After another HVAC company later diagnosed the dampers as the actual issue, I was frustrated that my original concern had been missed. After posting my review, the owner personally reached out to discuss my experience. He apologized for the misdiagnosis and explained that the replacement parts they use are commercial-grade and higher quality than the lower-cost versions I had found online, which helped me better understand the pricing. While I still wish the original issue had been correctly identified, I appreciated that he took the time to listen to my concerns, explain the charges, and offer a partial refund to make things right. Although my experience with the initial service visit was disappointing, I believe it's important to recognize when a business stands behind its work and makes a genuine effort to resolve a customer's concerns. It wasn't until I found a wasp nest under one of the alcoves on the front of my house and having to kill a spider, with babies pouring out of it that I finally realized enough is enough!! My sister lives in the area and recommended a chain service, but I found their online reviews to be consistently negative. So, I did some research on Yelp and Google and found Hole-In-One Pest Solutions. I wish I had called earlier as I continue to put this off despite having additional spiders coming through various cracks, corners, doorways, etc. The customer service representative was extremely helpful and kind. Super easy to talk to and helped me set up my first pest control appointment. I've always lived in an apartment so I've never had to deal with this before. I appreciated her patience and compassion as I explained my terrifying wolf spider story. Within just a couple days (due to my schedule) I had a tech out at my place. He listened attentively to the issues, and after a walk around the perimeter we agreed to a treatment plan and price. (Side note - a big turn off and red flag for me is when companies try to guilt or scare you into a subscription or additional services. This was NOT the case. Thank you for treating me fairly and not taking advantage of a first time homeowner/renter. I will always respect the integrity of a company that stands behind their services and work to create value added packages without the over the top sales pressure, and that starts from the top, so kudos to your management!!) When Alex called to discuss my appointment, he cut me off as soon as I began describing my situation. Instead of listening, he told me I "needed to see a doctor" and that there was nothing they could do. He did not give me the chance to explain that I had already seen a doctor and been medically cleared. His dismissive attitude was rude and completely inappropriate for someone in customer service. I then called the corporate office and spoke with Bailey, who told me this was not how their company treats clients and that she would look into it and call me back. She seemed to respond, but the next person I spoke to was Johnathan, who made the situation worse. On his first call, he insulted my intelligence by telling me my building had extermination services, even though I was trying to hire my own independent service. On his second call, he flat-out denied service entirely. Despite having an active pest issue, they refused to even come inspect the unit, give guidance, or attempt to help in any way. I was also told their treatments were "watered down" and that I could buy stronger products at Home Depot--so why even hire a professional? This is how they treat someone actively seeking help with an ongoing infestation? Dismissive, unprofessional, condescending, and unwilling to provide service.
