We tried this place for the first time for dinner on a Friday evening. We were seated right away. No reservation needed. We started with their mixed platter as appetizer, which comes with chicken kebabs, chicken tikka and shrimps and lamb. We also tried their mysore dosa and Bombay chicken dosa. What I liked was that the service was fast. Our server Willborne was nice and quick. We appreciated his recommendations. The dosas tasted good and the mixed platter was also delicious. We'd been before, but that time we waited 35 minutes at our table and no one ever greeted us. So, we left. Deciding to give it another shot, we went last night. The service was very good, and the mango mojito was well crafted. This was all because the poor guy was host, bartender, server, and bus boy. The food, on the other hand, was a different story. We started by ordering Chicken 65 and Samosas for an appetizer. They took forever and came out barely warm. For dinner, my wife ordered the chicken korma and I the Chole (Chana) Masala. We also ordered the butter naan and the cheese and garlic naan. My wife's dish was okay. It's not as good as several other places in town. My dish was really weird. It's one of my favorites, usually, but this came out as a thin brown sauce with chickpeas that has just been taken out of the can...a bit al dente. This was not the usually thick masala that I've had many other places. This sank right through the rice. It was not good and I did not take it home as leftovers. The naan, for which you pay $3-4 was a single piece of naan cut into four pieces. The garlic cheese naan had garlic butter and a cheese powder of some sort sprinkled on top. Not a good value. There are other, more amazing Indian restaurants in town that we will continue to frequent. We've given this two tries and won't be back. read more

Awesome Indian Cuisine that seemed to be authentic! There was only one server as it was before closing but he was attentive even though serving a few other tables. I knew i should of left when i walked in and told him I would like to dine in . He told me to have a seat . No menu , no customers service whatsoever. I love Indian food . I came in after the lunch rush and was concerned that I was the only one here. The nice lady explained that they were so crowded from 11:30 -1:00. Let me tell you, my taste buds are happy. I don't know the names of everything that I had but literally every item was bursting with flavor. Some were spicy and I was happy about that! The vegetable curry was great. The vegetable Manchurian was a pleasant surprise! I wasn't sure what to expect but it was good. I can't wait to return. Of this is lunch, I can't wait for dinner! My wife and I recently visited Aaru's for dinner. The menu is extensive and overwhelming featuring multiple pages of Indian, Indochinese, and Thai dishes. I decided on the Garlic Naan and Lamb Curry. The naan was thin, lightly crisp and nicely garlicky. The curry was creamy, flavorful, lightly spicy and full of tender lamb. The side of soft savory rice nicely soaked up the curry. First timer. Mayuri changed locations so now we have Aaru's. They started earlier this month.. I had the buffet and tried numerous items (see pic). Have done takeout multiple times. This was the first time dining in. Some of the most flavorful dishes in the City. An expansive menu, very reasonable prices. Service is prompt. Small restaurant with 6 or 7 tables. They are also excellent with regard to spice levels. Glad to have a new Indian/Asian restaurant in Tallahassee! Although I loved Mayuri, Aaru's picks up right where they left off at this location and now I prefer Aaru's even more! Their dosa platter is our go-to dinner now, but I love that there is so much else on their menu to try each visit. While we look forward to eventually stopping in for lunch to try their buffet, we love their dinner menu and have received such friendly service. Dined at Aaru's a number of years ago and loved the place. Looking for a lunch spot today and thought we'd go to Aaru's remembering some outstanding items we'd had there before. 11:45 am when we arrived. Only car on the lot. 1st thing we noticed was the white fence covered with mold and mildew. 2nd was how overgrown and unkempt the landscaping had become. 3rd was the debris all over the lot. Not sure why we went in, but we did. Gentleman greeted us and showed us to a table (yes we were the only patrons). Brought us water and menus. Extensive indo-Chinese menu. Remembering we'd loved a butter chicken dosa previously we looked for it but couldn't find on the menu. Asked our server and he suggested a similar crepe item. Also recalled a wonderful deep fried cauliflower dish in a spicy sauce which he located for us on the menu. We asked for a lamb Kebab item, unfortunately they're out of lamb right now. We asked for a tandoori chicken item and one was suggested. First came the cauliflower - it was good flavor and spice. Cauliflower pieces were tiny vs what we remembered. Next arrived the tandoori chicken dish - it was ground chicken dumplings. Not at all memorable. We ate half of them. Finally arrived the dosa. The filling was diced chicken with spices - rather dry, in a giant loosely rolled crepe. Three dipping sauces accompanied it. No resemblance to the delicious butter chicken we remembered. The interior of the restaurant is looking run down too. The sheets of white brick veneer are separating from the wall. Strings of lights hang helplessly outside the window. The men's room is dirty. Soap dispenser leaking down the wall. Trash can full of used paper towels - obviously left from yesterday. We paid our check $53 with tip. 1 pm - no other patrons had arrived. Sad to see whoever is managing the operation has let the standards slip to an unacceptable level. The owner should walk the property and look at the operation as a customer sees it. read more

So I am sad to say this. The menu has changed. The chef has changed. Butter chicken was chicken pieces in watery tomato soup. The paneer palak was green watery soup. We sent everything back. They brought it back. Slightly thicker and slightly more flavorful. Slightly. Samosa pastry was not what it was either. Chicken Manchurian was a broth with tiny chicken pieces. Too much garlic. As for the one recent critical review, that's pretty lousy as this place bills itself as Aaru's Multicuisine restaurant...it is not purely Indian food; they also have Asian and other options. Personally, I love the Indian options and the fact that they accommodate my preferred spice level of extra hot. The restaurant is clean & small, yet cozy. It was close to closing time, so we didn't get to stay long. Please plan your lunch time accordingly. I didn't check their hours, so my lunch plans with my friend was cut short. However, the server did not show any negativity and remained patient. The food came out pretty fast, very tasty with a lot of spice! The hot level is pretty spicy, so be forewarned if you choose Indian spicy level. The server helped us a lot in choosing our entrées. There's so many selections! If you want to try most of them, there is a buffet option that will allow you to do so. Beside, feeling slightly rushed to leave, it was a pleasant experience. We were delighted with everything about Aaru's. My son and I have been dining at this location for many years, but this was the first time in this incarnation. I was impressed with the black and white decor. The menu was extensive and after learning that my first choice was available only at lunch, I had to peruse the menu again. I decided on Schezwan Momo as an appetizer, medium spicy. It came out very nicely presented, about 6 dumplings in a fragrant red sauce. They were very tasty. My entree was vegetarian Butter Paneer, medium spicy. Very good and enough to bring home for another serving. My son ordered Shrimp Masala, spicy. He cleaned his plate although he said he's getting too old for spicy and medium spicy would have sufficed. He did enjoy the Masala. We had a side dish of delicious garlic Naan. Our server was personable and well versed on the menu. We'll look forward to seeing Willborn when we return to get that dish which is available at lunch. read more

VERY cute restaurant and during the summer months, I'm sure the outside patio is just as cute for dining during the summer (it's a cold, for Florida, winter day during my visit so patio was put up). My server, Willborne was incredibley nice and attentive. I ordered chicken saag (medium spice), Kashmiri naan, and Chai tea, all of which exceeded expectations.
