IF YOU ARE A WOMAN DO NOT GO TO CAM AUTO. I never leave reviews but I was so offended by this entire interaction that I feel required to. I brought my car to Cam Auto back in December to get my air conditioning fixed because my normal shop doesn't fix AC and I saw great reviews online. They evaluated the issue for me, told me how much it would cost, I told them I did not have the money at the time and would bring it back to them in a few months, and they gave me the evaluation for free. The only thing I found strange is that I gave them my boyfriend's number incase I was unavailable at work, but they would only call him. I found that strange, considering it's MY car and MY money, but was very impressed that they didn't make me pay for the looking into the issue, so I brought it back months later like I promised. When I brought it back to them this week, I paid Mark over $1300 for "a new air compressor". My air conditioning was not fixed at all. I had the same exact problem I previously had, and when I called Mark to tell him I was bringing it back he responded by screaming the F word on the phone. When I got back, he said to me "YOU broke it already, that was quick" with a hugeeee smile on his face. He said I can pick it up today I said I'll pick it up tomorrow I have work, and he giggled and responded with an obvious attitude. I did not get an apology. I did not get any accountability. I got the f word screamed over the phone and was told it was my fault. I had my boyfriend go pick it up today, because obviously Mark only listens to other men. We had to call and ask if the car was ready, no one told us it was, then when he asked on if we would have to pay anything additional, we were hung up on. Called back, no one answered the phone. After getting there and explaining we were planning on bringing 4 other cars to him and that we are also business owners who deeply value INTEGRITY, my boyfriend got an apology! Well Mark, since I'm the one who paid you over $1300 you should be apologizing to ME, right? Nope, I got nothing. Mark said to my boyfriend that they tightened the gasket too much and it leaked overnight. Well thank god I picked it up the next day and not when they told me to or they would have sent me home with a car that would stop working over night! Considering someone else's review said they used zip ties, I'll be taking it somewhere new to get checked to make sure they didn't duct tape it back together. Avoid Cam Automotive of Deerfield at all costs. We had our 2016 Land Rover LR4 towed 1.5 hours to Land Rover of Orlando after the coolant system catastrophically failed while driving on the turnpike. Upon inspection, the failure was traced to improper installation of the hose from the thermostat to the radiator. The hose was routed incorrectly during the radiator install, causing it to rub against the A/C compressor pulley until it was eventually severed--leading to the blowout. The workmanship was poor--zip ties were used and along with not installing proper clips. To make matters worse, when we brought this to the attention of Mark at Cam Automotive, he responded aggressively and deflected any responsibility. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, he blamed everything and everyone else. Dishonesty and substandard repairs are a dangerous combination. I strongly recommend you take your vehicle elsewhere. This kind of negligence could have led to a much more serious outcome. read more

I called Cam Automotive to address an issue I had with a service they provided my mother. She has Alzheimers and dementia. She went to Cam and requested an oil change which she did not need. She drives less than 100 miles a month with the aid and had one no more than 2 months ago. When I spoke to an associate I explained what had happened and asked if they check the oil to confirm the client needs to change it. He laughed at me and said why would we do that, she asked for a change. A little old lady, sure because she knows what she's talking about. I wasn't asking for any money just wanting to understand what due diligence they perform and apparently there is none. He said they can only tell if a change is needed after they drain the oil. Lie. I asked why not check the dipstick which he replied we don't have time to do that. Doesn't make sense - it takes less than 2 minutes to check the dip stick. Ok, this is my first time "submitting a project" through Yelp. Let me just say, I was not super impressed. Not with Cam, but with the other auto shops it was submitted to at outset. Cam Automotive reached out to me quickly. Others didn't respond; some said no outright. All I wanted was to change my power steering and brake fluids. Nothing crazy. Mark, the owner contacted me. He called on his cell phone and gave me quotes as asked. When I showed up, it was a clean nice shop. Mark was behind the counter and made me feel right at home. I had driven about 20 miles and needed to use the restroom; he immediately showed me behind the counter where I had to deal with a platypus. Yes, a platypus. His beautiful Golden Retriever came to meet me with her toy platypus and was so sweet and kind wanting to play. I almost forgot I had to, well anyway. I go on to say, I felt like family. He didn't try to upsell me; and I also overheard him say to his employee, this person dropped their car off for the starter, let's just make sure that's the problem first. Super honest! Mark and his team replaced the AC compressor and dryer in my 2005 Jeep Wrangler. The AC worked great for about a week and then the AC stopped blowing cool air. I brought the Jeep back in and they replaced all O-rings in the lines as they were old and dried out. One fitting is discontinued and no longer made so Mark searched for a used or replacement piece with no success. He then found someone who could rebuild the old fitting on my Jeep. Now the Jeep AC works great with no apparent leaks. I've been to many Auto Shops over the years who would have said there is nothing they can do since the part is discontinued. Cam Auto went above and beyond to make sure the work was completed and followed up with me a week later to ensure there were no other issues.
