I feel like Jude Law when I come here, because none of the staff like me, and the manager (who looks like Ed Harris) makes me feel like an "Enemy At The Gates" location of Abbott's. But no, in all seriousness, it's not my fave Abbott's, because: (a) there are no outlets in store (b) they took forever to serve me (c) I asked for a cone - he double checked - again I said cone - and he still gave me a dish (d) the Cookie Dough custard I got here was good but not great (e) the interior isn't nearly as nice as some of the others However on the positive side (a) it's still Abbott's, one of the best custard chains anywhere (b) the girl working the lobby was really nice to me So I wouldn't put it up there with my fave 5-star Abbott's... the best one I've been to is in Henrietta, I wrote a 5-star review of it, it's the 1225 Jefferson Rd location. Amazing interior, amazing fresh custard with very fresh-tasting cones, good service, generous portions, and plus they told me they'd kill me if I didn't say this. As for the typical Abbott's remarks - Abbotts/Bill Grays share space like Taco Bell/KFC do in many places. The employees work for both. This location is a total palace, more than enough space for 2 businesses. Or five. It's one of my "best 5 custards I've ever had." I think I like custard more than ice cream, more than fro yo, less than real gelato. For custard specifically, which is sort of like soft-serve-but-creamier, the best in the country are Leon's in Milwaukee and Nielsen's in Vienna, VA, and then Abbott's in 3rd. But I can tell you this is the only custard shop in town named after Bill Gates.

As a standard, this Abbott's location is open seasonally. The frozen custard is good and the one in Gates is comparable to any other in town. We ventured in today and the young lady assisting us was very helpful with answering my questions. I ordered a flurry and she made it to perfection and even added in extras free of charge, which is always an A+ in my book! Bonus we used a coupon and my hubby got a free cone with my purchase. With their quick service and convenient location, we may be adding this Abbott's into our summer ice-cream cycle. Yum!

A $7.50 ice cream sundae should have a good amount of ice cream ..... just saying. Abbott's is usually a long standing tradition

The shop itself is charming, and the outdoor seating is even better -- picnic tables, comfy chairs, and a glowing fire pit that makes the whole space feel cozy and inviting, especially on a summer evening. Inside, they offer some truly amazing treats. The flavors are bright, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical ice cream shop. Staff were friendly on both of our visits and helped guide us through the options. We haven't yet been able to try their signature rolled ice cream -- once due to an anti‑griddle issue, and once because they were out of a specific cream needed -- but fear not, there were plenty of other excellent choices. Some in our group went with classic scoops, but we opted for the Ice Cream Nachos, which turned out to be outstanding. You choose your scoops, and they're served over delicate, crisp pizzelles and drizzled with sauces. We picked Cinnamon Roll and Banana Cream Pie scoops, both bursting with flavor and leaving us simply smiling. The finishing drizzle of pancake syrup tied everything together beautifully. Service was extremely friendly and prompt, and the outdoor seating made the experience feel relaxed and fun. This review reflects two separate visits, both of which were excellent. Frost & Foundry has quickly become our new favorite ice cream shop, and we'll definitely keep coming back -- hopefully soon enough to finally try that elusive rolled ice cream too.

The owner scooped up our treats himself and was so friendly and chatty. We had a big group- we have seven kids- but he was quick and efficient. The real star, though, was the ice cream. Everyone was thrilled with their choices and practically licked the dish. I had the peanut butter chip yogurt and it was divine.

Every bite was delicious! One thing to know before you go is that this place is popular, so the line can get pretty long. They're just spamming the site and writing fake reviews. Thankfully none of them are in any way associated with this, one of the best frozen custard places not just in Rochester, but in the whole world. What to get: Vanilla Frozen Custard What else: My mother's phone number If all of the people working here had nasty pubic lice, it would be Crabbotts. Thankfully, it's not. There's something very special about Abbott's. I love frozen custard, but all custards are not created equal. I get so maniacally enthusiastic about this stuff that I usually end up in Police Custardy. If the people here were all overweight, it would be Flabbotts. You'll find Abbott's inside Bill Gray's. It's a separate business that shares a space, much like Taco Bell/KFC do in many places. The employees inside work for both. If people were often abducted here, it'd be Nabbotts. It's one of my "best 5 custards I've ever had." I think I like custard more than ice cream, more than fro yo, less than real gelato, but that's beside the point. Focusing specifically on custard, which is sort of like soft-serve-but-creamier, the best in the country are Leon's in Milwaukee, followed by Nielsen's in Vienna, VA just outside DC, and then Abbott's in 3rd. After that, I think Cleveland has the next-best, and then there are a lot that are more or less tied. If Scientists worked here, it'd be Labbotts. There are many BG/Abbott's in Rochester, and a couple in Buffalo. In my experience they have all been fantastic. If it was full of Canadians and beer, it'd be Labbatts. If you haven't been, come here and try it to see for yourself how good it is. I will admit that I used to enjoy it more a few years ago. I'm not sure if the custard changed, or my tastes did. I feel like it used to be harder, they'd dig it out of a bucket or something, and it was amazing. These days it's softer and more melty, more like soft serve. I'm going to try the other Rochester locations at some point and see how they are. If it were full of narks, snitches, rats and informants, it'd be Blabbotts. Anyway, it's still fantastic, creamy, sinfully delicious custard that is better than the next-best version (Don's) in the area. Come and give it a try and see for yourself what all the Rochesteritonianisticalishy fuss is Abbott. And if it kept changing its windows, it'd be ALT+TABbotts.
