Best steak I've had at a chain, and I've done Ruth's Chris and the rest. This beats them. We got the dry-aged and it was perfect. Juicy, cooked a true medium rare. And the portions are huge. Everything from the apps to the strawberry shortcake at the end was a ton of food, and by dessert I was done. It runs about $200 for two but you leave full and happy, and the wine and cocktails are great. The only downside is the pace. Our server was the sweetest but there was a lot of waiting. Waiting on menus. Waiting to order. Waiting on the check. Didn't ruin anything, just slow. One handy thing if you drive electric, there's a Rivian charger right nearby, so you can plug in and go eat while it charges. Slow service aside, the food is that good. Highly recommend. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and the experience we had there. I took my wife there for our 9th wedding anniversary dinner. We made reservations and got there a little early and we were seated promptly. Our waiter (as well as the rest of the team), Aiden (I hope I spelled his name correctly), were extremely courteous and made us feel very welcomed and special. They had a happy anniversary card on our table signed by the staff and everyone (not just our waiter or the host) told us happy anniversary. All of our food was exceptional, cooked to perfection, and very prompt. Connors exceeded our expectations in every way and we will most definitely be back soon. If you go, it would be a mistake to not get the strawberry shortcake for dessert, it was phenomenal!! Had dinner here last night with friends. Stopped at the bar first and had a 6pm reservation but the hostess was able to seat us early. I had been here for lunch on a few occasions but had not tried the steaks yet. So I ordered the 9oz filet ($48) from the regular menu and for sides (included) I had the Caesar salad and Asiago creamed spinach. The filet was cooked perfectly - medium rare and the flavor was outstanding! The salad was cold and crisp and the creamed spinach was crazy good! One of the better meals I have had in Tallahassee! My friends had the salmon which they both raved about so I'll try it next time. The shrimp and grits were very good but Jonah's is still my favorite...... Dined here via sitting at the bar for a solo lunch, and really enjoyed the experience (minus a little situation, but it wasn't the restaurant's fault, it was another [extremely entitled] customer) . I started with the lobster dip which was recommended by my server, Tori -- she was phenomenal by the way. The lobster dip was delicious. I see what the hype is about. It had a perfect consistency and the flavor profile was great too. For an entree, I had a ribeye and added "scampi butter" which came with shrimp. The steak was fairly good; not the best I've ever had but enjoyable nonetheless. I was not a fan of the rice that accompanied it. Meh is the best way I can think to describe this place. For a steakhouse, the prices are fantastic. For food, it's ok. The service, however, was awful. My colleague and I had very simple orders... I got the prime rib with mashed potatoes and corn, blue cheese on my salad. My colleague got the filet with truffle butter, baked potato with no sour cream, creamed spinach, and lobster bisque. Lobster bisque had lobster meat, only flavor. We were promised bread, had to ask for it twice. No, it wasn't fresh from the oven when we got it so that wasn't the issue. I asked for more salad dressing, never got it. The prime rib had very little fat, so that was nice. They forgot my horseradish, I had to ask twice. The baked potato came out with sour cream. They forgot my corn, and when I did get it, you couldn't tell me it was fire roasted at all... It was more toppings than corn and clearly came from a can. The creamed spinach might as well come with tortilla chips, it was that over cheesed. We were completely done with our meal and sat waiting with no beverages and dirty plates and no check for 15, minutes. Overall, very disappointing. Would I go back? Visiting from out of town and decided to try this new restaurant. We were a party of dinning on Easter Sunday. Arrived early for our reservation however we were seated immediately. Our waitress arrived quickly and took our drink order. Started with the lobster dip appetizer which was served warm with these light and airy scoop chips. Both very flavorful. We also ordered the Lobster bisque which was loaded with flavor. I ordered the chicken piccata served with delicious mashed potatoes and broccoli. My husband ordered the halibut with baked potato and sautéed spinach. The other two dishes were the linguine with shrimp and the blue point oysters. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Once led to our table, we were pleasantly surprised by a card that was waiting for us, signed by several servers - this was so nice of them! Grade A service all around; very attentive waitress. Took my fiancée's family here while we were in town for Christmas and was extremely underwhelmed. I ordered the lobster bisque, lamb chops, and white cheddar mac and cheese. None of the food was warm, especially the mac and cheese, and three out of four of the meats we received were extremely undercooked. We are not typically a group that sends food back, but we unfortunately had to send one of the steaks back to the kitchen to be cooked longer. The lobster bisque was decent, but an unacceptable amount of lobster shell made its way into the soup. I will say the saving grace of our evening and this review was the service. Our waitress was incredibly helpful, and the manager brought out an entirely new cut of meat with additional sides. The atmosphere and overall presentation of the food were also very nice. I didn't try them myself, but I was told the deviled eggs were very good. It is possible we caught them on an off night, but for what we paid, I probably would not return. read more

