There is so many reasons that this incredible holistic pet store has stood the test of time. Between living Manhattan for more than 25 years and, now living in Brooklyn for 12 years, I'm shocked that I never knew about Whiskers, until very recently. I had many wonderful rescue dogs over the years and, I'm also involved in Rescue. My dog's health is always a number one concern. that's why I'm truly baffled that I didn't know about this amazing store. I am so happy that Whiskers Holistic Per Care was recommended to me. Now I know the only pet shop that I will need in order to take care of my dog. Whiskers offered what is needed to give our companion animals, what is needed for holistic wellness. Not only do they have the best products, they specialize in educating their customers (or pet parents) on what is helpful, harmful and helps the most. During my first visit, I came in with concerns about my Dog Bella's health. Joe, sat down with me for about 1/2 hour. He went over Bella's latest bloodwork and I explained the symptoms that were concerning me. Joe didn't try to push me to buy anything. It wasn't at all about making a "big sale." I also was not told to disregard what Bella's veterinarian had said. Joe helped me pick out the holistic products and healthy choices to help Bella heal and feel good. For me, my dogs are family. Like humans, animals deserve the highest quality of care. The immense selection of products was so much to take in but, in a very positive way! You can also find staples like dog and cat toys, leashes, and collars and everything in between. I am so grateful to have found whiskers. Their staff is incredible, patient and kind. They offer consultations at the store, very personalized care and they also deliver. They even ship world wide. Thank you, Whiskers for helping me with Bella. You now have a life long customer!

Well I just could not accept this. One of the employees here, (Joseph I believe his name to be)I recommended some supplements and new food, and what do ya know... These so called "experienced doctors" with their fancy degrees knew nothing about nutrition, food or medicine. This place helped my cat tremendously. This place gave me hope and what was recommended was affordable. This is a rare find in today's day and age. The customer service was friendly and knowledgeable. Can't recommend this store enough.

So I was in the neighborhood and wanted to patronize a local store to support local business. I wanted a pet brush for double coat fur dogs and a harness. There was no one else in the store, but when I asked for some help on which of the many options would be appropriate for the dog (which I had with me), he was gruff and couldn't be bothered to give me any guidance or info. I ended up standing in front of the carousel of brushes and googling reviews. Then, after paying for the brush, I asked for his opinion on the size and choice of a harness. Without hesitation he recommended a medium size for my small shiba, and let me try the harness on her. However, before ringing up the purchase, he again was blunt and pre-emptively said, "no returns on this one, okay?" I wasn't planning on returning it, but it surprised me that he would say so and say it in this way. Was I being profiled? I'm not sure. It didn't feel good to be treated this way. I reassured him I don't live nearby and didn't plan on returning it anyway, and we wore the harness out happily. It wasn't two weeks in when my dog started wiggling out of the harness on its tightest setting. Come to find out, she really fits a small (because I got her a size small in the same model, and that fits her perfectly). I think the items I purchased were very basic things for a dog, and the lack of care and customer service on the part of the owner left much to be desired. I will not be back.

Having recently been discharged from the hospital, going up and down the 24 flights of stairs to walk my dog in the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy was not an option. This company came up the dark stairwell to make sure my dog was OK, fed, and cared for. I'll never be able to thank them enough. It's rare to meet folks in any business that are as fine as these people.
