Horrible Experience - Unprofessional, Dishonest, and Damaged My Car I took my car to the shop located at 3300 N Federal Hwy, Lighthouse Point, FL 33064, and it was a huge mistake. They lied to me about replacing my brand-new battery, only to find out they swapped it for an old, used one. The very next day, my car broke down and I had to bring it back after spending $2000 on repairs. My car was kept in their shop for almost two months, and after calling every day, I was given excuse after excuse. When I finally got my car back, I found out that they had broken my window and didn't even bother to tell me about it. After reading several reviews, I can now confirm that Lou is unprofessional, and the mechanics are rude and dishonest. I would highly recommend avoiding this place. A few weeks ago my transmission started to slip and I ended up having AAA tow my car to AAMCO in Davie, FL since it was the closest location. I had plans on returning the next day since the business was already closed for the day. When I returned the next day I noticed no one was at the business despite it saying it was open on the website. My car keys were left inside the dropbox for the business so I ended up having to call to get in contact with the owner. The telephone number I called automatically transfers me to the Wilton Manors location and they informed me the owner would come open the shop and to get my keys but he was coming from the Pompano Beach location so it was going to take a while. The owner, Lee, arrived and he was so understanding and professional. He apologized for the inconvenience and informed me that the Davie location is awaiting approval to open from the city. To accommodate me he offered to tow my vehicle to any AAMCO shop of my choice. I truly appreciated this since I had just used a tow on my AAA account the day before. I asked for it to me towed to Pompano Beach location since it was closer to my home and he did it with no problem. He was very friendly and had excellent customer service and people skills. He even sat and talked with me until the tow company was in route. This location was busy the first day so they didn't get to work on my car, but within a week my car had been serviced and they did a thorough check on my vehicle and even checked my motor mounts. My car was making a knocking noise before I brought it in to get service and once they replaced the motor mounts it was back quiet like when it was brand new. They also repaired my transmission. Throughout the week they gave updates and Lee was very honest and transparent about the cost of the service so there were no hidden fees. I loved the professionalism and honesty of this business. Lee gained a forever customer. I also loved that they offered me a complimentary check up and told me to return about ten days after my car was fixed just to ensure everything was working properly. I am currently having a CVT transmission issue. AAMCO LHP was my second opinion place. I first went to 1A1A Wholesale Trans who were also good but said I needed another transmission. Lou at AAMCO was pleasant and diagnosed the issue within a half a day. They came to a different conclusion than A1A and were willing to open the CVT up, for further diagnosis. I am still undecided as to how I will proceed. read more

I used AAMCO to repair the clutch on my car and all of my problems and issues were resolved to my satisfaction.

I had my Isuzu transmission rebuilt twice in the last 5 years by these knuckleheads, and it just broke again. I have spent close to $6,000 for the repairs. I am heading there tomorrow to see if they make good on their work. read more

The owner Lee is a horrible horrible bigoted person, he treats customers like they are nothing. His guys never fixed my transmission leaks after paying them to do so. I contacted Lee right after the repair and he just gave me a hard time and threatened to place a lien on the car if I leave it there. My car continued to leak for several months and now has a huge leak. I contacted the shop and was told by the manager Lou to bring it in for repair but the owner still will not honor the warranty claiming that the warranty ran out. Lee then placed an illegal lien on the car the following day after I told him that the bank will pick it up because I could no longer afford to keep paying to fix the car. I would not recommend this place to worst enemy. I have never been treated like this in my whole existence especially from someone I just spent so much money on and only wanted what I paid for. read more

I was having some issues with my car and took it to valvoline to have the oil changed and get the fluid flushed out. Well they weren't able to flush it there but the gentleman recommend to me Aamco right down the road. So I said alright I'll check them out. I walk in and right away I am greet by the gentleman Lou at the front desk. I wasn't able to drop the car off that day but I dropped it off the next day. They asked if they could go ahead and run a diagnostic on the car based on the information I gave them, he said it sounded like something else was going on in there. So they took the transmission apart and looked at it and as it turns out it needed some real work. Lout stayed in regular contact with me through out the entire process making sure I was entirely informed of what was happening with my vehicle. It took a little longer than I was expecting but the customer service was above and beyond what I would've expected. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Lee and his crew took apart our transmission and were able to not only explain to us what had failed and how it likely happened but gave us options for proceeding with the necessary repairs. His price was competitive but his honesty and commitment to getting us back on the road quickly was why we decided to hire his company. They did a great job and completed it in a timely manner. We had our son's transmission rebulit at this location shortly before he left for college out of state. We chose AAMCO because of their warranty and numerous locations nationwide in the event there was a problem while our son was away. At the very end of the warranty period, our son took his truck in to a location in another state due to some issues with his transmission slipping. We could not be more pleased with the way Lou at this location and the entire teams at both AAMCO locations worked in repairing the issues (both the first and subsequent times) and making sure we were treated right. This place is awful. They charged me more than BMW did and BMW told me someone messed with my car. What happen was : My bmw had this burning smell while I drove it, so I thought I was having transmission issues. I went here and they told me it wasn't the transmission. They charged me 400$ to change the oil tap and told me oil is what I was smelling. When I picked up my car, it was shaking and could barely drive. They told me to come back and wanted to charge me another 400$ for a new issue. I said no. I took my car to BMW the maker and they fixed it for 220$ and told me someone put the vacuum hoes on top of the engine and it was melting, that was the burning smell. I recently came to this Aamco location as I had past experiences with mechanics in Miami trying to rip me off and the rave reviews made me want to try it. First of all, I have a mini cooper and I know how difficult it is to work on this vehicle. Before arranging to bring it in, I called and spoke to Lee. He is a very nice guy and straight to the point, my only regret of our exchange was how clear I thought i had been in explaining what I was encountering with the car, but I digress. Let me begin with saying after I spoke to him he said I could get it towed to his facility to have free diagnosis. I agreed, tow company may not be affiliated and they were great. After 2 days with my car, I called. First bad sign. Second, he tells me its a $950 diagnosis fee because it was a transmission problem. Shocker. Long story short, when you get a call and the person is telling you its a mini cooper please tell them that right off the bat. He then proceeded to tell me best case scenario $1600. Worst case $6500. And in order to know $950. Sorry but no one will take a chance like that. You own a franchise who are experts with transmission, these things need to be on the table first so you don't disappoint a potential customer right off the bat. I brought my car in for service at this AAMCO location last Thursday, 3/17/16. I drive a manual 2007 Mustang GT and it started making a when I shift gears. Initially, the problem was diagnosed as a clutch bearing issue, but once that was changed and the issue remained, they found the problem and fixed it at no additional cost.
