My wife and I have always been very pleased with the service provided by Cordial Electric because Luis and his crew are prompt, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. At our previous residence, Cordial replaced outdated outlets in our kitchen and living room a few years ago. They arrived quickly, did solid work, and did not try to upsell with any unnecessary services. At our current residence, they recently came to address a flickering can-light issue in our high kitchen ceiling and install a few things in other areas that had been on our wish list. Luis actually offered to have the guys come out the very same day that I called, but I had another appointment that afternoon and they arrived at our door right at 8 a.m. the next morning (I noticed them parked outside waiting patiently a few minutes prior as we finished getting ourselves ready). The flickering can-light issue at our current residence turned out to just be a bad bulb, fortunately. With that out of the way, they addressed our wish-list installations. Those included dimmer switches for the dining and kitchen pendant lights along with a porch-light timer and shower light (the shower-light installation entailed having one of the guys climb into the overhead attic space). All were handled in relatively short order and done very well. Also, they took care of running out to the nearby Home Depot store to purchase any needed items that they did not already have with them. We also mentioned to Luis that we were wondering about installing another outlet above our kitchen cabinets to plug in an LED light strip. He said it can certainly be done, but he also mentioned a lower-cost alternative. Specifically, he suggested plugging the power cord into an existing kitchen-counter outlet and having the cord run behind one of the kitchen cabinets if we would like for it to be less conspicuous. I think we very well may follow that more cost-effective suggestion the next time they come out. My family and I want to thank Cordial Electric for seriously saving our lives. I am giving them as many stars as you can give plus double that. They came out yesterday to take care of an electrical issue we had after drywall was installed. They found much more and advised us of the problems. Since our home was built in the late 60's the codes were different and electrical work was not up to par. Without getting too technical, I'm going to show you a picture of how the wires looked. Okay, i can't get the picture to show. Trust me, the wires were super frayed. I really like all three of the team. There was no hardsell, just good energy, a good vibe, and a very good job. I already have plans to have them come out next summer for another project. I don't do a lot of reviews, but I felt like I needed to give them two thumbs up. Out of nowhere while cooking dinner, we started getting a very strong smell of plastic. Looking throughout the house, we didn't see anything burning, and the smell was localized to the kitchen. We googled it and saw that it can commonly come from electrical wiring issues, and we followed recommendations to call the fire department. They came but did not find any issues. The smell was getting worse, so I called several electricians in the area, but they were all unavailable to come. Cordial Electric answered the phone quickly and came within 40 minutes! While here, he investigated things thoroughly and listened well as we shared what we found. Eventually, he thought to look above the range in a cupboard that had the range exhaust motor - we found the source of the smell! He unplugged it, and we're going to look to get a fix or replacement motor. Was impressed by his professionalism and ability to get to the root cause quickly. read more

I've had to contact many companies for various jobs: plumbing, masonry, electric, etc and often times people rush through the estimate to move on to the next job. With Cordial, I felt heard and respected even before I hired them. Starting with the first contact and ending with my electrician Luis who had to come back for the final inspection. It wasn't the lowest quote I received but Luis was extremely honest and professional. He has done jobs in Berwyn before so I knew I could count on him to come back for the inspection. I did not feel this assurance with other companies I spoke to. Luis worked fast and did an amazing job. Cordial Electric just updated our electrical panel and we only have good things to say about them. Luis was super patient with us and dealt with us in person every time we had questions. We were unsure we wanted to proceed with the work, being fearful of the damage it would cause to our finished basement. We also had delays in getting our permit. He worked with us through each step of the way. In the end, the work was done on time, exactly as quoted and with only one small cut in our wall. We passed inspection with no problem. We needed to have a new sump pump pit installed in our home, but the vendor wouldn't do the electric. Our city required a new line and circuit dedicated to the sump pump. I called Jose, the owner of Cordial Electric. He came out, took a look around our place and gave me a reasonable estimate. He went to our village hall and took care of the permit paperwork. The next day 3 trucks with himself and 4 guys completed the entire job in under 2 hours. Our city inspector was pleased with the work. Luis came out the day I called about a flickering light issue. After examining our panel and meter and discussing the issue, I asked about upgrading our panel and adding a 40V outlet in our garage. Luis and crew came out two days later and completed the work in a diligent, professional, and courteous manner. The crew was clean and helpfully explained the issue that caused the flickering and the work they had completed. The panel and all work look great and we happily avoided larger issues. Our backyard floodlights had not worked in several years. I had tried to troubleshoot the problem on my own and got nowhere. I was afraid that I would need to dig up my yard and replace the underground line, but Luis and Michael (hope I got their names right) came out and were able to pinpoint where the wire was damaged, and make a fairly simple fix, at a reasonable cost.
