Dr. Aaron Tjogas has changed my life! Upon my first visit, he made me feel very comfortable that I had come to the right place; he did a very in depth assessment, all the while taking notes. When we first met, I hobbled in as a very pregnant lady with all kinds of aches and pains. I could tell that he was assessing my current state and acknowledging previous injuries. Dr. Tjogas is a chiropractor like no other I have ever met. I have been going to chiropractors for more than 26 years - seeing over a dozen. Some of them spent no more than 5 minutes with me, and some up to 30 minutes. Dr. Tjogas always spends at least 30 minutes and addresses all of my aches and pains, with a detailed explanation of the effected muscles, bones, and tendons and how he is helping them. He has extraordinary insight and knowledge of how muscles groups work together and how they affect each other, and how they affect the spine - and he openly shares his knowledge which gives me confidence that he knows what he's doing - and the results speak for themselves. After the 1.5 hour initial exam, the postural analysis with pictures and graphs (sent via email), and a complete, pinpoint, gentle, but accurate adjustment - I was sold. Convinced this guy was cut from cloth, I have been back 10 times and signing up for weekly visits for the foreseeable future. You will not be disappointed. In fact, my wife who has always been skeptical and afraid of chiropractors and has had some chronic issues with her shoulders for more than 10 years - and tried rolfing and physical therapy - has finally found relief from Dr. Tjogas' care. Even she can't believe the rapid improvement she is experiencing. We have also recommended a friend in our town to Dr. Tjogas, and she reports nothing but the highest praise. I almost never write reviews, but my experience with Dr. Aaron Tjogas was so amazing I have to share it. After hearing about what he did for my daughter, her boyfriend, her best friend (who had been told that only surgery could help her), and their families, I had already been planning to visit him. An incapacitating shoulder pain with tingling and numbness down to my fingers made it urgent. Kaiser could not help me at all, other than to give me a numbing injection. My crisis occurred over the holidays, but Aaron went out of his way to see me, even coming in on a Saturday morning when he was leaving for vacation. He was able to quickly find the source of the problem, explain it to me, and begin to treat it. His work with me over the course of a week enabled me to go from being in excruciating pain to being able to use my arm again. I will continue to see him. Aaron is a genuinely caring and compassionate person, as well as a highly skilled practitioner. He uses different modalities, muscle/tendon manipulation, adjustments and "active release." So I never really write reviews, but I felt compelled to leave something in hopes to help others who might be looking for a good chiropractor in the Moss Beach/Pacifica area. I recently moved to the bay area and I was in a desperate need of a good chiropractor. Like with many other things, I trusted Yelp and found Dr. Aaron who's located less than a mile away from where I live. I thought , "you really can't beat the proximity, why not give it a try?" I will admit, so far, I have only had the initial exam and one adjustment session, but boy was I blown away by his professionalism, respectful approach, and thoroughness. He took his time understanding my history, and then did a thorough exam to establish the basics, then we did our first adjustment session. I have to say, I never expected how thorough he was with me and I very much appreciated how respectful and comfortable he made me feel. I definitely plan to continue to see Dr. Aaron for future adjustments. But based on what I experienced from my first session, I'm sold!! I don't even know where to begin. I have suffered from chronic lower back and hip pain for the past 7 years. I have seen chiropractors, surgeons, massage therapists and pain control specialists. I am so thankful I found Dr. Tjogas tucked away in quiet Montara, just a mile from my house. I had my first appointment at the beginning of the month, and have now seen him twice, both times leaving extremely impressed. I have had chronic back pain since I was very young, and used to see a chiropractor when I was ~10 years old. Unfortunately my childhood chiropractor was very rough, popped my entire back each time and sent me on my way. From what I remember, it was very painful and uncomfortable so I decided not to return to a chiropractor due to a lingering fear. Dr. Aaron totally changed my feeling about chiropractic. I have NEVER found relief from a chiropractor until him. I was referred to him by my daughter and husband who were referred by a friend, who was referred by another friend. That says a lot right there. My daughter got super quick relief from her ulner nerve problems in her arm and now just checks in occasionally for maintenance. My husband totally is sold on his style, care and knowledge. My regular doc was calling my condition hip bursitis in both hips for the last 1 1/12 years, which it is, however the condition caused shooting pain down both sides of my legs from my hip, through my knees nearly to my feet, mainly when I tried to lay down or sleep. Their solution was a cortisone shot which I refused. The other thing they suggested is surgery to drain the bursa inflammation. Dr. Aaron spent so much time explaining what was happening and why and went right to work. His approach seemed way different than any chiro I had EVER seen. He seems to be untangling my nerves, tendons and ligaments which is what is causing my pain. Who knows how they ever got themselves in such a tangle. What did I do? I am a big walker and he says, one that is why it's not worse, and two that's why I am getting such good results. I have been going for sessions twice a week for a little over a month and I now have no pain at all down the sides of my legs and the pain can be pinpointed to just a small area on my hip sides and just inside my knees. Dr. Tjogas is a rare gem! If you suffer from chronic pain and immobility, then Dr. Tsogas will be amazing you too! I suffered from a 20 year injury that essentially had my entire shoulder immobile. In addition I had horrible sciatica that had been actively hurting for 8 years.I couldn't lift our 3 year old anymore and I couldn't really drive without being in agony. In 8 sessions I was starting to move again, now 4 months later, I can honestly say I am well on my way to being pain free. As for the arm, 3-4 day stents now without pain, which for me hasn't happened in 20 years. My mobility is about at 90% now, and the sciatica really is down to maybe a little pain once a week! It is a miracle. I His combination of soft tissue mobilization work, and then his incredibly specific adjustments are truly rare. I have seen bay area practitioners and have never found anyone with such effective techniques. He often will not adjust the entire area but rather one little spinal joint....it's amazing! I don't know how he does it. I am not exaggerating either. Dr. Aaron always finds the problems even if I'm not aware of them and approaches them gently, using the minimum amount of force, not to over-stress the body too much. He is always able to fix the painful parts that I'm going to solve! Aaron Tjogas is an excellent chiropractor and an exceptional human being. My partner and I were in desperate need of an adjustment when we were in Half Moon Bay for the weekend. We took a wrong turn to our destination and found ourselves right in front of Aaron Tjogas' office, and took it as a sign (in addition to the more tangible "open/walk -ins welcome sign) that we should go in. He took the time to do a quick adjustment my partner, even though he was very busy, and instantly cured his throbbing headache. Without him, our weekend would have been very challenging. When we spontaneously walked in again on Monday evening so that I could be adjusted, he kept his office open late so that he could fit me in. He then proceeded to give me the most thorough and caring chiropractic treatment I've ever had, taking the time to explain everything as he proceeded. He even graciously spent additional time checking in on my partner's adjustments. The whole time he was just so kind to us and we are very grateful that we stumbled across him serendipitously.
