I'm renovating a 150 house and trying to make the bathrooms appear as they would have been when originally installed in the 1930s. Someone did a "modern" drugged induced hippie renovation in the 1970s (the only way you could tolerate the bathrooms is if you were high). Sorry, back to the review. Every time I'm there, I found the product that I really liked but out of my budget. The sales person spent a lot of time with me to understand exactly the style I wanted and suggested a much less expensive option without sacrificing quality. I am thrilled with the products and service. If you shop there, it's helpful to take magazines or photos of what you want. Don't run out the door in terror with some of the prices- they offer more affordable options. When talking with the sales person, be honest to discuss budget because they will work with you. Be mindful that these are quality products. While the prices are higher than the big box stores, the products will last much longer so they are actually cheaper. It's painful to spend a lot of money on a renovation and then after a few years, the finish on the faucets is wearing off and leaking. Go with quality products! Wow, I never thought that I could be so excited about plumbing products and bodily functions.

Our dryer died. It…read morewas unexpected only because we expected the washer to go first. I spent hours looking at reviews, applying for a box store credit card, loading up my shopping cart with extended warranties and parts only to come to the very end where the box store indicated that the product I wanted could be delivered, but there was no professional installation available. Say what??? Everyone knows that if you don't have their installers handle the installation, the moment you try to use that extended warranty that you've purchased they will tell you, "the warranty was voided by the installer." NOPE, not going to happen. So I came on yelp. Appliances on Lakeside had great reviews, was local, and nearby. Couldn't ask for more. We walked into the store and were greeted immediately. Mr. Ray came over to help us. I explained that I was looking at their GE machines on-line and we wanted to purchase a washer and dryer. I went from the top-of-the-line to a "lower" model because I really didn't want all the bells and whistles (15 functions???? I need maybe 3 and no, I don't need wifi because honestly, I don't care if my wash is done - I'll move it to the dryer when I get to it). Mr. Ray looked up the machine I was interested in, and while it was going to take at least 3 weeks for delivery, the price was even less than what was on the show room model. I like less. The installation (professional!) along with the recycling of the existing is all one price. The parts (new hoses are a must) were less than the box store. The warranty (same amount of time and basically the same price) is actually BETTER than what the box store covers. I'm liking local. I like walking out of a showroom happy about my purchase.

Appliances on Lakeside has told us they need to get it fixed their supplier; Bodewell. Bodewell keeps resched and has told is we need to pay for the part. Lakesise is now ignoring us. By from Lowes or Home Depot or someone who actually cares about their reputation.

I had clearly…read moreexplained the issue over the phone and even offered to send photos beforehand, but that wasn't taken up. When the technician arrived, I showed him the small plastic latch piece that had broken off. He only briefly looked at the washer itself and quickly concluded that the issue required a full lid assembly replacement costing around $400-$450, along with an $80 service charge for the visit. Afterwards, I purchased the replacement latch part from another appliance store for about $13 and replaced it myself in a few minutes after watching a repair video. The washer is now working properly. My concern is that the specific broken part I identified was not really evaluated, and the diagnosis felt very quick given the simplicity of the actual repair. I understand technicians rely on experience, but in this case the solution turned out to be far less complex than what was quoted. Overall, I left feeling that the issue wasn't fully considered, which led to an unnecessary service fee and a much more expensive repair recommendation than was needed.

While everyone was talking after 20 minutes and trying to figure out who they could ask, I just walked out to go to another store to get the things that I needed. One gentleman in an orange apron told me who I needed to speak to, but said he couldn't call him to come over. I would have to go and try to find him. I don't know how this makes sense. I don't know how these stores survive. No one seems to know what they're doing and everyone's just standing around punching a clock for a paycheck.
