It is the fluorescent lights for me. I can't even with those overhead lights glaring down on me. It has to be a sensory thing, a neurodiversity issue. The food is satisfactory. The prices are fair. Came here on a busy Saturday morning. They were busy, but we were still able to be seated right away. They have a pretty big menu, but I'm for the waffles, always. I got a classic Belgium with strawberries. The food came out pretty fast & I was so hungry I didn't even get a chance to take a picture. It was good though! Overall, it's a good casual spot to bring the whole family for breakfast. There's enough seating for everyone & the staff is very attentive. Which worked out well, because I got to meet a friendly person. Everyone looked happy and satisfied. It was a warm feeling. The help was very hospitable and gracious. They asked if anyone wanted to sit at the bar and i responded , "yes!!!" I was alone but not alone, you know. I met this gentleman who was a regular, he said they used to be located in the Stater Brothers shopping center near Chicago street. He had a huge burger n fries, and he also recommended the brisket on Saturdays. I had the fench toast with bananas, walnut and whip cream, it came out piping hot. Omg!!! So delicious!!! Everything about this restaurant is good, starting with the staff, going through the menu selections, to the quality of the food. We have never been disappointed in anything we've chosen as our meal selection. We love the staff, most of whom know us by sight. The fried zucchini is fantastic! We pay a bit more to substitute them for French Fries, but they are well worth the up charge. The home fries are beyond delicious! So many wonderful choices on the menu make decisions difficult but everything is so delicious. The restaurant itself is decorated very well. We had a long awaited family get together with 12 family most coming from hours away (me 2 1/2 hours drive) and some from Arizona and they were staying in Hemet so we chose Abby's Cafe from Yelp reviews. We were so glad we did!! From the first friendly phone interaction with Maria calling to see if our large group could be accommodated, to the friendly greeting at the podium on arrival, then EVERY single staff person we came in contact with was friendly, caring of our experience, and great service! The busboy quickly got our drinks and always cleared our dishes-He is a gem! Great teamwork! Wonderful family experience! All of us loved our food too! This owner of Abbys Hemet discriminated against us for a service dog who is papered and has a vest. He insisted she was not a service dog and threw us out. He wouldn't see proof or anything and humiliated us. He was very rude and we will never come here or recommend this place to anyone. We need to have more kind people running businesses with compassion for the elderly and respect for the law and for the rights of service pets. With my coffee this is only $14.91 They probably have the least expensive coffee in town and its very good. Add a fantastic serving staff backed up by two bus boys, you depend on a great experience. I decided to visit Abby's cafe again as I needed to wait on my appointment. And what do you know? This woman is once again yelling at an employee IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT! I can not condone this type of behavior! I would very much like to know if this happens often but I refuse to return. It was appalling! I have a good mind to call the BBB on this woman. The lack of tact this woman has when handling problems with the employees is tremendous. My heart ached for the poor girl being scolded as the boy had been scolded on my first visit. I can only pray to our Father in Heaven that the owner will take care of this matter. And pray I will do!