I have visited Connors on three separate occasions now on various days of the week and weekend, so I think it is fair to leave a review. My first time visiting Connors was for a 50th b-day celebration for a friend, so I tried their steak, being that they are a steakhouse. The steak was cooked perfectly, medium. However, I do not love the marinade or lack of marinade they use. The steak was seasoned well enough that it did not require steak sauce; however, I believe other restaurants do a better job of marinating and seasoning their steaks. You can add various toppers to aid in the overall flavor, such as black truffle butter, demi-glace with mushrooms, and shrimp scampi, for example. The second time I visited was just a few days after the first, so I went with a seafood dish, shrimp and grits. I will say the portion was large and so was the flavor! Connors has some of the best shrimp and grits in town, in my opinion. They also use sausage in the dish to accompany the shrimp and hearty portion of grits. Finally, I love a good wedge salad and theirs has a healthy smattering of blue cheese and balsamic drizzle mixed with their crispy bacon bits. Each time I went, I had a different server, but all were attentive and worth every bit of the 20%+ tip given. Connors makes for a good date night, especially with its dimly lit atmosphere or special occasion spot that can accommodate larger groups. read more

The kids pizza was mediocre at best... basically a frozen pizza. The fried green tomatoes were decent, but the brown gravy on top completely ruined them. At this point, I'm convinced half the reviews have to be fake, because there's no way this many people thought this food was good unless they truly have no taste buds. The place itself is gorgeous.The food It's about the same lunch price as this place for lunch, but you get so much more delicious food. It is incredible. Well Positioned Bar. Open Grill. Cooks & Service & Front of House EVERYWHERE. Apparently, we chose a good night to dine because we were told that the co-owners/bosses were in the building. The Service. Excellent! Malachi (like the four chapter book of the Bible) was attentive, engaging, and he knew what he didn't know (like what was in each of the mocktails). Emilia, a long time family friend, stopped by to chat (briefly) and to ensure that all was well. We also had the front of the house check on us multiple times. I trust that the service will always remain this intentionally attentive. The Food. Voodoo Shrimp appetizer was ok. The Bread/Rolls were so good (I recommend a flavored or salted butter to put it OVER the top). Atlantic Salmon x Brown Rice x Brussels Sprouts. The mesquite grilled Salmon was divine; they can grill some salmon. The Brown Rice mixed with grilled vegetables was surprisingly good. The Brussels were chewy and over sauced. Cajun Red Grouper x Fire-Roasted Creamed Corn x Mashed Potatoes. The mesquite grilled Grouper was 'slap her' good. The Corn was topped with bacon and not creamy enough and the Mashed Potatoes were just ok. Didn't finish either. The sides made the food 4 stars not 5. The Dessert. The Strawberry Shortcake was and is the 2nd best dessert in Tallahassee that I have had. Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, Strawberries diced and lots of them, and whatever that cake/cookie thing was amazing. Goodness Gracious. Good Guggamugga. Sooo good. We will be back just for that dessert. *AND* I want the recipe. Connors can you make that happen? The Drinks. We ordered two mocktails. The Tiki Tiki was a coconut and blueberry blend. Connor's Steakhouse, a Knoxville, Tennessee, favorite has recently opened it, its own restaurant in Tallahassee Florida. My dining companion and I recently made a reservation for a weekday lunch. We arrived prior to 11:30 am and really didn't need the reservation but didn't want to chance it. The restaurant is very handsome in tones of brown, gray, black and white. The lunch specials feature entrées ranging between $15-$20. Some are also offered in part during dinner time. Before the meal arrived, our server brought a plate with two rolls and an herb butter. The herb butter is definitely worth sampling! On this day, we ordered the 6 ounce sirloin with asiago creamed spinach, and fish and chips served with crinkle cut french fries and coleslaw. I requested the white macaroni and cheese instead of the french fries. Both the macaroni and cheese and cream spinach arrive in oval ramekins that have been baked as a delicious accompaniment. The fish and chips is served as three fish fingers with a lemon dill, tartar sauce, and a small serving of coleslaw. It is a perfect light lunch and honestly not enough to share. The steak was cooked perfectly before my dining companion. I have to say the service as courteous, professional, and on the higher side of what we generally find in