After reading some of the other reviews, I had difficulty reconciling them with my experience there. It's as if someone walked in, expected a local town hangout to be filled with racists and rednecks, and saw what they wanted to see. Hemet is a multi-racial town with a lot of hard-working folks of all races. I saw that in the clientele. Many people have stopped wearing masks in public. While I may question their wisdom, my wife and I wore ours when we walked in, as did many others. We received excellent, friendly, albeit informal service. Nobody even blinked. The food was hot, tasty, and plentiful. The coffee was as good as diner coffee gets, which means that it was fresh, hot, and rather strong. Not the best coffee I've ever had, but I enjoyed it, and I'm a bit of a coffee snob. Beyond that. It's a diner, folks. They don't have a wine steward, nor a matre d'. The food is basic. It's not "fusion" or any sort of cutting edge cuisine. It's just good basic diner food. No, it's not slick or corporate. It's not a nation-wide franchise with menus decided by focus groups. It's not fine dining. They don't have any of that. What they do have is good diner-style food, fast and friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. First time there - staff, unwelcoming. Paid for someone else's order, now waiting on a refund. Restaurant atmosphere - crowded, no clear way to the counter. Food - Subpar. Biscuits and gravy were terrible! Just a mess. Gravy was gelatinous in spots, somewhat bitter, and overall tasted awful. Complete waste of money. 1/10 Eggs Benny decent 4/10 Sausage & eggs 6/10. Well to start this review off it was my first time here I use to go to Patsy's Country kitchen which I'm finding out through these reviews it was their sister restaurant. I loved Patsys they knew my husband by name we went there so much the cook who made the pork chops was the best. It closed and we haven't wanted to drive to Beaumont, so we decided to go to Mia's I always read the reviews I noticed a LOT OF BAD ONES....but we decided to see for ourselves. OMG we're done food was mediocre at best, waitress was friendly to those she knew, like people said booths needed recovering, place was definitely not inviting enough to want to go again to spend your hard earned money. Came here on a whim while driving through town. We were looking for some true diner experience and Mia's is it! We sat at the bar, were served promptly, and there was even a wait for regular tables. I ordered the corned beef hash. Most meals come with the choice of a biscuit/gravy or toast in addition to home style fries or hash browns. The meal was hefty and delicious. I came here for the first time this morning, my boyfriend had told me a few times about this place so we decided to come today to eat breakfast. I'm currently pregnant and was really looking forward to some delicious French toast and my BF wanted to try their menudo. It didn't have the butter or powder sugar since they serve it in the side which it's okay but they just looked plain and not appetizing. Typically anything that has 'country kitchen' in it is so good. In my personal opinion. My uus6 an different stopped by for breakfast before making our 1.5 hour drive back home. Could not have been more satisfied. We both ordered the same thing, being County fried steak and eggs, except he got hash browns and I ordered the home style potatoes. Genuinely love mia and patsys country kitchen. The food here here is so good, I don't think I've tasted a meal I have not been pleased with. Not to mention customer service, is always on point. Always busy doesn't matter how early or late you arrive, but that's a good sign right!?? If you're an omelet person be sure to try the kielbasa Swiss cheese omelet, to die for!! Came back again today and the service was terrible! we sat for at least 5-10 minutes before we even were offered drinks, no biggy they were busy, it happens. My Dad loves this place for their biscuits and gravy. One half order alone, is a meal in itself. I took a picture of his half order to show you an example. The girls that work there are nice and have a sense of humor. They offered good service. With 5 people sitting down to have breakfast in our group, we were happy to be seated immediately. I went to Mia's for breakfast. I ordered the ham steak breakfast. The food was delicious, especially the ham steak, which was thick and perfectly fried. The portions were large, but I thought the meal was too expensive. The decor is a bit dated, which is not really an issue. It is strangely cluttered and does not provide a pleasant atmosphere. There are two main issues I have. The windows are filthy. The entrance door is broken, and also filthy. The door won't close completely, so I had to constantly spar with flies trying to land on my food. Your first impression of the business are the windows and the front door. If you can't be bothered to keep this important part of your business clean and in working order, I hate to think what the kitchen looks like. read more

My son and I wanted to grab some food before taking care of some errands today (April 11, 2017). After the horrible experience we had a Patsy's on March 19, 2017, greatly due to the server Emily, we decided to go to Mia's. My son and I found a booth and took a seat...low and behold, Emily was our server again At 1:13 we ordered our drinks and food. I ordered an ice tea and super omlette for myself, and a cheeseburger with fruit and water for my son. The drinks were delivered relatively quickly. At 1:22 our food was brought to us...not a single can I get you anything else from Emily; not a single hope you enjoy your food. From 1:22 - 1:34 Emily remained busy chatting it up with customers sitting up front, and cleaning/stocking. Never once did Emily approach us and ask us if we even liked the food. At 1:34 Emily came to our table, not to check on us, nor to fill up my almost empty cup of iced tea, no she came to get the syrup bottle so she could fill it up. At 1:40 Emily brought us our check, and finally acknowledged I needed to have my iced tea refilled. Beyond horrible customer service, the only reason I'm rating this as 2 stars is because the food is good, and priced reasonably.
