I called up Frank, the owner, after finding out about his business on Yelp as I needed help in repairing my old doorbell wiring and installing a GFCI outlet in my kitchen to bring it up to code. Frank and I struck up a conversation for at least an hour during my initial phone call and without me even saying "yes"! Frank went over all the details about the industry and his experience and we just talked back and forth. He truly knows his stuff! In the end, he gave me a fair and upfront estimate for the job. During the actual service visit, Mike came and promptly diagnosed the issue as missing a transformer after he properly identified the wire leading up to the doorbell. You know that moment you realize you are officially old? For me, it was this past Christmas morning, when I opened my gifts and was elated to receive ceiling fans, light fixtures, and even a snazzy "fandelier" (Google it! So cute and fun!). But now I had all the fixtures of my dreams and approximately zero talent with which to install them. Though our DIY skills have improved with the pandemic, I didn't want to mess with electric, and certainly not in our 50 year old home. A friend highly recommended Aardvark, so I called to get a quote. I presume it was the owner I talked to as he spoke of sending out "his crew" and man, this guy should have been in sales/public relations/some sort of public speaking job - he put me IMMEDIATELY at ease about what I was asking for, explained exactly what his crew would be doing, how long it would take, what I could expect when they were done, etc. He never once made me feel stupid about knowing zero about electric, and he was honest and straightforward in his explanation of pricing. I immediately booked them to come out a week later! Of course Covid happens to be surging right now as they came to our home so I was delighted with how incredibly respectful the crew was in regard to distancing and mask wearing. They were polite, kind, fast, thorough, and so clean. They installed 4 ceiling fans and three light fixtures in a matter of hours and I managed to work from home the entire time without any interruption. They explained to me why they had to cut a hole in the ceiling for one of the fixtures (again, 50 year old house) but otherwise, you would never know they were here. I'm already dreaming up new reasons for them to come back - all of the things I've been wanting to fix or change. I found out the day before our yard party that our outside electric outlet was not working. Called Aardvark and they were out the next day to put in a new GCFI. Also had them cut a hole in the wall further down and install a new GCFI for the backyard so I always have a back up electrical outlet (ok, all my friends are in bands and so am I so we need some electricity). Then, I had them replace another broken GCFI upstairs. Total for 90 min of work was under $300 -including materials. WOW. He also gave me great advice about my front lights which I will have them out later to install (a timer so they go on at dusk). Total class act here! No feeling of being up sold! Only pragmatic advice to suit my budget. No mess, and the new outlet looks fab. His GCFI's are even classier than my existing ones. Soon I'll post a photo of the new outside outlet. My wife is on a mission to redo things in our kitchen. Electrically, pendant lights over a counter, and then under cabinet LED tape lights in several locations. Me, I was more concerned about restoring the drywall after installation. I think we got 4 or 5 estimates. By far, Frank had ideas to install this stuff that was WAY less destructive than the other electricians! We wanted to install Canned lights so I did my research on yelp and I came up to this company. I noticed that they had five stars out of over 50 reviews. This was a really good sign. I called the owner of the company and told him what we need and we scheduled an appointment with him because the price point was extremely fair. They install the four Canned light for $572. AArdvark came to my house to change out a ceiling fan and install a $2500 chandelier. My ceilings are also 25ft high!!! They arrived on time and did a great job. I also asked them to check out some new ceiling fans that another company had installed but only worked with a remote. AArdvark was able to make a great suggestion about these new light switches and they went out and bought them and installed them for me. Now my fans work with the switch instead of the remote. Their pricing is also fair. Keep in mind they charge by the hour not job. I would recommend them for sure. In fact I received a check back for $90 because the owner said I was overcharged. It's been such a long time since since I hired Aardvark to do a bunch of work such as hanging a new dining fixture rewiring a light switch that was turning on a light in another room!
