I've been going to Poirier's for 3 years now and sadly it's not what it used to be. Overall service is fine but the mechanics aren't up to the grade. The service desk has a new person who's more interested in their phones than actual services for people. They will give you estimates but not really explain the why and how. Im not a business owner but If I want people's business I would push more info on the cars issues. Maybe they will improve. Or maybe they just don't need business that bad. Brought my vehicle for a new tire and after getting it back I noticed rim damage. They were closed so went in when they opened the very next morning. Guy at front stated multiple times "they usually tell me when they do something like this" and "I'm going to call my rim guy and make this right" then next Monday I received an email stating after reviewing the photos (that he took when I brought it back with damage) you hit a curb and were not fixing it. The damage is on the very edge of the rim and long, damage that long IF hitting a curb would also leave damage on the face of the rim. I definitely feel like the "you hit a curb" excuse was an easy way out for him because I'm a female especially after seeing it in person and stating multiple times "I'm going to make this right"...why wasn't a curb brought up then! It's very clear this was done by the machine so instead of making this right for probably less than $300 they would rather loose a customer that paid $317 for ONE tire they could have made it back on my next tire purchase. Definitely feel like this was only done because I am a woman I've been driving large duallys since I was 14 I know how to take a wide enough turn to not touch a curb. read more

As an out of state visitor, and not knowing where to go, Poirier's was extremely helpful. Bobby's assurance over the phone carried through to his in service hospitality and friendliness. Shiloh couldn't have been more helpful in locating a new tire and Bobby's willingness to go and pick it up so that I could get my blown out tire replaced is beyond commendable. I was on my way to work the other morning and it seemed like my car was overheating. I pulled into their parking lot and explained what I thought was going on. I was asked to go inside and speak with the man at the counter (who I might say didn't seem like he was in a very good mood). An older gentleman came inside and got me. I explained what was going on and he popped the hood checked my oil and water both of which were low...actually the oil was really low. He topped off both and checked for any possible leaks. I asked him how much and he said don't worry about it and have a great day....WOW !!! Super nice guy and great customer service to say the least. The best and most honest auto repair shop. Poirier's service center has been servicing our cars for many years, can't even remember how many. They always do a great job at a fair price. I have a 1982 Checker Taxi. No one else even wants to attempt to repair it. Poirier's always comes through for me. This is the place to repair your vehicle. We have a 20 year old mustang we love and these guys have a knack for fixing things before they break and strand me. I just came in for an oil change and new wiper blades, and asked them to check the car over. Turns out brakes need work and the alternator is shot. BEWARE! This is not the same Poirier's ownership we've been using for past 6 years. Ken sold the place according to new front desk guy. I just returned from the Nissan Dealer replacing 6 coils and sparkplugs ($2500.00) that I just replaced at poirier's just over a year ago. The 'new' Poiriers wouldn't replace the coils & spark plugs under warranty because it was one month past "1 year warranty on parts". I got 150,000 miles on the original coils and spark plugs. Only 37,000 miles with new coils and spark plugs. read more

Totally trustworthy. Wanted to buy a truck so I took it to them and for $49 they inspected it and told me not to buy it. Found another truck. They checked it out and said the same thing but didn't charge me. Mark wanted to help me so he saw a truck for sale I might like and called me. I went to see it, had them inspect it and they told me it needed $800 worth of repairs to be in top shape. I called around to try to get in for a wheel alignment last minute and no one had time for me until I called Poirier's Service Center. They said they were busy but could squeeze me in. I arrived and told them I needed a wheel alignment because my car was shaking when I was driving. They educated me that it may not be a wheel alignment that I needed but something else. They would take a look at it first (for free) and tell me whats wrong with the car before they did anything. Well low and behold, my tire was about to explode. He brought me back to show me the tire and saw a huge gash in the front tire. At first I thought "oh great, I don't have time to shop around for new tires and bring my car back some other time, i need it fixed NOW". The owner said he knew a guy not too far from there and priced out some tired for me. He then jumped in his truck, got me my tires and put them on all within the hour!. They pride themselves on "doing the right thing" They could have taken my car back to do the wheel alignment just like I asked and be done with me and move on to the next customer but they didn't. They took the time to educate me instead of just telling me I need this fixed. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone I know. (They also have incentives on referrals) read more