Tallahassee. I think the servers are taught to walk with their hands clasped behind their backs when they don't have something in their hands to carry to or from a table. The price is at lunch seem slightly more reasonable than what the restaurant features at dinner. So if you are looking for a fine dining budget option if there is such a thing, Connor's steakhouse at lunch may provide you with the right meal option. The service we received was exemplary, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful. I only wish we had some room for dessert. We seriously wanted to try the Keylime cheesecake but couldn't find the room. There are at least eight dessert options available. Beautiful stacked Ahi Tuna, avocado, red onion, jalapeños and sweet pineapple. The combo of the Ahi, perfectly ripe avocado, onion, and the sweet of the pineapple offset the mildly spicy jalapeños. Crisp crackers, possibly rice? added crunch to this wonderful tower of flavors. Great Starter! Warm rolls came out and we were trying to guess the flavor of the softened butter. Per Gabby, it was pesto butter, and it was terrific! Torn between the Espresso Rubbed Ribeye and the Prime Rib, decided to share with Prime Rib, Baked Potato and Strawberry Spinach Salad. Normally the Spinach Salad is just a nice side to the entree but this plate of fresh spinach, with absolutely perfectly ripe strawberries, tangy Bleu Cheese crumbles and crunchy pecans could easily stand alone! The prime rib came next with perfect pink center and delicious au jous. The fluffy baked potato complemented the prime ribs savory goodness and we added the leftover pesto butter to the potato for a little extra zip! Decided to return to Connors about a month later. This time around, all of the food was on point. Ahi Tuna Stack was delicious. Crab Cocktail on point. The Lobster and Crab Bisque is quite tasty. 2 Ribeyes and a Filet Mignon. All perfectly on point temperature wise. The issue this time around was with service and overall pacing. The first thing to arrive was the bisque. Our server made a point to ask if we wanted it served with all of the other apps and a salad. We did. Unfortunately, the soup arrived and was consumed. About 10 minutes or so after the arrival of the soup, the salad and 2 apps arrived. It was just odd, and the manager did come over to apologize which was a nice touch. As the apps were a little late in getting to the table, the mains arrived more or less as soon as the apps were getting cleared. This was all fine, but the final issue was that we were still in the middle of our main course when our server asked if we wanted dessert. I was completely put off by this, as it's customary to finish the meal before being offered a dessert menu. I was still in the middle of my meal when our server started clearing the other plates and boxing up the leftovers. I was completely confused when we were presented with our check and I was asked if I wanted the rest of my meal boxed up as well. The entire experience reeked of, "Wrap it up!" I was put off by the pace and felt rushed. However, like I said, all of the food was delicious, and everything was on point food-wise. All of the staff was friendly and polite. So my first time at Connor's was decent. We went around lunchtime on a Friday afternoon and there was actually a 15-20 minute wait. We ran a quick errand and came back and our table was ready within a few minutes of sitting down in the "lobby." I did not catch our server's name but he was kind, helpful and attentive. We tried the lobster bisque as appetizers and it was quite tasty, my favorite part of the meal. The rolls were served warm and the garlic butter they came with was good as well. For the entree I had the steak salad and it was just OK. I found the sliced sirloin to be dry and salty. It was a good size for a $20 salad. My kids enjoyed their kids meal (pizza and chicken tenders) and my hubby enjoyed his fish entree. I believe it was the trout. The Brussels sprouts side was delicious. Even though it was a belated bday lunch we didn't tell the server/spring for dessert, though I believe they do offer something. I love the look and feel of the restaurant. It makes you feel like you're not in Tallahassee. While I love my city, there's just something about establishments that make you feel like you're out of town. I definitely plan to return. The first appetizer was the Voodoo Shrimp which is hand-breaded popcorn shrimp with a spicy remoulade sauce, and green onions. The shrimps (portion consisted of 15-18 shrimps) were slightly larger than popcorn shrimps were perfectly breaded, fried, had a kick of heat from the spicy remoulade sauce, but not too spicy to overpower the touch of sweetness that complimented the shrimps. The cost was $15.00, and I highly recommend this appetizer. The second appetizer was the Spicy Korean-Style Ribs fire-braised baby back ribs, covered with a spicy Korean sauce, crushed wonton, and green onions. The ribs (5-6 bones) were slightly over cooked, a little dry, and could have used more of the spicy Korean sauce, but they still tasted amazing. The cost was $15.00, and I recommend this appetizer. We dined at Connor's during a very busy graduation weekend. From the host to our server the dining experience was superb. Food was absolutely divine! Our table had some of the best calamari we had ever had. Stuffed mushrooms were delicious as well.
