Bad experience - we had windows replaced, the experience was poor so I wrote a bad review. The owner, Brian, called and apologized and offered a free window. I appreciated that so I removed the review. Unfortunately, he could never get us scheduled. We are now having more work done, including the remaining windows in our home and the contractor is appalled at the horrible work that was done by Aames. He showed us photos of pieces of wood (scrap pieces) used to "seal" the windows. There is moisture getting through which I had told Brian about, but he denied that was ever happening. So glad we trusted our intuition and went with someone else. read more

We had Aames install 4 large dual-pane windows and 1 sliding glass door for us back in December. The owner Brian and one other guy took out all of our old windows and installed all the new windows in only one and a half days! They worked very fast and efficiently, and they were definite pros in installation. Our windows were installed before the heavy rains we had, and we haven't had any problems with leakage or anything else. Excellent installation. The reason I give them 4 stars out of 5 is because the professionalism was not quite where we would have expected it to be. Brian came to our house late a few times, and it was difficult to contact him via phone and email. Aames definitely has the best prices around, though, they're good at what they do, and they are a nice small family-owned business, so I would recommend them to friends, and I would use them again. read more

Had a fabulous experience with Aames transforming our home. They installed two sets of sliding glass doors where we previously had large windows, and also replaced another older window. We got quotes from several "big national" kind of places and Aames was comparable or slightly better but with much more responsive, high-touch service and faster turnaround times. I had Aames windows replace 28 windows and a slider patio door. I received 8 estimates from other window companies in the area, with Aames windows being the second to last quote. I chose Aames windows because of Brians honest sales presentation. They did a fabulous job! Brian was very professional, knowledgeable and did not pressure me in any way. He informed of the product, gave me a quote (which I was very happy with), and told me to call him when I was ready. We signed the contract and in three weeks the windows were in and ready to be installed. Brian and his crew always kept me in the loop. Brian was easy to deal with, always on time, and very patient with me. The installers were clean and I am very happy with their work. We had an old garden window, with granite stone laid on top of the garden. Other companies did not want to touch the garden window, being afraid that they would break the stone. Aames windows remove the granite as a whole piece, and install the new garden window. We also had two bedroom windows cut down to meet code, one bedroom window was new construction, a garden window, patio door, and my favorite: a regular window turned into a bay window. Beautiful!! If you're looking for someone who will flake and reschedule all the time, Brian's your guy! He was very unprofessional, the way he handled his business. He may come off friendly at first and establishes a good rapport with his clients, but he gets a little too comfortable thinking you guys are "friends" and he can just cancel on the same day because he has another job that needs to be finished elsewhere- as if your home project isn't as important. Though the job eventually gets finished, it's because he realizes he won't get the rest of his payment until he completes his work. I would NOT recommend him or his company. read more

One thing to note is the window products they use is very high quality, even the base models had installed were much better than most windows in this range, The job was completed today and everything looks great! We ordered a window for a bathroom remodel, and didn't get a call when the window was in, didn't show up to install the window when scheduled, and came late for the re-schedule. The window was installed crooked, so one side is closer to the framing then the other. The stucco will need to be sloped inward to hide that. They patched the hole from the old window with the scratch coat of stucco, which even having had the dimensions and photos, showed up and charged more because they "didn't know it was that much," and they left a mess of stucco and garbage when they were done. They were skilled in the window installation and also handled the painting of outside trim, and the staining of the inside trim perfectly and neatly.
