Edward and Dennis of New England Improvements did a great job of installing aluminum gutters on our…read morehouse in North Attleboro. They were a word-of-mouth referral from a local business owner I trust. The guys installed the gutters in two parts. The first part was a straight run of gutters on the side of the house that got more water, and the second part was on the trickier side of the house. On that tricky side of the roof, one edge overhangs the deck (which is over our bulkhead). Hanging over the other edge of the deck is the gable end, and then perpendicular to that is the 3rd edge of the roof I wanted gutters on. (It's weird architecture.) That 3rd roof edge has a extra-recessed fascia board that made regular-sized (5k) gutters a no-go. Anyway, the combination of the deck, the 3 runs, the location of our back door, and the unusual fascia board meant we had to think about where to put one of the downspouts, and whether we should replace the fascia board or just install a bigger gutter. Edward and I kicked around some ideas during the initial consult. A few weeks later Edward and Dennis installed the first run of gutters, so that half of the house was all set. As per my specs, he had the downspout discharge a good 2 feet away from the foundation, toward a downhill slope. All perfect. On that day we also determined that we should stick larger, 6k gutters on the other side of the house - on the run with the weird fascia board. About 10 weeks later we did part 2. I tend to see everything in life as a trade-off, and so I'd say that was the only minor "catch" here. Just that it took a while to complete both phases. Edward had to reschedule a couple of times. But he was generally communicative about it, I chalked it up to the summer of 2020 being an extra busy time, and it worked out well in the end. In any event, as soon as the guys arrived for part 2, Edward had an idea for where to stick the trickier of the two remaining downspouts - an idea neither of us had before. Kind of a "Eureka!" moment. The 2nd part of the installation was quick (maybe 2 hours), and the downspouts discharged exactly where I wanted them. The noise level didn't displace our toddler much, and they left behind no mess of any kind. I'm glad I picked New England Improvements. You'll want to contact them well in advance, because he's fairly busy. But if you're fine with that, you'll be happy. Edward is a friendly and up-front point man, and did a good job of laying out my options and not trying to push one option or another. He and Dennis work efficiently, and leave no trace, and the finished product accomplished what I wanted it to. By the way, Edward could charge much more than he does. (My gutters were extremely affordable.) I do most of the work on our house myself, because I enjoy it and am very particular about how things are done, but I'd definitely hire New England Improvements again for future exterior projects.

Called Ron and scheduled a time for him to come out and look at having our gutters and trim painted…read morein mid-October. He came out and gave his assessment. We needed trim replaced due to water rot from the gutters and he suggested we use some PVC trim boards. He also noted other concerns with some shingles that should be addressed soon outside of the trim painting. His estimate was so low, half of what others estimates were, I thought he might use inferior product, but was assured that they use a quality product and they don't like to price gouge customers like other contractors do. Ron doesn't talk to you like a contractor looking for a paycheck, he talks to you honestly like a family member. Ron and his crew came out in November and power washed all my trim, repaired or replaced any rotten boards and gave a good coat of quality paint. He even had our small back deck power washed at no extra cost, as he already had it out for power washing the trim. Fast forward 7 months, and the trim and gutters still look like new. Even painting in colder November, the paint held up with no cracking or peeling after going through winter and now that we've had some 80+ degree days everything is standing up. I couldn't be happier with our decision to go with Bigley Professional Painting.

He also came by to confirm the measurements to order materials two days in advance of the installation. On the day of the installation, the crew arrived on time and worked from 9:30 to 7pm to get the job done. Our house has a dormer and a detached garage so it was a lot to fit in. On the list was East Bay Pressure Wash located in Warren RI. They came out quickly and gave us an extremely competitive quote, told us what their services would entail and even was able to take care of some moss we had growing on our garage roof. At the time, they were running a special for 10% off and even though we didn't have the coupon from the reporter, offered us the discount. It was about a three week wait to have the house done, but they arrived on time and got started promptly. Midway through, the sky opened up, and it began to pour. Thankfully, the rain was not a deterrent and as soon as the rain slowed down, they resumed the cleaning. I would say all in all it took no more than two hours to complete the job and the house looks amazing!