I had a loose tensioner on my power steering and they just fixed, free of charge and said have a great day. Wow these guys are Great!! Never have I met mechanics that have Integrity. I needed a easy wheel stud replace, had the stud just needed it put in. I called around and was shocked on what some quotes just to mount one screw . I can understand labor costs but $300-$350? and on top wanted my car for a couple days. I will do my best here to be non judgemental. Like that old TV show used to say: "just the facts, Ma'am"". Not too long ago, there was am elderly woman, nearly 85 years old, who was driving her friend"s car home from work, when the car began running erratically. Her friend had read reviews about this garage and recommended it so she went there. What did the car need: new spark plug wires. What work did this garage perform? This list is nothing short of incredulous: new brakes... new timing belt... head gasket... on and on. Nearly $1400 in unauthorized unnecessary repairs. Unauthorised? Counter to Florida law, the garage gave no signed written estimate. Had no permission to do the work. In fact the car did not even belong to this elderly woman. They simply performed unneeded work, then refused to release the car until the bill was paid. The law requires a signed written estimate for repairs over fifty dollars. These folks had nothing signed. They had no written estimate. They simply performed unauthorized unneeded work and then billed for it. This is illegal. Unnecessary repairs? We are all familiar with the standard mechanic lines... ""been in business xxxi years""...""based on my professional judgment it needed... ""...""you are not a mechanic so you cannot be the judge here..."". Very hard to argue with a mechanic and win, on the subject of their alleged repairs. So the elderly woman did not argue. In the glove box of the car was the service record of the car. For the previous six years, since her friend had owned the car, like a clock it had been meticulously maintained. Those brakes this shop had just replaced? The factory authorized dealer had replaced only three months ago. The timing chain, which is warranted for 100.000 (the car had 91,000) and this shop had just replaced... It had been replaced by the factory authorized dealership less than four months, and less than 4000 miles, previous. The head gasket? The car exhibited no signs of needing a head gasket. All new brakes? Again... in writing... from the authorized factory dealership, less than six months, less than 4000 miles, previous. $1400 dollars worth of unauthorized unneeded repairs. There was not one repair this shop performed which was needed. It was all there... six years of documented service records. Had did she know she needed spark plug wires? Driving the car home the car exhibited the car refused to run correctly. It exhibited the same exact problem as when she had brought the car in to this garage. Fearing for her safety on the highway she returned to the garage and demanded to know why the car had not been repaired. Only then did the garage perform the only repair the car needed: spark plug wires. When confronted, this shop first denied everything. See paragraph 4. After hemming and hawing, the garage agreed to refund 1/2 of the money, but only because "you got me there" over the unauthorized repairs without a signature. The elderly woman asked if, money aside, did the owner of the garage feel something morally wrong had taken place here? I mean... $1400 dollars worth of unauthorized unneeded work performed on an elderly woman's car like that... and the real need repair hadn't even been made. Didn't he feel maybe someone had taken advantage of someone? Wasn't she owed an apology? Wasn't this morally wrong? See paragraph 4. So the elderly woman told him to keep the money. The man who answered was very helpful and honestly told me that they weren't going to be able to look at my car quickly due to a large number of jobs currently going on, which I thought was extremely professional and courteous given my expressed time-crunch. Update: I scaled back my review from a 5 to a 3 stars. I set an appointment was there on time, first appointment of the day. However, I ended staying longer than I should have for a routine headlight bulb replacement. They charged me an arm and a leg for something that should have been cheaper and I looked up a video on how to do the replacement but I lacked the tools. Additionally, bulbs aren't expensive so the bulk of my costs came from them wasting my time and them charging an arm and a leg for the manpower. Call set an appointment and get a quote and let them know what the competition is will to charge you. Finally, what really ticked me off was when I put my email in for my receipt they added me to their mailing list. WTF! I simply wanted a digital of the services rendered that I paid for and should have been notified that I would be added to a mailing list where my personal email will be shared without my permission. Now I changed it to a 2 star review. Original: These guys were amazing they replaced three tires that were in horrific condition. I had no idea that the had gone as bad as they were and I was notified that Firestone could not have made the tire changes that they had said due to the condition they had been in, I am currently awaiting reimbursement due to Dave's advice. While waiting my car to be fixed Dave took me and my wife home out of the kindness of his heart not that he had too, we didn't ask and would have been fine waiting but he went out of his way, even though he did not have to. This place is amazing, and fair, they don't try to sell you needless items and understand that people are on a budget, so they tell you what needs to be fixed now and what can get fixed later (if you're on a budget). I didn't have much contact with Mr. Poirier but even though he and I didn't meet, I will say that Mark and Dave were outstanding guys. Mark is the short guy, Dave is taller they both alternate between the front desk. These guys are amazing. I showed up around 2 PM on a Tuesday, because of a warning light in my dashboard showing unusually low pressure in one of my tires. Mark welcomed me, came up to my car and asked me about the issue. He told me right away that patching the tire (if feasible) would cost me around $24. I agreed to let them have a look at the issue, and after about 5 minutes they took the car in but were unable to find a problem with the faulty tire. One of the mechanics came up to me in the waiting area to discuss and provide advice in case the problem reoccurs; the entire process made me feel very confident that the people here know what they're doing. Talking about the waiting area, it is bright and welcoming, with a nice clean bathroom and free wifi for their guests. Lovely place and great people - Mark handed me my keys about half an hour later, told me "No charge" and shook my hand. What else can you ask for? read more

I just want to give a Shout out to this Service Center.A friend had recommended them to me, and I took my car over because it felt" shaky"..They were kind enough to look it over,test drive it there and then..and HONESTLY said.."It may be bad gasoline..it didn't appear to have any other issues." There was no charge for that..and I left thinking to myself..these guys are such a rarity. A middle aged woman comes in..knows nothing about cars.. MOST places would FIND a problem..or CREATE one(which i have experienced!!) These guys are the Real Deal. Good people in the neighborhood who you can trust. I can't tell you enough great things about this place! After moving to the area and having a terrible experience at another mechanic the search was on. After seeing the off the chart reviews for this place I was a bit skeptical at first but I kept an open mind. I had to try this place after it was told to me that thus place was the real McCoy....I had an appointment for my car because I was having issues and set it up for Friday morning. My car decided to break down on Tuesday and I called up the shop for some help. I spoke to Ken the owner and he was so helpful in getting me a tow to the shop. I checked in with Lisa at the front desk who was great and very helpful with my situation. I was told that they could probably look at my car the next day as it was very busy. No issues! I was amazed at getting a call from Dave regarding my issues with the car. He was extremely helpful into what was wrong. I told him no rush and because they squeezed me in I can have the car sit till Friday. I get a call the end of business day on Wednesday from Dave and said my car was done! I was in shock I think I fell off my chair! I told him I'd they didn't mind I live 20 miles away if they could store it over night and I would pick it up in the morning. Again no issues! I picked up my car and dealt with Lisa again for payment which is a delight. Then Dave who I met for the 1st time who worked on my car took 30 minute's of his time to show Mr and explain everything. He even showed me the bad parts he took out of my car. What an amazing experience I had at that shop! I then get a call a few days later from the owner Ken who just wanted to follow up and see how my car was doing??? Talk about 1st class service!
