for the guy to leave first afterwards and they went to my car and started taking pictures and was all over my car. Then they started making claims about my insurance damaging my car to inflate a claim. What kind of criminals are they? Stay far away from these people. Guess they thought they were going to get an easy scam out of me. They were wrong. I didn't cave.
