We were living out of state and visited Michael at Great Floors for carpeting, LVP flooring and granite countertops. We were here one week and then gone for a month, before permanently moving to Olympia. A lot of communication, moving parts, changes and questions/answers were needed to complete this large project in a month's time. Not only is Michael delightful, but his attention to detail was unpresented. We felt he 'had it covered' every step of the way. Working with Michael and his assistant was simply a pleasure. The most important message we received from Michael was making sure we were happy with the service, products and results. In addition, he offered services over and beyond what was expected. B&R helped turn a terrible experience into a silver lining opportunity to beautify our home. Brian C, our contact there, was amazingly helpful, attentive, and patient as we wrapped our heads around the scope of our project and our vast tile needs. He answered all of our questions and did not pressure us into making a hasty decision. B&R's price, selection, and range of products was excellent compared to other suppliers. We were able to get terracotta, terrazzo, slate, Zellige tile, subway tile- all at the same place. We ended up leaning into a handmade aesthetic with glossy greens, blues, and earthen hues. I am beyond happy with how our project turned out and the customer service at B&R was top notch. They have earned us as repeat customers for any of our future projects for sure. It was a bonus to talk to someone who knew the products so well and had strong design skills. The install team was led by Alex Barrera who had about 30 years in the building trade including years of flooring installation. True confession - I'm a perfectionist - so I kept a close eye on the installation including how the team worked together. I was impressed with how efficient the team was and their attention to detail (lots of measuring and math!) They carried B&R's commitment to customer service throughout the job, even when they were asked to stop and take a different approach. He spent his time helping us find the right hardwood color, brought multiple full-size samples to our house so we could compare everything in our own space, and offered very competitive pricing. His team is also incredibly skilled, they handled some challenging parts of our project, including matching the height of the new hardwood with the existing bathroom tile, and the final result looks seamless. When I sought estimates for this carpet replacement project on Yelp, Hardwood Plus was the first and fastest reply. Erik showed up on time and quickly gathered the information he needed while explaining some of the things that could go wrong, like leveling issues or finding something unexpected beneath the old carpet. He promptly provided a quote, and kept in touch via text message (a huge perk for phone call-averse people like me). When we visited the showroom to pick out the carpet and sheet vinyl pattern, it came as a relief that Erik was not interested in upselling - he'd present options, explain the pros and cons of each, and trusted us to make our own decisions. The first issue occurred on the installation day, when Erik messaged me to say the carpet had not arrived yet. He was apologetic and explained what had happened, but we would still have to wait another week for it to arrive. The second issue occurred after his team removed my old carpet: they found the tiles underneath contained asbestos and needed to be sealed, for an additional cost. This added another day to the sheet vinyl install, but this was a possibility he had mentioned early on. The team also accidentally broke my dryer vent, but Erik agreed to fix it with absolutely no fuss. Finally, there were a few little bubbles in the sheet vinyl I had to push out. But now that it's all done, I am absolutely over the moon with how great my new floor looks, and how delightfully plush the new carpet on the stairs and guest room is! Hardwood Plus is communicative, professional, friendly, honest, diligent, and timely. They do great work, take responsibility, and ensure your satisfaction. I can't recommend them enough.
