Also, knowledgable staff who gave me lots of time, and they price-matched to other local stores.

I decided to buy my new kitchen appliances from Karl's vs. buying from a big box store. I wanted to support local and thought I'd receive better service than I would from a large retailer. Sadly, that wasn't my experience. My new appliances were installed November 2025 and it's been nothing but headaches since. The latest issue was discovered when the light came on my microwave to replace the filter but when I went to do it, I realized I did not have access to remove and replace it. I had to call daily for a week to get to the bottom of what was needed. Service said it wasn't a service issue and they redirected me to sales. It turns out the sales person should have sold me a bump out kit at the time of sale because my cabinets are deeper thanks standard over the range. Nobody mentioned this. Not sales at the point of sale, and not the installer at the time of install. The installer just proceeded with the install despite knowing my cabinets was blocking the vent. And I didn't know it was an issue until I had to replace the filter for the first time. Karl's wanted to charge me for the install to have it reinstalled properly. They also wanted to charge for the bump out kit, which I somewhat get but given all the headaches to this point I thought it would be an easy decision to cover the cost of the $80 kit for all the headaches. This is so unfortunate and disappointing.

If anyone in their leadership reads these reviews I hope they take notice of why many people are unhappy. I will be the first to say I absolutely love this store and the products they offer. I'm a total electronics and gadget nerd. I could probably live there. The problem isn't with the products offered. They are high quality. Yeah some things are pricey but if a customer doesn't have enough sense to not buy the platinum engraved $34 HDMI cord when you can get one from eBay for $3.99 don't blame the store, do your research people! Leadership listen up! The problem with your store is the customer service/experience. I don't know what it is, but the employees are not good at reading your customer base. Often times I am left waiting in an area for over 15 minutes without being acknowledged if I have any sort of question. Last December I wanted to purchase remote start for my car. I went to Best Buy and found many options. I waited for 15 minutes just waiting for someone to basically convince me to spend $500 on something I wanted, but had questions over. It would have been a slam dunk sale. I was ready to go, had the money, and was willing to fork it over that day. Not a single person offered assistance that day and I left with no money spent. That lack of customer acknowledgement lost a sale and irritated a loyal customer. Now I haven't been treated rudely by any staff and have at times received great service. However, there have been far too many times where I have been completely ignored and not felt valued. If you can fix this you easily have 5 stars from me and probably many other happy customers. I'll still come back, but it's because I know what I'm looking for I can get in get out pretty quick. Value and acknowledge your customers because it doesn't long for a loyal person to find other options!

If you think you're going to Mahlander's for repairs, you're not. You're going to Bob's. Your item is placed in the back where it awaits Bob, who may or may not exist. Any status will not be communicated to anyone existing outside of Bob's mind, so any inquiries are answered with "I don't know, ask Bob. He's not here. Call back later." After your item sits for more than a month, you can go retrieve it, covered in dust and dented and scratched. And then the lighting ladies will clutch their pearls and act astonished that this whole scenario may, in fact, have UPSET you, the potential customer. But that's your mistake. Bob's has no customers, only suffering fools.

The first time I was appliance shopping here a few days ago, the salesman was extremely abrupt and angry when I politely mentioned their competitor's price. If you can't meet that price, just politely tell me why. Now today a completely different salesman helped me. This time I had my toddler with. He was being a normal 2 year old and wanted to explore the store. Rather than the salesman just walking with us and continuing to answer my questions, he just stayed put over by the appliance we were discussing, and his nonverbals toward us were offensive. He clearly did not want my toddler in his store. For the record, not that that it should even matter, but My son was not screaming or throwing a tantrum or hurting anything. He just wanted to walk around the store. The appliance that I probably want to buy is $20 cheaper here with free delivery, but they will not be seeing my business after making me feel this way.
