Since Ray at Better Electric retired, it appears that Sclamo's has assumed the customers from Better Electric. Asked Peter about free delivery and adding washing machine hoses as Ray had done at Better Electric. Peter went on to tell me that he is the largest dealer in Worcester County and has a large payroll. He told me that if I wanted free hoses to go and find Ray. Looks like he is now wearing a big hat and has a pompous attitude. I would never shop there again and urge others to shop around. I found prices that were better in Milford and Bellingham. Arrogant and pompous describes my experience at Sclamo's. You've lost a customer for life and word spreads fast!

Two days ago, we made our first visit to the Ollies on Grafton Street in Worcester. We picked up our "go to" Ollies staples -coffee K Cups (BTW, we do recycle them) and found some very good values on $4 or $5 for a box. Although we did get some good values, we thought the overall coffee inventory was lower than in other Ollies. We usually pick up some odds and ends in the food section and Ollies had a good selection of soups and salsas. One odd thing I saw was a trend of messiness in some of the store's sections. There were area rugs dumped all over the floor in one aisle. Now of course, I don't know how that happened, nor how long that mess was there, but I suspect a slovenly customer was looking at merchandise and couldn't have been bothered by picking up the mess they had carelessly created. But why on earth hadn't an employee noticed and remedied that mess? Another example of inattention was how the big cartons of K Cups were stacked; it looked as though their forklift or pallet jack operator had a few too many adult beverages before saying "that messy off-center precariously leaning stack is EXACTLY the way I wanted it too look". Overall, we had a typical Ollies experience, and that's a good one!

I only bought a new fridge to match the new stove and broken dishwasher. They were having a July 4th sale. The store manager, Brian Smith, already had the picture of the dent from the delivery guy when I called him. I couldn't get a replacement though and was offered a "damage" credit. I was really liking the salesman Tom H. who gave me the same price as Percy's but not liking that I paid for a new refrigerator and now have a "scratch & dent" (which they do sell also). Embarrassingly visible. I advise buyers that you have 2 people be at delivery site...one to watch the guy unpacking out in the truck and one in the house to watch the guy disconnecting the old appliances.
